Deano`s choice I know but to use more of our new boys
this is the team I would like to see on the pitch against
the Cherries on Saturday, it would also give us that bit of physicality that we
missed on Saturday.
Played in a 4.1.3.2 formation to give Wesley that support I
think he needs until he finds his feet.
Although steady Hourihane is not the player Nakamba is, Nakamba is a ball winner
and breaks up attacks well, he is very good going forward and can pass the ball well
making him a great caltalyst for counter attacks.
Luiz I think would be the calming influence as well as a creative figure, giving us
some flair and class in midfield.
I think Trez has shown enough to suggest that in a free role just behind
Wesley would feed very well of loose pickings, and maybe score more goals
than the big man.
The bench would cover any eventuality if needed.

Hause at left back is like Axel at right back, unnecessary. Use Targett when we need more going forwards and Taylor for defending, leave the other one out altogether. Hause is good for bench either way as versatile for CB or LB, same with Konsa for CB or RB.

rknewell, as stated this is a team for Bournmouth, not forever.
I would put Targett as left back normally but Hause is not out of place at LB you should know that.

My personal opinion is that he kind of is. He does a job but I think both our left backs are better suited there depending on what you need. His chances are going to be limited if we stick with a 4, could be that he'd fit well on the left of a 3 though.

I went on Saturday and as sad as I am I watched the game again today. Taylor did not have a good game at all, he was just less ineffective than usual. Just watch it for yourselves, he did nothing other than get close to Ming's for support. Hause can play left back, he can defend balls over the top and is height is invaluable at corners and he can cover Ming's if he adventures forward, Taylor does not tick any of these boxes. So Dave your team selection is spot on.

Thank you scotty, its maybe only till we get some points on the board.
We have the players why not try things, Hause played well when used as a LB last season.

Just because you don't hear their name every 5 seconds does not make them ineffective. What Taylor doesn't get credit for is his positioning.
A lot of the time he stops it coming his way just because of where he is or gets a crucial block or clearance solely because he saw the danger nobody else saw.
When I watched Hause last season he looked good in a tackle/ battle but his lack of foresight meant he was in them more than necessary. The difference in quality of the forwards and wide players at this level and I think it would show more clearly why he is less comfortable at LB than CB.
Also, if we're going to 'try things' would it not make more sense to fit the formation around the players rather than taking people away from their most comfortable position? A back 3 and I'd give Hause his chance in his favourable CB.
If you want him in, why not a 3-4-1-2, sacrifice Luiz or Nakamba for Targett. This would also cover the fact that neither of those 2 are really match fit yet so sub one for the other when tiring.

To be fair RK If you watch the match again for me Taylor was drifting more central rather than sticking to his position thus giving them plenty of space down the wing. He reminds me of Hutton a bit leaving loads of space down his side so the opposition can penetrate I'm sorry for me he is a weakness in our defence Targett or Hause for me.

RK, like Daz if you get the opportunity watch Saturdays game again you will see exactly how ineffective Taylor was. Good positional strength that you mention (which I don't agree that Taylor possesses) is not enough for any top league football. I don't necessarily want Hause in just Taylor out. Your suggestions if Targett and Taylor instead of Luiz and Marvelous doesn't make any sense.

I watched the match and they started going down Elmo's side a lot more which is why Conor was constantly being dragged out there. The tactic was clearly to not let them run in behind and Taylor kept the play in front of him so surely he did his job to the letter?
On the swap of players Scott, you will see I suggested a tweak to the formation so Targett would be the WB therefore leaving room for only 1 of the 2 so it definitely does make sense.

It is good to debate, and healthy for the forum.
What I understand is that we can not change each others minds no matter how hard we try.
Differing opinions on positions, players, and tactics etc, are what
makes football and our club special.

Agreed, like managers we all have our ideas on what makes a good/ great player (not that I think Taylor fits that bracket, just maybe not as bad as someone else would think) .
I've disagreed in the past the other way. Commentators regularly praising Ashley Young for his set pieces when I remember most of his Villa corners going out for throw ins for instance.
