It's been a bit quiet lately. Anyone know of any transfer in and out of the club happening?

Cjr

1.) Only thing i've seen recently is Feynoord have bid to take El Ahmadi back to Holland. Probably for pennies but better to get rid of desd wood, especially if he wants out.

2.) 26 Aug 2014 10:52:07
Surprised to hear Gardner's gone to Brighton for the season. Only real striker cover we had after Benty. Perhaps someone is coming in?

3.) Gardner is a central midfield player Dru

4.) 26 Aug 2014 15:30:20
Gardner would be our best midfielder given some playing time PL you are a idiot, Westwood nowhere near his class Cole won't cut it Richardson Sendross will be found out, Fulham went down and did not want then and when will we play some good football, Fed Up

5.) I think I'm probably going to be in the minority here, but I really do not get the fuss that a lot of villa fans make over Gardner. I know he was injured last year, but he is 22 now. In this day and age that is old enough to have broken into the first team by now. And I would say if he hasn't done it by now then he probably won't. I've seen him play and yeh, he looks ok. But if he was good enough, he would've been pushing hard for the first team before last season when he was injured. PL wouldve given him the chance. Grealish is 18 and is breaking into the first team bit by bit. And not looking out of place I might add. we've had so many false dawns with youth players being overhyped and overrated, craig gardner was the same, and don't forget the Moore brothers! Gary, in my opinion, is the same. He might carve out a career as a dependable premier league player eventually, but he isn't the next big thing that most villa fans seem to be pinning their hopes on.

6.) Come on jk, PL is not an person but he is the manager of AVFC and is doing a reasonable job under severe restrictions on finance.
Senderous was picked by BBC pundits into the prem. team of the week so he cannot be that bad.
If you were a Man U supporter I could understand your attitude but it is a bit early to be slagging off the manager because he allows a talented player out on loan to give him game time but he will be back come January.
Wake up, smell the flowers, as at the moment they are quite sweet.

7.) What a load of shit, at least get facts correct.
Fulham wanted, but couldn't afford.
Senderos was in Italy, and Richardson, when fit was one if a few bright sparks.
Gardener is only there until jan, purely for game time.

We are villa fans, grow up and get behind the team. If you can't do that, at least give us the respect if actually doing your home work, and not just talk wank

8.) I think you make a good point Lovespud
As poor a judge of a player as I think Lambert is in terms of buying players, I doubt even he could overlook a class act that was under his nose
Perhaps Gardner is really not showing it in training

9.) The loan move makes sense in my opinion. The boy needs match time. If he can prove himself in League 1 then he will come back a better player. I also thought it was only a 4 month loan.

10.) Agree love spud but villajk what do you want more from villa at the moment. It sounds like your expecting us to win the league or something. Westwood is a much better player than Gardner, in fact how often has Gardner actually played? Maybe 5 starts as a guess. I don't see how you can call Paul lambert an person when you have seen him in a few games and he sees him every day in training. All lambert sis trying to do is help his career get back on track by giving him some game time. Us and tottemham are the only tea, s not to have conceded and we have 4 points from our first two games. AND YOU STILL can't FIND ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY. Fans like you really do make me laugh sometimes

11.) Sorry, Championship not League 1, oops.

12.) Gardner given the chance would be a very good player. Better now than all the midfielders except Delph.
Hopefully he will come back fit in January and get straight into the squad.

13.) Gardner is a quality player and will be but the first thing is for him to get some consisent competitive football under his belt. After he has done that he can think about breaking into the Villa team. He has had too many injuries during the start of his career but Brighton could be the right step for him and when he comes back he may become a better player and learn from his experience there.

14.) I agree with this loan move for gardener. This will really help him step up by getting some playing time. Look at how it helped players like Sturridge, wellbeck and courtois.

15.) 27 Aug 2014 15:43:26
Lets give it a few more games and see ,say 8,, PL is a person as was AM But both are bad managers imo ,Flackie or wank talk ,Fulham did not want sendross or Richardson to old glad to get off the wage bill, I support Villa want them to play well Good attractive football I don't expect us to win anything , watching good football only

16.) 29 Aug 2014 18:44:05
given the performance of lamberk in the foreign market I think we'll be fielidig 9 lunas one balaban and a djembe djembe every week the mans a buffoon wouldn't let him loose in a Calais hypermarket, with a fiver never min d buying some of the nobodies people keep posting about

17.) Going backto the gardner issue it'll be interesting how he can stay fitand not have his own allocated chair in the physio room like he did at villa park

10 Jun 2014 18:33:42
Rumours about Mitchell Donald and Nicklas Bendtner are gathering goal. Wouldn't mine Dnald but I'm not sure if Bendtner can hack ot in the premier league.

Cjr

1.) Gathering goal? first time bendtner and that saying ever been used tgether

2.) I meant to say gathering pace.

3.) Gathering pace? first time bendtner and that saying ever been used tgether

Torres to villa. Thoughts?

Cjr

1.) Can't see it happening, but it would be interesting to see if his Legs have gone or he was unhappy at Chelski.

2.) Dillusional

3.) Great. but if you're talking about Fernando, then not a prayer mate I'm afraid. Although he fits the AV profile. Can't score and would cost a ruddy fortune!

4.) He can't score behind the midfield that includes Hazard, Oscar, Willian and Schurlle
What chances would he have with KEA, Delph and Westwood loaded the bullets for him?
He'd probably end up as the first ever striker with a minus figure for goals scored at the end of a season.

Lerner is expected to give Lambert £10-£15 million to spend during the transfer window if a new owner hasn't taken over during the first couple of weeks. Lerner though wants some of this money to be generated through sales of players. The players who will be sold will either be our best players or the players that weren't used by Lambert last season. Lambert wants to sign Lescott on a free and has been heavily linked with Hernandez, Holtby, Klassen and Radosevic.

Cjr

1.) I think they are saying the bomb squad has been diffused so we can ask for more money when we sell them.

18 May 2014 16:29:29
Announcement expected to be made tomorrow regarding the future of the club. Also villa have been linked with Aaron Lennon would like to see him at the club.

Cjr

1.) Why would we want Lennon. Granted he's done well at Celtic but I think even Lambert could do that job. Hardly a tough task now Rangers are not in the same division.

{Ed007's Note - Hahahaha You've tried to post some garbage on here but that takes the biscuit! No wonder you don't leave a name.}

2.) Agree mate I've had too much sun lol

{Ed001's Note - I am sure he would find it easy if he ever did sign for Celtic, to be fair....}

3.) Don't think this guy realised Aaron lennon is a spurs winger, not Neil lennon the celtic manager,

JF villa4life

4.) That is one of the funniest things I've seen posted on here, please understand what you are posting beforehand it saves a lot of eggs from your face.

Benteke was useless today should of finished that chance in the second half. None of the strikers today looked bothered, I think Lambert needs to buy a striker or just leave. I think he has done the best job he could do his time appears up.

So we have had a bid accepted for Tom Cleverley. I'm not saying that he is a bad player because I think he does have some good qualities and he is better than some of the midfielders we currently have. But £8 million for him? That is a lot of money for someone who has been injured the last couple of seasons. I think that the £8 million could of been spent on a different player. But you never know he may prove me wrong and end up being worth loads and becoming an England regular.

Cjr

1.) 28 Aug 2014 22:38:41
Yeah agree 8 mill is a lot. However when you see price of players. Livermere was 8 million and Shane long 12 it's what price you pay for half decent players

2.) Imagine we could go back to yesterday and imagine I asked the question " what do you think of Cleverley at Man United? "
I doubt many would respond with "he's quality. Would be a snip at 8 million"
Put it in perspective. Alonso has just signed at Bayern for 5 million

3.) You're right Mendax, Alonso "seems" a bargain, but £5m doesn't tell the whole story. Can you imagine Alonso's wages compared to Tom Cleverley? I'd guess Alonso's wages are probably 5 if not 6 times those of TC. I think we have to consider what a particular package cost is of a player. It's not transfer fees that kill a club, it's the wages.

4.) 29 Aug 2014 16:29:09
Agreed Dru, but let's face it. With regard to the cost of Alonso, we'd have a 3 million quid headstart
However you cut it, Cleverly at 8 million is a bad buy

5.) Again Mendax you sum up the situation perfectly.
We need a thoroughbred not a workhorse.

So Aly Cissokho, Kieran Richardson, Joe Cole and Phillipe Senderos have been signed this summer. This is the experience that we have all been asking for and it has eventually came, they might not be the best quality of players but they have the experience. When Lambert was speaking about the signing of Aly Cissokho he said that he wants to sign one or two more players this summer to strengthen the sqaud. The only position that we need is a couple more midfielders hopefully Lambert actually sees sense and signs a strong midfielder for once. If we get a good strong midfielder I think that we could sustain a top 10 finish this season.

Cjr

1.) Are you drunk? We are still a poor side. Other teams around us are strengthening like so we will be again fighting at the bottom with Burnley qpr and Leicester.

2.) Would love to agree with you Cjr but I'm afraid I can't
We are still a team with no flair and Benteke aside have little up front
None of Lambert's buys have addressed this and in the case of centre back we may have improved in numbers but we've declined in quality (pretty incredible when you think of Clark and Baker)
A long hard season awaits and I fear it will end in relegation
That is unless we get bought soon, Lambert gets sacked and the new man can repair the collective damage of Lerner and Lambert in January. A tall order and not really likely

3.) I have to agree with you Cjr.
You have made a couple of good points and I hold the same enthusiasm as you do at this moment in time.
I am confident that we will be a better side this year, as I have said before.
I also think we might make another signing, maybe a playmaker that that will add more creativity to the side.
And if you are drunk, you are probably on the same grog as me.

4.) Sorry villadave but agree with Mendax in everyway

5.) Hi villajk.
So you also think we will be relegated!
I agree we lack a bit of flair, that is why I think an AM will be signed.
But relegation no way, I am amazed at the negativity.

6.) Yeah. mendax was spot on for me. Fordy.

7.) Hi Mendax, you state that we have reduced the quality at the back since last year. What about Okores, know he was a last year buy but he will be like a new player? Even you and me would have improved from Clark and Baker, but I think that Baker will learn from Vlaar and Okores, and I don't dismiss Senderous until I see what he does for us. As for Clark, I don't see anything for him and if he showed any promise another club would nave been in for him by now. Overall I look forward to a far better season providing we don't get our usual run of carp that we seem to have every year. Also I expect to see PL remain at VP even if we get a new owner.

8.) Hi old villain
Okore is certainly an interesting one but unproven in this league.
I was at the game yesterday and I will admit that Senderos was better than I feared (that would not be difficult however)
The middle of the park and upfront were very, very poor
I really don't want to negative about the team I
love but I don't want to lie about them either.
I fear the worst this season but I hope you are ramming humble pie down my throat in sbout 9 months time

9.) Forgot to add that Okore was said to be in the top 10 of buys at the start of last season. He was looked at by several top prem. clubs but overlooked as he is only 6ft 1in.
By my level that's a giant!

10.) Looking at him yesterday when he came on, everything looked a bit frantic and last minute if you know what I mean.
Not qualities I particularly like in a defender but I'd need to see more of him to make a real judgement

11.) I thought exactly the same Mendax, he was very erratic at times.
I suppose he needs more game time.
Lets hope that is the case anyway!

12 Jul 2014 23:23:13
Vlaar with another outstanding game as much as I don't want this to happen I think that he will be leaving. But the question is how much for? I think about £8-15m for him. A positive if we lose him will be that we have money to spend on players. A good defensive player and 2 more defenders and a winger and creative player and we will be sorted. Hopefully we keep hold of Concrete Ron though.

Cjr

12 Jul 2014 12:30:25
So now that we have signed Richardson, Senderos and Cole it is clear that lambert wants a holding midfielder. We have needed a holding midfielder for the last two seasons so hopefully we get someone good. Another question does anyone think that we will keep hold of Ron Vlaar? I think we will struggle to keep hold of him now that he has had an excellent World Cup but you never know.

Cjr

1.) Vlaar was pivotal for Holland so there is obviously going to be some interest; I would presume a fee of 8mil will see him leave VP. A holding midfielder such as Defour would be good as he has experience at the highest levels with Porto and Belgium,

Richards is a quality player just hasn't been given a chance in the Manchester city team. He would only cost about £2-4 million but it is just his wages and Sinclair wouldn't be a bad shout either.

Cjr

{Ed030's Note - I don't rate Richards, He's a big physical presence but his positioning, tackling and technical ability are not the best. However, He is versatile and is better than any current options so it wouldn't be a terrible transfer. }

Abdulrahman would only join on loan if it was with view to a pernament deal. Man United needs all the players they can get at the moment. And for you to say that N'Zogbia is poor is a bit harsh considering the fact that he is a creative player and play well yesterday as did the whole team. Also, Carlos Sanchez wouldn't replace N'Zogbia. N'Zogbia is a flair player, whilst Sanchez is a hard working, tough tacking midfielder.

Cjr

It's probably Lennon, Holtby or Naughton.

If Cissokho is to join Richardson could be deployed as a centre midfielder as he has played there before. But I'm guessing he won't be Number 9. So my question is who are we signing who will become our number 9?

I think we are all hoping that he gets out of the job quicker than the Hull game. I don't care that he has signed a four year contract or whatever it was we need a better manager. I agree that Cleverley isn't good enough but he will most likely be the first player Lambert signs in the transfer window. He doesn't have a clue and he needs to get out of the job like all the fans want him to.

Cjr

I would take all of them but it's just the wages of Natasic and Richards which we wouldn't be able to afford. They would all be great additions to the squad.

Looks like Holtby will be heading to either QPR or Crystal Palace.

No, Van Gaal might look at taking him to United due to the lack of defenders he has avaiable.

I agree with you Oldvillan we are looking like a decent team going into the season we just need to keep hold of Vlaar or at least get a decent amount of money for him.
