Irrespective of the differences of the various Bruce in, Bruce out camps, we all want the same thing; premier league football, let's hope we win the play offs. should we win, how will the current squad fare and how do you think Bruce will fare in the transfer market? I don't think his record is that good.

Johnstone may not be here
The two full backs, average championship players
Chester premier league quality
Terry won't play in premier league
Jedi heart of steel not premier league
Jack nailed on quality
Lansbury can't make side in championship
Hourihane not good enough
Thor not good enough
Hogan not good enough
Kodja premium league quality
Snoddy might not be here
Albert borderline.

Like it or not it does not make good reading. I agree with WTW based on his signings you can't trust Bruce with the millions we need to spend just to survive should we go up. Should we not go up we can't put up with the status quo.

Valid points in certain respects hopeful

However didn’t Keith Wyness state last year that Villa would build 3 squads?

1- to get out of the championship
2- to maintain place in the premiership once promoted
3- to kick on and challenge in the top half of the table

Therefore the current squad was asembled with one thin in mind to achieve promotion.

Hopeful, agree with all you have said mate, Albert I think is over the border to be honest.
Yeh Ken, I think it is a 3 stage plan, it needs to be though, this team are not good enough.

IMO I think that there are several players in the current squad who could step up to premier league level

but ultimately that’s the decision of the manager and board . And we have got to get there first 👍.

I agree we do need to spend big but I don't agree with what your saying about Bruce because he didn't sign all of the current squad.

Dave I would have to go for the following

Johnstone - will sign permanently should we gain promotion
Chester - obviously
Terry - one more year max
Hourihane - I think he needs to be played in the right set up and given a some freedom . I mean Ashley Landcrab Westwood seems to of gone on to play well for Burnley when asked to .
Grealish - potentially one of the best players to come out of villa in 20years
Snodgrass - sign permanently should we get promoted
Adomah - he has another 2 seasons left in him
Andre Green - this kid has tremendous potential should he get an injury free run
Scott Hogan - love him or hate him he runs his socks off and makes such good runs, if Shane long is premier league quality then hogan is also. Confidence player who needs a cuddle
Kodjia - frustrates me greatly, but so unpredictable and can just score for fun

I also do believe that there are some great youngsters coming though who will progress into 1st team players

I believe that Bruce is the right person to gain promotion. I also believe he deserves a chance to keep us up and develop the 2nd phase of the boards plan which is a team to keep us up in the premier league .

However the 3rd phase of the boards plan will see another manager at the helm as Bruce won’t be what xia wants

That’s not to say that I agree with Walk the walk about the style of play Bruce plays as frankly not everyone plays like Man City or wolves!

Man united play boring football but manage to win, so do Chelsea .

Football is a results business, it’s about winning

Only my opinion guys before I get slandered.

Xia loves Jose and Jose has spoken of villa in high regard so who knows for that 3rd stage when his time at man u is up. Saying that with Mendes being involved at wolves they would also be a possibility.

Ken, I have to agree with most of what you and Hoeful have said, and I think everyone on this thread have made some good points.
As you all know I have serious reservations about the ability Bruce has, not keen on his style of football at all, but that is for another day, I have never called for his head and he has earned his chance.
Time will tell, and fingers crossed for the playoffs.

Everyone has an opinion Dave and we are all entitled to one as that’s the democracy we live in .

Personally I would much prefer to watch attractive football, than what certain teams play (us included at times )

However winning should be the first and foremost concern for any team / business . I will use the word business as that is exactly what football has now become.

I would like villa back in the premier league and challenging for honours . Would I accept Bruce in charge winning games and challenging playing 💩 football ovcourse I would .

After all that’s exactly what both Chelsea and Leicester played whilst winning the titles in recent years.

Tell me about it Ken, I have been a campaigner for freedom of opinions on hear for ages.
And yes, I would also accept the man (Bruce) and his style of play if, and I say if, it kept us in the prem and in the hunt for honours.
But I just can`t see that happening somehow, still never say never.
I would hold my hand very high if I am wrong.
