Nigel Spink has apparently said on WM phone in on Monday night, that he thinks Villa will be looking to sign "4or 5" new players in January.
I didn't hear the programme myself . Just wondering if anyone on here did and what we think of it.?

Who would you want Andy? I'd want a right back centre back, a striker on loan and then a big money centre mid who will come in hit the ground running the way kodja has! If we had to pick realistic I'd go for Gunter from reading or Dominic iorfa from wolves. Then Jordan Rhodes for the striker, tom Huddlestone will Hughes or loftus cheek for the mid and can't really think of a centre back but we have got Toner coming back so that may not be crucial!

2.) 07 Dec 2016 10:57:07
Hey mate i think bruce will want to get his own men in which is only natural his been stuck with rdm players and let's face it judging only by the league table it wasnt that a successful summer in my view. I do still belive we will go up but we need to win away games as well. Thanx for the support again earlier. players i would like nathan dyer shane long pantilmon russel martin and hoolahan. UTV VTID.

3.) 07 Dec 2016 11:59:25
I've been saying since Ron Atkinson left! that we need 2 TOP QUALITY midfielders. And I've seen nothing so far this season to change my mind.
Westwood has and always will be a 4outof10 player and I'm really sad to say that Gardener is not much better. A RB Trippier perhaps and how about having a go for Benik Afobe, Bakhary Sakho or Hernandez from Hull?
Also I know many will disagree with me, which is fine, but I would speak to Berahino and see if he wants to put himself in the Claret and Blue shop window, ready for when his contract with the Tesco bag snatchers finally runs out in July. Fit, slim and keen he could provide much needed goals and make himself a headline grabber again. If he's not, he can waste away in Oldbury.

4.) 07 Dec 2016 12:55:57
Double from Hull. Elmohamady and snodgrass. Cairney from Fulham or will Hughes. Job done.

5.) 07 Dec 2016 15:30:09
Nathan dyer not a player for the positions we need but that's a great shout, he'd be brilliant.

6.) 08 Dec 2016 00:03:57
I kept thinking we need to buy a rightback but then remembered when he's fit again we have de leat coming back so i tjink we do need a right back but has to be a loan. Same as striker on loan only. Think we need a more experienced keeper as we all say so would like the Chelsea back up bergorvic buy or loan. Again we say it week in week out that CM spot needs fixing ASAP and wouldn't it be just our luck we go city and get another loaned in 🐍🐍.

7.) 08 Dec 2016 09:10:07
Can't see delph coming back mate, I said when he left he'd be at Swansea or Crystal Palace within 3 seasons and so far it's looking a good bet, pep guardiola must have thought he was one of the kitmen when he showed up!

8.) 08 Dec 2016 14:42:33
Hope he don't but would sum up our luck.

Apparently club's are trying to lure Rushian Hepburn-Murphy away at the end of this season. It is said that he has refused to sign the contract that has been offered to him, which we have no details of at this stage.
Now, I wonder what you chaps make of this.?
IMO, he looks like a good prospect. I've only seen him play on a handful of occasions but straight away he impressed me. A bit like Mark Walters did when I first saw him.
However, at just 18 should he be holding out for more cash? Should he firstly get established in the 1st team squad, make a name for himself and then seek a better contract? Does he see the possible return of Agbonlahor as a barrier to breaking into the first team or is he just being greedy?
let's have some views boys.

AndyPF

1.) 14 Nov 2016 07:26:08
Read it was rangers after him and the Dr is annoyed because we will get less money him going there then another English club. also the kid want to get where he can get first team football, he's been pushed back in the pecking order behind Gabby.

2.) 14 Nov 2016 22:23:41
Through a friend who's in the know about some stuff, Hepburn Murphy is moving to a new home that is handy for Bodymoor Heath, doesn't suggest to me that he's off imo

UTV.

3.) 15 Nov 2016 06:49:04
At 18 you would probably expect him to have more first team experience, especially now we're in championship! Wouldn't be a huge loss imo.

4.) 16 Nov 2016 21:06:13
Its good to keep young talent. However from the lmited times I've seen him, he hasn't appeared to be hot enough to keep a place in the first team. He isn't Dwight Yorke yet.

DIRE. SHOCKING. WORRYING.
And that's just the midfield.

12 Dec 2016 22:58:30
Robbie Brady anyone? Sounds good to me!

AndyPF

1.) 13 Dec 2016 00:01:51
wouldnt say no but are we a better team than norwich at the moment? other than money what is the main draw for him?

2.) 13 Dec 2016 00:35:42
Money is a huge factor. Everything about our club is bigger and better than Norwich. If our team is not better than Norwich at the moment, then wait until the end of January.
It will be then.

3.) 13 Dec 2016 06:56:34
Would absolutely love him if this is true mate, we was linked in the summer but didn't happen, proper winger for the left side gets forward and back, and can beat the first man on corners!

11 Dec 2016 19:05:41
Ok boys here's a question : If the Doctor said to you that you had to sell 5 players, who would they be?
Mine would be Gestede Agbonlahor Richards Westwood and Ayew.

AndyPF

1.) 11 Dec 2016 20:41:04
depend why i'm selling? is it because i'm allowed to replace them with whoever i wanted? if so agbonlahor, kozak, richards, hutton, bunn, maybe even bacuna. might even go as far as sanchez and veretout.

2.) 11 Dec 2016 21:03:11
Mine would be Gabby, Westwood, bunn, Kodak and cissoko. Then I'd sign a covering left back, a first team right back, a top class centre mid, Robbie Brady and Jordan rhodes on loan.

3.) 11 Dec 2016 22:28:58
I would sell Richards, Gabby, Kozak, Cissokho.

4.) 12 Dec 2016 12:05:50
Sell: Kozak, Gabby, Cissokho, bunn and Richards.
Buy: Carl Jenkinson, a CM, a back up LB (already had bennet) and Rhodes Loan.

29 Nov 2016 09:01:50
How about Berahino on loan till the end of the season boys?
To me it might just make sense. His contract with the Tesco bag snatchers is up at the end of the season. So it would a a real opportunity for him to get his name back in the headlines for the right reasons.

AndyPF

1.) 29 Nov 2016 10:19:44
I can see why because the talent is undoubtably there but I think 1 problem player is enough an we've got Gabby so I'd rather see someone with more professionalism coming in, not turning up a stone overweight.

2.) 29 Nov 2016 19:10:13
We don't need another forward. And if we did, we wouldn't need another one that is overweight with an attitude problem.

3.) 29 Nov 2016 20:51:12
And if we did need one of those, obviously we'd put 'Mr Still Know It All' up front ;)

4.) 29 Nov 2016 22:53:16
Just for that iam not buying you a pie mate lol. UTV.

5.) 30 Nov 2016 00:31:24
Good to hear everyone's opinions 👍👍.

6.) 30 Nov 2016 10:51:54
wouldnt say no but its not what we need.

10 Nov 2016 20:16:13
Who do we think is the best midfielder in the Championship? IMO it's Shelvey.
Any thoughts chaps?

AndyPF

1.) 10 Nov 2016 20:54:28
Shelvey good when you give him time, useless when you close him down early. I prefer Lansbury, or Hughes the young lad from Derby, both attacking, can defend, every pass in the locker and know when to just move it quickly, perfect for the championship. Shelveys good don't get me wrong but more suited to the prem. oh I nearly forgot Westwood head and shoulders above them all;)

2.) 10 Nov 2016 21:55:44
Good shout Chris 👍.

3.) 11 Nov 2016 00:18:44
Best player i would have to agree Shelvey great passing abilty can open up teams on his own. I think we have 1 of the worst midfield in the league but bruce is doing a fab job getting any points with our midfield feel really sorry for him.

4.) 11 Nov 2016 00:33:51
Agree Mr SKIA. 👍 I'm sure SB will sort it in Jan. We can launch a real challenge with a much better midfield.

5.) 11 Nov 2016 04:27:44
will Hughes for me.

6.) 11 Nov 2016 08:22:48
If it was up to me I'd get Lansbury and Hughes at all cost, they'd both come because things that have happened at their club, sort a striker for while AFCON is on, and a right back and I think we're on our way to automatic promotion, if we could pinch a Robbie Brady, forrestieri or knockeart then all the better to add something different.

7.) 11 Nov 2016 09:43:46
Even with our midfield as it is I still think we can nick it at Brighton.
It's certainly a big game for us. If we can avoid defeat against a team in form great. A win, even greater.
I'll be there anyway in my Speedos and flip-flops so I hope the weather picks up. 😎.

8.) 12 Nov 2016 23:39:50
I think Hughes is over rated
Dale Stephens one of best for me and shelvey.

Its ok Chris, McCarthy would be good signing . But at this point I think that the press will throw loads of names about.
I said week's ago that IMO if we could manage to keep in touch with the playoffs then we would be able to attract top players in January. This will be difficult to achieve. We're not playing particularly well and teams will try to park the bus against us.
Luckily, we have a run of games that we should be able to pick up a few wins from. A win at Norwich would be massive result . Massive.
I'll e there biting my nails again and up for work at 6 on Wednesday. Madness at my age but I love it .

Seems to be quite a few names linked with us and as we approach Xmas the list will get longer.
For me, we need 2 midfielders above anything else. One creative and one to help out Jedinak who was our best player again over the 90 minutes yesterday.
Westwood and Gardener both not good enough.
A win at Norwich and its lift off. And then the list of those wanting to join will be a mile long.

I think that these next 2 games are hugely important. We simply must beat Wigan and not lose at Norwich.
Neither will be easy so our players need to be determined focused and ready to fight to the bitter end. If they do we'll be fine. If they don't me and Mr. SKIA will be giving it large on the moaning 😂😂.

Good stuff Chris 👍 Jeffrey Schlupp has been mentioned by press as a possibility. If true, that would be a really good signing. But we all know about press rumours! However, if it were true he's a left footed pacy winger with pedigree . Just what we need.

Neither Chris, necessarily. i'd sign 2 real top quality midfielders, left winger and a RB to replace Hutton and vary the formations from week to week according to who the opposition is.
If the players are good enough, they will adapt to any formation.
