Here's one for you Villadave, if he agrees, and Monaco agree to let him go, we have a deal for Slimani in place in principle on loan, don't go cartwheeling too much, knowing our luck he'll agree to join permanently!

1.) 13 Jan 2020 16:42:54
I would rather not to be honest 82, I think we need Two strikers, and both on permanent deals.
There is better out there, so we need to beef up our efforts and show the fans and football world we mean business.
If we are still in the same position come January 30th yes, but as it stands not for me mate.

2.) 13 Jan 2020 18:55:25
Slimanis a good player better than anything what we have by a mile.

3.) 13 Jan 2020 19:03:07
Yeah sure he is, until he had played a couple of games for us, then you would be one of the first on here wanting to wring his bloody neck.
Think about it mate.

4.) 13 Jan 2020 20:00:50
They reckon llorente was quality before went to spurs .

13 Jan 2020 08:35:57
So there's a few bloggers saying that even if we pull the pin on deano that it's already too late to try and tempt the likes of pulis of big Sam, because by the time their installed it'll be too late for them to wheel and deal in the market, so if that's the case, we're looking at probable relegation, all our young players bought by Dean of with 'potential 'leaving for pastures new, and the ones who stay won't like the championship 2 game a week scenario, so that means another couple of years rebuilding, it's like deja-vu! IF deano stays and we get relegated then for me, we need a manager like Chris Wilder, no nonsense, either you put a shift in or jog on-and yes, I'd consider big Sam, but hey, we may confound the odds and stay up!

1.) 13 Jan 2020 10:34:52
I seriously don't consider any of them except Pochettino.

2.) 13 Jan 2020 13:09:21
Ur dreaming as if poch would come to villa no chance mate.

12 Jan 2020 13:36:11
Islam Slimani-owned by the that mob who peddle crisps and now we've apparently asked about his availability, to deano and those in CHARGE-NNNNNNOOOOOOO!

1.) 12 Jan 2020 14:14:28
No No No, definitely No.

02 Jan 2020 07:30:16
So, now the latest 2 strikers being mentioned are a fella from Lyon, vibrant is willing to let him go out on loan, his stats show 1 goal to his name since October I believe, could be our new Wesley! -and the second is dean Sturridge, and many whose career has been built on having seeking pace, now 30 and can still apparently do a lightning dash from his car to the physio's table! -seriously though, if he were a horse he'd have been magically turned into a tube or 2 of glue by now, let's not repeat the mistake the baggies made if you remember, I would say he can jog on, but with his fitness history I'm sure you can figure out what would happen, for what's available, bowen, mitrovic, bent eke or even money plus kodjia, lansbury, targett for morelos from rangers, heck give gabby a trial!

1.) 02 Jan 2020 14:07:20
Get real 82, are you really that gullible, its all paper and media garbage.

2.) 02 Jan 2020 15:14:57
You need a reality cheack villa dave 82 is right no good looking for numpty replacements need to dig deep our owners are good people the team is weak need to spend on big players big names were in premier apart from our great manager everything is famous poor old Smith ain't got a big history of name so top top forwards will need extra work but red up of bunch of nobodies coming to villa naughty proven attackers is what's needed sod the cost.

3.) 02 Jan 2020 17:50:19
Lucas Alario for me, if Wes is out then he’s guaranteed a start which is what he’s after, loan to buy, would be the best No9 we’ve had since Carew

4.) 02 Jan 2020 18:19:06
I think you have misunderstood my post Mr Gordon.
I was implying that we are being linked with any Donkey that is available at the moment, and he should not take it literally that we are looking to buy them.
I think if you read my posts for the past 5 years or so, you would know that I also like quality, and have posted who my preferences would be.
So in your infinite wisdom, please explain why you think I need a reality check.

31 Dec 2019 06:21:39
So, just seen the link to mitrovic, I hope it happens! -but a bit worried by the link to drinkwater, if he can't get into a Burnley team which is all about graft and team play, then why on earth does deano think he'd be a good fit for us, we're meant to be about pace and quickly moving the ball, drinkwater sure as heck hasn't got any pace, just stick with hourihane etc, as for bringing in a central defender, there's a little whisper about phil Jones on loan, not sure about that, for just pure defending only, I'd take a punt on sol bamba, no nonsense get it done type of defender, getting on but he's a leader and is prepared to go to war every game, but I'm sure deano will sign yet another attacking defender with 'potential', because in our position that's the type of player we need!

1.) 31 Dec 2019 09:55:45
I’ve heard that Vida is in Brum, staying at Kallinic’s place

2.) 31 Dec 2019 16:11:06
Let's hope he stays there.

That would be a big fat yes to Sean dyche if true, failing that and worst case scenario, relegation, love warlock as manager or if not, give Lee Johnson the job and have Warnock as director of football/ manager on standby, a win win for me, don't think I will be using the word 'win'in the same sentence as deano any time in the future, be bold right now., let deano go.

1.) 26 Apr 2020 11:32:53
Using the word win in relation to Lee Johnson is a stretch. I wouldn't want him anywhere near our club after his disgraceful comments about us over the last 2 years, utter disrespect.

He's had backing at Bristol and bought a lot of experience (ironically mostly ex Villa) and hasn't even managed to get them into the play-offs. We beat them to the punch last year having given them a 10-15 point head start.

2.) 26 Apr 2020 12:25:14
Everybody is of course entitled to their opinion, but you know, the same people who want to see Dyche appointed,
will be the same people who will want him out 12 months down the line. The level of fickleness within the Villa fan base is nothing short of staggering.

3.) 26 Apr 2020 12:32:38
Maybe Deano can start gargling hot pebbles to get that gruffness? And we'd have to build up the dugout so Johnson can see the pitch, be like having wee Jimmy Krankie on the touchline 🤔 speaking of which did nobody find it weird that he got his wife to dress as a schoolboy and sit on his lap? Discuss, I'll be in the corner watching it all unfold 😂😂.

4.) 26 Apr 2020 12:38:19
On a side note Sean Dyche's voice is so gruff even his echo is scared of answering back!

5.) 26 Apr 2020 12:52:10
I seem to remember, after gaining promotion, that Burnley went down the next season didn’t they? They kept faith in Dyche however and he brought them back up the following season. Keeping that FAITH and PATIENCE has paid off.

6.) 26 Apr 2020 12:56:47
You mentioning echoes answering back Moose, reminds me of the Grinch who incidentally is better looking than Sean Dyche. 😂😂😂.

7.) 26 Apr 2020 13:03:30
"Why my dear I just noticed you were improperly packaged " for any grinch aficionado's out there 😁.

8.) 26 Apr 2020 13:36:09
“ What’s that stench? It’s fantastic”
“ One man’s toxic waste is another man’s potpourri”.

9.) 26 Apr 2020 14:34:51
Pmsl Mark quality 😂😂😂.

10.) 26 Apr 2020 14:36:47
With these rumours about the Burnley manager could we get "concrete" Ron Vlaar in as his assistant then we could have the Dutch boy and the Dyche? 🤔😁.

11.) 26 Apr 2020 14:52:40
Perhaps “ tulips from Amsterdam”, for the signature song 🤔.

08 Apr 2020 15:19:07
So, whispers abound that the season could be cancelled, not good if a purist but to mere mortals like me, it's a massive get out of jail card, and so, may I be the first to raise the issue of thanking deano and start the search for a new manager or "coach", if you just look at how the squad has 'progressed 'then the simple answer is we've stalled and gone backwards, much as I want him to have made the grade;he hasn't and is too stubborn to be willing to admit this and change, for those who disagree fair enough, but the results don't lie, as for who could come in, do you go established or new proactive without the experience, I'd go experience but we've got plenty of time to witter on and on about it-but this all DEPENDS obviously on if the season gets cancelled-ahh the sweet anticipation!

1.) 08 Apr 2020 16:02:54
So says the Udinese director Marino, however the premier league are saying that it has no substance 82, so most probably a load of baloney.

2.) 08 Apr 2020 16:06:56
He thinks he is the special one Moose, so the rules can’t possibly apply to him.

3.) 08 Apr 2020 17:12:32
Sorry 82, all said before mate, topped with speculation and lazy journalism.

07 Apr 2020 05:13:03
Nice to see the lock down and spending more time with our loved ones has helped chill everyone out on here! LOL!

1.) 07 Apr 2020 14:59:54
Yep, all chilled out 82, got to do as we are told mate.
Hope you and all posters on here are well.

16 Mar 2020 22:50:03
Just to ask Daventry, where's Derek Mountfield? -great player.

1.) 17 Mar 2020 04:40:17
Sorry typo-that should have read Dave!

{Ed047's Note - that’s some typo! 😉🤣

2.) 17 Mar 2020 10:21:56
Also Leighton Phillips, great reader of the game and played many times for Wales.
Is he good enough for the list Dave?

3.) 17 Mar 2020 11:09:07
Again I agree with you both, could no remember them all.
I put up the list off the top of my head, lucky to get as far as I did at my age.
I can`t remember what day it is sometimes, hahaha.

4.) 17 Mar 2020 11:44:13
Know the feeling Dave, a great list all the same mate, got me thinking anyway. We need these sort of things to think about while there’s no footy, keep them coming mate.

5.) 17 Mar 2020 12:50:40
I will try Mark, see above mate.

13 Mar 2020 05:11:26
So maybe just maybe we might have lost a penny and found a pound! -there is a growing concensus among the European leagues that the season may have to be suspended because of the extraordinary circumstances of the coronavirus, now that the whole arsenal team are self-monitering with arteta definitely having it the incubation period of 14 days is going to stuff everything up and the premier league will eventually have to concur with other leagues and call for the suspension of this season I think,

and bless soljkaer for being the litmus paper for a top club suggesting though not ideal, they'd probably agree to not finishing the season off, it pains me to say it, but this is a once in a lifetime get-out-of-jail card for us and the others in the relegation battle;

how sad is that to have to admit, but that's what it's come down too, if unfortunately this does happen, may I be so bold as to suggest that we drop kick that deluded zonal marking, my teams get better later in the season - needs to go to specsavers to improve his eyesight,

I know better than anyone; my way is the best way, reina and sammatta will be the difference, we can beat anyone on our day - but alas not a team with only 10 men on the pitch, it's everyone else's fault except mine, Danny drinkwater will give us experience - but don't mention his lack of fitness or attitude,

i know what the fans want, I'm building for the future-this is my team with our own identity- just a shame 19 other prem league managers checked their ladybird book of football for dimwits to figure out his system, just NOT UP TO THE JOB manager of ours who goes by the name of dean smith-its made even more irritating by the fact that brucey went to the bar codes, tried to change their system, didn't work, but he was shrewd enough to realise after about 12 games to go back with the system that worked for them and tweak it,

and hey presto their all but safe now, with a squad many would say is not as good as ours, and I say good luck to Brucey, because though some on here think he's too old school, even he can see the writing on the wall, it's just a shame deano won't take those blinkers off and listen, because I think even though the players like him, they don't believe in his system,

and when that happens, it's done, to quote a famous American coach, 'you either take a shovel to bury him or let him use the shovel himself'-bottom line, if they suspend the prem league for a month then get someone else in pronto-there's no need to look a gift-horse in the mouth.

1.) 13 Mar 2020 08:48:06
I'm waiting to see if they suspend the league as it is.
I remember an interview with David Dein, where he said should the PL have to be stopped due to an event outside of our control, No teams would be relegated but two teams promoted, bringing the league back to its inaugural 22 teams, with 4 relegated the following season.

That would seem the logical thing to do, the financial implications would be massive to relegate a team when x games remain.

2.) 13 Mar 2020 10:55:13
Is now the perfect time to replace Smith, we need to ensure we are safe if the league does resume. Wont get a better opportunity to bring a manager in mid season and for them to have time to work with the squad for a prolonged period prior to the next match.

Easy- when you have a manager who ignores advice and goes 'zonal 'no matter what, the results literally DO speak for themselves.

Yep, massive game today Vila4Eva, my heart says us to win 2-1,my head says after looking at the stats we lose 3-1,I just hope deano has them all fired up and we don't do the usual and get tired top badly in the last 15 minutes, hopefully Baston will come out like a man possessed!

Villadave- see how quickly we forget star quality when it's at our fingertips! -personally, I'd stick trezeguet up front, eye for a goal, a bit of trickery and with his pace, I reckon defenders would get caught out resulting in 1 or 2 penalties coming our way, worth a gamble in our predicament I think- there again, who knows what will happen before the window closes!

The twelth man-leave it out Dave, compared to the eleven before him, he's odds on to be the player of the season, what a shower -and just to confirm that I'm not all there, if deano had any balls he'd drop jack and tell the rest of them to man up and get the job done-then you'd see who really plays for the shirt and the fans.

Apologies Ed001 my mistake, but I still think we dodged a bullet not signing him, I don't think he can join any new club till the summertime now and I wouldn't be surprised if deano still wants to sign him! -but alls well that ends well, now let's see if deano can use sammatta to the best of his ability, you know, what with deano's nouse and shrewd tactical prowess, how can he go wrong.
By the way;yes Villadave I was way wide of the mark, I did that just to show EVEN I can balls it up (very regularly! ) lol.

{Ed001's Note - that's ok mate, the news is just sensationalising it, rather than reporting it.}
