I hate to be negative again but it seems Ian Hollaway " a man who knows the championship very well" has given a matter of fact verdict on the Championship outcome this term. He feels Newcastle will win it and to my mind not suprisingly he thinks Villa will finnish 16th or even relegated again! Players attitudes and the clubs lack of investment in the squad this summer his main reasons for that. Some of us on here have been saying it for weeks only to be shot down for dařing to have an oppinion or tell the truth. Well said Ian maybe Dr Xia will do something about it now with only five days to go to the start!? Shocking is what it is.

I think the reason people are shooting down all of the negative comments are because THE SEASON HAS NOT STARTED YET!
I believe, that the current squad we have are capable of winning the Championship if (and this is a big if) they get their heads straight and give their all. From a capability level, we have players that could blow this league apart and that includes the likes of Gabby and Lescott.
If our management team 'manages' the egos and attitudes in the correct way, which I am confident RDMT and SC can do, we don't necessarily need anyone else in.

My point is that, we have been mismanaged over the last 5 years and not all the blame for last years shambles should lie at the feet of the players!
Yes, they didn't turn up, yes, their attitude stunk, yes, they were a complete embarrassment, but were they reprimanded, were they dropped and their place under threat? we were all crying out for this to happen and some of the youth to be given a chance.
With the right management, some (not all) of these players could find their form and recognise their reputation that they came to Villa Park with.

That's exactly what they are, opinions. That doesn't mean they are right. Maybe we won't sign another player and we lose a heap of games, but maybe we make 2 or 3 key signings and we don't lose any. We don't actually know. As a fan I think we are all entitled to some hope, we have a new owner and manager and some good back room staff, can't we wait what happens in the transfer window and the first few games before the doom and gloom starts. It's not very often one of these pundits predicts the outcome of a league accurately.

Bang on the mark aruston! People will be on here going mad after we get a little lesson in Championship reality on Sunday! Just for the record by the way i am absolutely Villa til i die, which is why i am so appauled at what is not happening. i'm affraid we have a Chinese Lerner on board albeit with a bigger mouth!
