If the rumours about Sam Johnson are right
Wouldn't you just sign him and take a smack on the wrist if the F.A
I am sure it would be a couple of million fine
Which is a drop in the ocean if we get back to the premier league.

Charmed

1.) 02 Jan 2018 17:05:15
I’ve been thinking that about FFP, QPR spent whatever they want the year they went up and 2 years later got a tiny fine (I Think) so we might aswell break it by what 4mil to solve fill a position that’s been a problem for years, and with his age, if we tie him down to a lengthy deal we would be sorted for years! And if someone wanted to sign him he’s young English and be worth a shed load.

2.) 02 Jan 2018 22:00:34
£4 appears to be the price banded around by the media. Of corse, nobody knows his value, which I guess would be whatever a club is prepared to pay for him. Personally, I would estimate for a player of his potential, and the way he has played this season and most of last, that even £15 million would not be far off. If united have offered him a new contract, I can’t imagine they needed to tempt him by including a £4m release clause. My hope is that he stays at villa this season then signs permanently. My guess, is that he will do exactly that.

3.) 03 Jan 2018 08:21:03
They’ve only got a 1 year extension on his deal, that’s why it’s 4mil, because next season in January he’ll be free to sign terms with anyone and in the summer of 2019 he can leave for free. We seem to be good at targeting deals like this, we paid penny’s (in today’s market) for Hourihane, Lansbury and Bjarnsson, got JT on a free. If we pull this one of either this window or in the summer, for anything less than 7mil then we’ve done excellent again.

4.) 03 Jan 2018 11:28:30
According to Tony Xia, Sam Johnstone wants to play for Aston Villa, which is great. Tony Xia said that Johnstone is going nowhere, and that he will be a permanent player for us when we qualify for Premier League this season. The West Bromwich Albion rumour is not true.

5.) 03 Jan 2018 22:19:57
easy answer is go to sam see what he wants to do and if he really only wants to play for villa then he tells utd. they can't make him sign for another team and even if they accept a bid off west brom or whoever he can just say no to contract,

personally i think its all rubbish and just talk to force our hand into a bid.

I think we need to calm down a bit, Bruce needs this window and then we can be more critical. We know yesterday was poor. McCormack needs service. Elphick is a liability at times.

Midfield was over run. We missed Kodjia. Looking on the web at rumours linked to Aston Villa. Hourihane deal is done.

Midfield - Lansbury deal was agreed. not the clubs fault forest sacked the manager and the takeover fell thought. If Rowett becomes manager I am not sure Lansbury will come before the summer.

Rhodes is being heavily linked again. Bruce has done well with the tools he had
Baker back for Elphick. Johnson bought in for Gollini, Gestede gone.

Don Goodman commented yesterday, "Bruce is playing catch up for the bad start under previous manager". At the end of Feb we can be more critical. Tony Xia will spend and back Bruce. The chairman wants the same as us. With the rumours circling Bruce knows what he needs and will get it

Charmed

1.) 15 Jan 2017 11:49:15
Only thing negative about Bruce so far is that it's two weeks in an we've only loaned a keeper, and the timing of the Gustede sale. Which is both just as much the board as him, needs to get his players in this week before we end up forfitting another 3 points.

2.) 15 Jan 2017 14:21:30
The villa is to big a job for Bruce,
He has no idea for me,
He rants at the players every game yet nothing changes?
Never was my choice was prepared to see if he can take us forward,
All I can see is a negative manager and the football on view is worse than ever,
We will see if things get better after bringing in his own players,
But remi garde got dogs abuse and he never brought in any players,
But Bruce went down in my book when he continues to play gabby as our main goal threat?
And he has the brass neck to praise his performances?

3.) 15 Jan 2017 15:19:53
To big a job for him, but thankfully you where prepared to give him a chance!
Have a word with your self!

He plays gabby as at the minute that is all he has, as our previous manager brought players that are in the African cup of nations.
Justhead doesn't count, as he is trying to replace him, and it isn't his fault a deal isn't done yet. so you seriously think he can't see what needs replacing?

If read some crap in my life, but bob you take the biscuit
We went backwards under garde, as in was worse than before he came.
Are you seriously saying we haven't improved with Bruce?

Did you think a guy could come in, click his fingers and repair the damage done to the club over the last 5 years?

4.) 15 Jan 2017 16:38:54
Spot on flackie your right some people think its as easy as playing champ man

5.) 15 Jan 2017 16:03:25
Bob you said "he screams at the players every game but nothing changes", to me that means they are not doing what they are asked, hence he's shouting at them, an then they aren't listening hence nothing changes, to everyone else on the planet that says certain players have bad attitudes and too big an ego to perform for us. But not to you Bob, that tells you it's too big a job for Steve Bruce, well done mate, you've done well there.

6.) 15 Jan 2017 18:36:47
Flackie, It`s not all he has though is it mate!
Everton gave two kids a chance today and bingo both scored.

7.) 15 Jan 2017 20:05:41
Perhaps he doesn't feel they are ready or to the required level.
I'm not suggesting for one second that gabby deserves a chance, I actually think the exact opposite.

But if in the managers eye he feels that he is a better option than the others, that is why he is there.
Rhm would be given the chance. but feels that he is already made it, and is demanding more a week at his age, than most people earn a year. Thankfully we have a guy who won't be held over a barrel.

I don't have the answers. I don't claim to. But what I won't do, and find when people do laughable, is hang the guy out to dry, blame him for everything, when he is working with players he had no input in signing.

We finally have a manager he runs the whole club to do with the football side. We are on the edge of finally turning the corner after the last five + years, and already people are trying to burn him at the stake!

Why would any new player ever want to sign for villa? We have at least 3 managers a year!
One mistake you get pelters
Everyone rides you unless you can win every game single handed.

The pressure on any new potential signing must be over bearing!
And we can't understand why no one signed yet?
Unless you supported villa, why would you put yourself through it?

8.) 15 Jan 2017 21:33:36
All that said Flacks, I am in total agreement with you about Bruce, I love the bloke and think he is the man for us without question.
I am just a bit miffed as to why Gabby is playing, and why Bruce will not gamble on more young players, surely they can`t be as bad as Agbonlahor, we are playing with 10 men when he is on the field.
Let`s face facts here, paying 10,15,20mil will not guarantee a gem.
I am convinced we have lost ground in this division simply because we have not been cavalier enough with our team selection, just my thoughts mate.

9.) 15 Jan 2017 21:58:04
I agree with all you say in that post mate.
But the thing is, Bruce knows this as well, has no alligence to gabby, and sees the younger players. yet still picks him.

That says as bad as gabby is, he is in Bruce's eyes better than the other options.

That's why he was made manager, it's his call. And our job to trust him.

10.) 15 Jan 2017 22:15:39
Yeh, that's when it becomes a problem.
I trust the wife, but don't agree with her.
This message will self destruct in 10 seconds. (I hope)

11.) 15 Jan 2017 22:53:37
No comment! Lol

12.) 16 Jan 2017 23:51:11
Gabby is well past his best and it's very baffling that Bruce feels he can make a difference! I still think Bruce is the man to get us up but he needs to act quickly and make those signings happen or its curtains this season. He's had a few months to identify targets and has the financial backing so no excuses. Come on Brucey let's be having you!

13.) 17 Jan 2017 07:51:34
The whole blame Gabby for everything is a distraction from the real problem, no midfield! Oh its snowing damn it that's Gabby again.

14.) 19 Jan 2017 19:07:41
Big C Gabby is past it son and by the way still collecting £3 million a year! Enough said ey

07 Jul 2016 08:43:36
Was driving down the road Drayton Manot is on 230-245 6 / 7/ 16 towards m42
100% sure joe Bennett pulled out of the
Road on the left towards Bodymoor Heath
In a Range Rover
Is he still on the books
did he do it for Brighton last year

He got pelleted at villa
A championship player at best but we are there now
Any thoughts
Richardson to small Heath
Love it.

1.) 07 Jul 2016 10:29:43
Only saw him have one good game for villa vs Chelsea when we won 1-0 a few seasons ago.

04 May 2016 18:23:06
The under 18 squad were playing a local college team 3-05-16 at Bodymoor
On the next pitch was gabby, Stan, Nzogbia and Okore training with the under 21's
At the end of the match Stan, Westwood, and Nzogbia came over to chat to the college team
No photos were allowed in fact all phones etc were locked away in the changing rooms
They reckon the next manager was being interviewed or was at Bodymoor
Problem was nobody saw anybody.

Charmed

1.) 04 May 2016 19:24:00
Announcement imminent very very good source didn't say manager or owner I'm thinking owner tho watch for

2.) 05 May 2016 08:44:24
not till after last game there won't be.

3.) 05 May 2016 08:54:28
Did your source give any clue as to time scale? Imminent simply means 'about to happen' which in Villa terms is equal to the length of a piece of string.

4.) 05 May 2016 09:22:21
I'm being told as I have been for a while now both owner and manager is done and will be announced once season is over.

5.) 05 May 2016 11:11:16
But if it's done deal, what difference would it make announcing it now or when season is over?

6.) 05 May 2016 12:17:02
just gives them a bit of time to look at it and put plans together. Pearson has been looking at what he needs and talking to them. then when it's all announced they can crack on as time is short. it basically gives em a few weeks without us fans expecting anything.

15 Mar 2016 17:29:00
I see the cull has began with the sacking of, Hendrik Almstadt
The clear out is 12 months to late
But is if a sign of things to come to rebuild the club for next year
Do we need to lobby Downing Street or will a certain villa fan Mr Cameron
Bring back FOX hunting.

Charmed

1.) 15 Mar 2016 17:37:55
That's the best post for ages!
Actually spat my tea out I was drinking!!

2.) 15 Mar 2016 18:30:26
1 down and a few more to follow hopefully! As u say charmed pity it's a year too late!

3.) 16 Mar 2016 17:06:47
Is this confirmed?

4.) 16 Mar 2016 17:32:05
Fox hunting?
I don't think so!.

5.) 17 Mar 2016 06:57:31
Very good .
However what about this guy Armole?

6.) 17 Mar 2016 18:25:13
Had a word with Dave and he must have had a word with
Tom as he has gone
Shame I fancied trotting up Witton road
On a trusty white stead
Red jacket and a horn
Better have a word with Boris now about BREXIT
let's see if this will have em swimming across the channel
Mind you our lazy players would opt for the Chunnel

Not sure who is making changes at villa park but I like it
Whether a clear out for new owners
Or
Randy realises he has been take for a ride when he turned his back and trusted others

I expect Tom Fox, Paul Faulkner, Hendrik Almstatd and soon hopefully Paddy Riley can play football manager together again on a computer rather than the our beloved Aston Villa.

7.) 17 Mar 2016 18:54:07
Yeeeeoooooo. one more to go and then hopefully boys who know how to take our club forward put in!

Kodjia on 87.5% successful pass ratio
8 attempted passes
7 successful
Will give Micheal Carrick a run for his money on that stat mr lambert
All joking apart
Not getting excited and predicting play offs
But
Last two games we have started to get that little bit of luck we have been missing so far this season
I thought Hutton Green jedinak Lansbury were exceptional last night
Chester and baker and Taylor were solid
Adoma looked a threat
Hourihane followed up for the goal well
We don't usually get enough bodies in the box

Sorry Sam Johnson a couple of wonder saves but needs more games under his belt little nervous and wasteful with a few kicks.

Charmed

1.) 01 Mar 2017 19:53:55
Heard one or two grumblings on the Holte when Kodjia was on a run and trying to beat players. Comments about passing and greedy!? Need to get off his back and appreciate sometimes the greediness makes the opportunities and creates space and mistakes! I for one want him to Harrass defences. He did pass and got the balance right last night. Sublime header!

2.) 02 Mar 2017 06:26:59
Hi nick
Was tongue in cheek
Yes we like to see Kodjia run
But trying to run though 4 players
Second half against Bristol in the centre circle isn't great
His lack of effort to get back on side must drive Bruce and fellow players Barmy
He scores great goals but no tap ins.

3.) 02 Mar 2017 11:22:56
Thats why he had the nickname mr hollywood.

4.) 02 Mar 2017 19:07:49
Think confidence started to show more and don't want that being stemmed by not letting JK loose.

5.) 02 Mar 2017 21:19:33
I think you've got it spot on Charmed, he is no doubt a great player but sometimes, he can be guilty of holding onto the ball much too long, his greediness does sometimes get him goals but you have to get the balance right. His play for our second goal is exactly what we need, beat his man, power agression and then a cool head to lay it off.

When we're winning he does fade, 70th minute hit and he was just constantly offside, not getting into anything unless it was pin point to him. Watched Che Adams for the blues the day before, no where near as good as Kodija but could show him a thing or two about energy and closing down.

6.) 03 Mar 2017 08:36:05
Couldn't have put it better
I see Bunn could be in for a recall for Rotherham
Not sure where Amarvi back in for Taylor comes from
Villa must go back for Kalinac or smith from QPR if a serious bid for promotion is planned for next season
The 3 teams coming down this year will have the same culture shock as we had
Awful referees and linesman
Get away with most kicks punches pinches and proper fouls not given
And channel 5 highlights
Although she is better to look at than shearer and co
Happy days.

15 Feb 2017 07:15:55
I posted yesterday about Kodjia not passing
He did try to pass first half and it was woeful
Scored a great goal
But my point yesterday
Second half
Hogan arms out again to Kodjia
A couple of times
Worse
Hogan turned to the bench and same gesture to the bench
Not picking on Kodjia but a theme is developing here
The league have Sussed Amarvi Barnsley hit him every opportunity
Why the Lansbury substitution.

Charmed

31 Jan 2017 19:33:37
Feel sorry for Westwood
He never hid and gave 100%
Was exciting when he first came
Ray Wilkins ruined him and taught him to play side ways
Will remember your goals
Will remember the penaltys you gave away
All the best Ashley

I heard the McCormack rumour off a steward yesterday
Gabby worked hard and tracked back but no one was playing off him
Grealish put 3 great balls across and if we would have had David Platt running in we would have scored 3
No midfield runners
Andre green did well but missed a sitter 1st half
And to be fair we should have been 4 up first half
When the PNE player picked the ball up and ran at us for the first goal the whole of villa park knew they would score typical villa goal to give away
2nd goal not blaming baker because of previous heroics heading the ball if the line
But
Grealish poor
Bench not strong enough
Amarvi head has been turned
Oh and McCormack
I have problems with my gates this time of year
If you google gate automation in Halesowen
There is a helpful company
It is usually the capacitor part 041F0096 10ph 230 v
In the electric box
2 wires to change it do 1 at a time so you get them correct
Make sure you turn the power off first
And you normally have a large Allen key for a manual over ride
So easy mrs Charmed had done it
But if you are struggling i am sir Steve Bruce will pop over and give you a hand now he knows where you live

I agree
I expect the players will have an extra yard of pace on Saturday
Maybe from all accounts Remi looked the calm, suave and dignified Frenchman but he possibily could have been as stubern as a mule
If your face didn't fit la guillotine for you
Not excusing the players as they are 90% to blame as they are professionals and they haven't even gone though the motions this season
but we all said there was no motivation from Remi
And after Liverpool he looked like a rabbit in the headlights
The players must pick up on this
With fox and Riley the people who employed Remi
And Learner no where to be seen who would they voice there concerns to?
No way an excuse for the players but with 2 fit again within a day of the sacking it makes you wonder.

Sorry no have watched Remi Garde this season I agreed with most and thought he may be able to mould these misfits together
After 3 games where the new manager effect should work
It didn't
He doesn't move of the bench
No motivation no nothing if reports are correct and he never spoke to the players from Wednesday onwards to the Swansea game that is pathetic

Lambert was ok until he was pep in Germany and then stats stats and more stats became more important than points

Tim nice but dim
Clueless. He is the reason we are here
Leicester Stoke palace Swansea all dropped points de to lack of tatics.

Hi all
Pearson Pullis Bruce Dyce Rogers
All names on the usual management merry-go round
Really like the shaping up of the new board
Wasn't sure what The Genral was doing back after his earlier comments about player commitment but they comments were true
Perhaps learner is keeping a closer eye than the last muppets
We really are at odds over who we want as a manager
But who would want Villa
The Bruce thing is a non starter due to the his link to Small Heath
Pullis who knows but I have friends at the Albion and they loath him
Pearson Flackie and Mendax don't fancy him he is a nutter but wouldn't take any **** from anybody and demands 110% and yes he struggled at Leicester for a couple of years but laid s foundation as he did at Southampton
Rogers jury is out
The only thing I think is nailed on is nobody will take it before the end of the season it will be K Mac and Little
Tony Parks and KMac did the cup game at Southampton
That wasn't the best
No manager will won't relegation on there CV
If they take the reins now it is certain it will be on it
Carry on the board though Reily Gabby Lescott Richardson Guzan need to be part of the Cull.

Hi ChrisAVFC
it is a bit garbled
Never lambert
Kept Guzan
Goalkick routine was awful
Match of the day laughed at it
Should have shut up shop against Chelsea
Stats mean nothing
We had 12 points under lamberts start of the one season until the change of style to suit stats
Finally
Lambert loses against blues.

No, Came good ideas good start to season. Went to see Pep who helped change the style. We were a laughing stock with the goal

Remember Chelsea 8-0

Totally agree about Kodjia
Not realising the ball
Physically he is rapid but in the head he isn't there.
Polar opposite to Gareth Barry
If you watch kodjia he takes that half a second to react instead of reading the game and the path of the ball.
He seems on his heels and his pace over the first 10 yards allows him to do this
I genuinely believe if it wasn't for his goals we would be on his back
McCormack is the best finisher in the championship
Better than hogan gale Kodjia
Scores for Forrest on debut
Kodjia finished McCormack before they got started by not realising the ball
It will only be a matter of games before Hogan has the same problem
The arms came out on Saturday towards Kodjia as Hogan was asking why did you pass
I watched Morrison for the baggies last week point to where he wanted the ball
Pass made by striker Morrison runs on goal
Grealish done it against forest
Kodjia would shoot.
