Many on here me including me wanted to give the youngsters a chance, however unfortunately on the limited time they have had on the pitch they have done themselves no favours. I fully appreciate that they need a run to build confidence, however with the potential of the new signings they probably have missed the opportunity to impress.

Football is not known for patience and sadly I think the youngsters will not get many opportunities this season. For us to go up Bruce will surely rely on experience and this is unfortunate for talented but inexperienced youngsters.

Scotcaffu-i suspect the cups are where brucie will use them more, but let's be honest, grealish got his chance and grabbed it, the others have an air of entitlement, simlpy put, if they want it bad enough, then pull their fingers out and fight for it, because to me, their a lazy bunch of fecks on too much money too soon-and count to 10!

Agree with both comments. Grealish is an outstanding talent and we are lucky to have him. It was obvious to most if not all Villa fans he was worth persisting with. The same cannot be said for some of the other youngsters at the moment. We do have some good youngsters and a very good youth development system but realistically you can't expect 4, 5 or 6 players to come through all at the same time. No club has that luxury. Playing them in the cup comps is the right thing to do and if they then consistently perform they deserve a chance. I wouldn't risk playing them in the league unless we have to or we're 3 - 0 up with 20 minutes to go. Bringing Green on Wednesday in a tight game which could have gone either way was a gamble that nearly backfired. Not blaming him for Brentford's 2nd goal but he went missing for the lat 10-15 minutes of the game and we can't afford that.
