Watched the game today, understand all the caveats, however I thought the midfield looked lightweight, yes hourihane scored a couple of goals, however he hasn't got the engine to track back. it's obviously early days however based on the last couple of games I can see why Southampton let targett go. Early days but it's not going to be an easy ride.

I’m not so sure I agree Cafu.
I thought target had a good, not amazing game, but considering he is new to club, a left winger who doesn’t track back in front of him, I thought it was positive.

Can’t really criticise that midfield, as either of both new midfielders brought wasn’t available.

It’s the top line that is of concern to me. desperate for a goal scorer.

We weren’t great yesterday, Heaton had to make 2 worldie saves, but we won, so winning when your not on form is a good sign.

I agree with Flackie on this scotty.
For a new addition I thought he was ok yesterday, and has been all pre-season.
Scotty you say you can see why Southampton let Targett go, why is that then.
Leicester have let Maguire go, is that because he lacks something?

Dave I think 80 mill had something to do with the Maguire move, targett was surplus to requirement.

Ok then 80m probably had something to do with it.
I will give you another example to make my point.
We got rid of Idrissa Gueye, he then miraculously became a good player.
Southampton wanted the money mate, as did all the other teams we have done business with.
Listen to videos of Southampton supporters as to whether he was a good player or not.

Dave hope targett does well, just have my reservations, let's see how things pan out. Any idea why Steer didn't feature at all yesterday.

Not sure scotty, he was not on the bench either, so I would imagine he might be carrying a knock or something.
I like Steer, but "hey" Heaton was good yesterday.
