So we have an extremely abusive patronising contributer who labels many on here as "moronic, arrogant deluded*. Many of these me included are" time served"loyal fans who have the audacity to criticise people who earn in a lifetime what managers and players earn in less than a year. So should we sit tight lipped and gagged when we see so much ineptitude from our players and coaches, I don't think so. don't criticise when players can't string three passes together in fear of the atmosphere "becoming toxic" the cliche "get out of the kitchen if it gets too hot* springs to mind. So excuse me if we have a manager that can't motivate or select a team capable of performing, players that can't string passes together then i am going to have my say both on here and in the ground and i think rightly so.

You talk so much sense and know so much, why aren’t you in a job within football? why aren’t you finding players who can handle the heat? why aren’t you showing them how to string 3 passes together? Beyond me. You are a fountain of knowledge and because you haven’t spent so much time watching Villa you have the right to talk whatever brainless thought pops into your head.

Scotty, you may have been patronised but certainly not abused, I might add not by me.
To be honest I don’t think anyone could motivate the players we have, ok most new managers have a honeymoon period as we had some weeks ago, but more often than not that quickly evaporates and players steadily fall back into the patterns they are happily familiar with, “give me the money thanks”
Dean Smith has inherited a group of players that quite clearly cannot carry out his idea`s, the squad he has were more accustomed to playing a more mundane game than the one Dean Smith wants to play, this is mainly where the problem lies.
1. You seem to think along with others that he is not up to the job, or that he is not capable of organising his team and methods.
Can I ask does that mean you think he should have to change and abandon the footballing ideas he strongly believes in, remember these are the attributes that attracted us to him in the first place, open attacking football.
Or my preferred option.
2. Should we give Dean Smith every ounce of support we can muster, and let the man manage his team, and then let him start the rebuilding process he longs for and is eager to do.
I know which I prefer, even if it does mean a longer wait.
And by the way his comments after the games are not from a man who is clueless, they are carefully thought about and are surely meant to support his players, as well as pacify us the fans, after all he can`t trash his team in front of the media can he, he would get hammered for that as well.

It's all about opinions as you both always sprout on about scot is entitled to his as your are to yours ridiculing someone who took time to write on here is wrong in my opinion and as you put it Chris why are you not involved in football if your opinion is always correct?
