Great solid performance tonight . Terry showed, just how class he is, his reading of the game was brilliant . The whole defence looked realy on it . Hutton showed how he kept Teylor on the bench, good game again. Davis plays like seasoned pro, his hold up play is fantastic I know he scored a goal tonight, but I'm still not convinced by Snodgrass . Overall a good team performance, so let's keep it going. Roll on Saturday. Onwards&Upwards Villaforever
PS Villa 10
Brucie is playing people in form, that's why Hutton kept his place.

1.) 02 Nov 2017 06:57:15
I think if we moved Snodgrass into the middle in a number 10, where Onomah is playing, we’d see why he’s got the record he has.

2.) 02 Nov 2017 08:05:53
Bang on dave Dean mate.

3.) 02 Nov 2017 20:13:08
Grealish has to play in that roll.

4.) 02 Nov 2017 23:00:56
Grealish is Number 10 for me, Snodgrass just makes the bench, sometimes I think chrisAVFC just likes to disagree.

5.) 03 Nov 2017 06:55:38
I replied before any comment about grealish saying I want to see Snodgrass in the number 10, then people started commenting about grealish in that position, I haven’t commented since. Give your head a wobble villajk.

6.) 03 Nov 2017 09:53:57
To me Grealish is good on the ball but lacks an end product and work rate. Snoddy works his socks off and his delivery into the box gives the forwards a chance - how many times have we seen Jack the lad run into blind alleys? too many, that means the pace of the game slows down and we lose possession. Grealish would also be behind Green for me.

7.) 03 Nov 2017 11:38:33
Average Jack waste of a shirt for me.

8.) 03 Nov 2017 12:39:15
Don’t disagree boys, you’ll get in trouble.

9.) 04 Nov 2017 13:39:43
I do prefer Snodgrass over grealish in the no. 10 role. But that being said, we are now playing as a core cohesive unit and it would be interesting to see Grealish play in a team that is getting it together. He hasn't had the opportunity to play in a descent team over the last 2 years.

Personly I'd play same side, against the noses, you can bet they will pack midfield . I think that midfield would be to strong for them, especially if we play them high up and climb all over them . We have to work hard close them down with nowhere to go . i'd also give Davis &OHare a good 30mins to finish them off . If Snodgrass isn't up for it, I'd give OHare a run out . O Hare looks for the ball, makes good runs and picks out a good pass and also isn't afraid to put a tackle in . So come on you Lions, show them who's the top Midlands team and shut them up . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 26 Oct 2017 01:44:59
Same team but swap Davis for the kod as he'll bully defenders like Morrison did for millwall last week.

19 Aug 2017 18:03:13
What a revelation Davis was, a forward that can actualy hold the ball up . The difference that made to our midfield, it aloud them to get forward . The biggest was Hoorihane
, he was like a differant player . Taylor and Green where great down the left, the one twos and making space for each other . A pity we aren't as strong down the right, Hutton got caught out that many times . When Gabby is fit again, I just hope Brucie dosent throw him back in . we have seen of Davis and O Hare, the kids have non stop movement and effort . Get them in, make room for them . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 19 Aug 2017 18:49:10
Loved Davis' hold up play today! Was like he had filled that missing link since Benteke left. Thought Bruce was spot on with sub for Hutton but there again my mom could have made that call. Houlihane was silky and movement great, excellent hatrick and Green's goal sublime. Even thought Lansbury was improved when he came on! Look forward to Bristol and Bruce keep the same team! VTID.

2.) 19 Aug 2017 22:40:48
Agree leave Gabby on a bench if he had played today, the resault would have been different.

3.) 20 Aug 2017 12:19:01
On a park's bench🤣.

4.) 20 Aug 2017 14:24:15
Safari park bench.

5.) 20 Aug 2017 15:33:39
As near too the lions as possible!

Anyone else heard the rumour, Mica to Forest. I do hope it's true . Onwards and Upwards, Villa forever.

1.) 27 Jul 2017 08:49:52
Not heard that rummor,
I as well hope it's true but wages are a big issue unless we pay more than half towards them,
You never know strange things happen in transfer windows with surprises galore.

2.) 27 Jul 2017 17:09:44
yes true lets, hope he can Gabby with him.

3.) 27 Jul 2017 17:33:26
you missed the word take.

24 Jul 2017 00:47:08
Looks like we are bringing in, some talented youngsters . That lad Doyle Hayse, looked realy good this afternoon . SB seems to rate him, Green was good again and Mckirdy looked the part in the first game . A Dutch lad today and a French lad earlier, it seems we are picking them up abroad as well . Also we had reps in Italy, checking talent there I was reading . It all bodes well for the future . We looked better today at times, we still need to hold the ball better . But at least we are scoring, without letting them in the other end . Be interesting to see Brucies team against Watford, might give us a better idea what he is thinking . Onwards&upwards Villaforever.

1.) 24 Jul 2017 16:59:23
I am very pleased to see young kids given a chance,
Hayes and o"hare look half decent,
But I do hope green gets a extended go in first team,
Always liked this kid,
Think that Xia is doing it the right way now with better planing.
All we need now is Bruce to get his formation and tactics spot on then premiership here we come,

Mike where lucky today, to only have one shot on target, was unbelievable . Since he came back rom suspension, Taylor has gone backwards . He looks lacking in confidence and so indecisive, he never plays a quick ball Snoddy is another one, who had a bad game today . He couldent pass warter today . Landsbury and Weelen played well and kept our midfield going . I never thought I'd be saying it, but I hope Samba isn't to bad . He was great today, never missed anything in the air . If needs be, next game I'd put Hutton in there, he was getting tackles in and covering all across the back again today . We certainly need something sorting for next game, we need an injection of energy . Why not give OHare a shot, he would certainly add energy and passion . Onomah looks like he could do with a rest, I was surprised when he wasent replaced by Jack today . Another game that at least we didn't loose Pluss another clean sheet . Next game Derby, we will need to up our game . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

01 Dec 2017 22:10:58
Good result in the end, snatched their hand off, for that before game . On the first half performance, didn't think we would get anything . They where stronger, faster and wanted it more . Their work rate, closing us down was impressive. What ever Brucie said at half time certainly worked . Much more energy& effort, compleatly different . Poor old Albert never got a kick, Leeds had two on him every opportunity . As has been said Onomah just wasent at the races tonight . Weelen had a great game again and big Samba lasted well . Nice to see Landsbry get his goal . when he was at Forrest his best games where at No 10, perhaps worth a try . At least we showed the fight needed, in the end we deserved it . At least we have over a week to recover, before the next one . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 01 Dec 2017 22:23:35
Cant improve on what you already have said davedean in the end we deserved that point second half it was like a different team.

2.) 02 Dec 2017 08:06:11
We are showing more bottle than in previous years and 1 point at Leeds is a good point,
Just wish Cardiff would stop winning?
But 20 games in and 36 points is better than I expected so now for millwall,

22 Nov 2017 00:17:13
We where saying tonight, the Middlesbrough fans, must be looking at Traore &Rudy and wondering why they let Albert go . We know who got the best of that deal .

21 Nov 2017 22:55:05
Well we made hard work of that, that was a very tired performance . Samba had a good game and some of Huttons tackles where brilliant . Taylor had, I think the worst game iv seen him have Every thing he did looked laboured . The big part of Onohah's game is his movement and energy, it just wasent there tonight . Davis it just wasent his night, even changing his boots didn't work . Albert worked his socks off and Snoddy also worked hard . Over all a scruffy win, but a win . Also the other results went for us tonight . I reckon the Jedi will be back in against Ipswitch, Weelen took a couple of heavy knocks . So Brucie get the rested and back up for it on Saturday. Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

1.) 22 Nov 2017 08:06:10
Terrible performance but a win,
Hutton again mom for me,
Love him or hate him never gives less than 100%,
And that tackle in second half reminded me or bite your legs hunter in years gone by,
Same players as Saturday but completely different performances,
Still the main thing is 3 more points.

20 Nov 2017 00:58:39
I reckon we should play same team, same system on Tuesday . I don't know how you see it, but i reckon that system, suits us better, with that extra man in midfield . Obviously the players can be changed, but keep that extra man . Would love to see O Hare given a chance, maybe on thr right . With a strong bench to back it up, it could be affective . Certaily make us harder to break down, Roll on Tuesday Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

Walkies for the first time ever, I agree with everything you have said . Albert is one on his own, Weelen had his best game for us and for his age Davis is outstanding . The way he holds that line on his own, is mature beyond his years . Start adding a few goals, for the compleat package . Leeds won't be looking forwards to playing us, as the home team the pressure will be on them . With the confidence we have gained over the last few games, We should give them a good game and come away with something . But we need to be up for it and at our best . So roll on Friday Onwards& Upwards Villaforever.

I was saying this ages ago, all the better teams have a central player, that every thing goes through . As you say that Woods is ideal, he did compleatly run the game . Not only did he keep the ball moving, but most of his passes where quick 1-2 moving the ball forward . Also his ability to pick out, the right longer pass, was brilliant . We haven't had a player like this since Sid, his passing made David Plats career a success . So come on Brucie, give us a late Xmas present, with a player like this in January . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

Walkies you leave yourself open to attack, time and again . Why is it you have to round every thing of by giving it the big . Your last few posts have been quite good, then you have to spoil it, by saying my mate Wyness, I know quite a few ex players, but I don't bore everybody, by telling them . With all the flack you get, you just don't learn . Everybody knows you go to every game, you privileged to go to meetings and meet Kieth, but it becomes boring when you keep letting us know . Start to think just a little bit when your posting, some of them are good, just cut out the rest . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

Bob i agree, new manaver and all that you never know . But i reckon if we stick to same system, with that extra man in midfield, we will beat most teams in this league . We still have a goal threat, but we look so much stronger . Also we have plenty of players who would fit in . Jack, O Hare the Jedi even Landsbury, what we do need is somebody, who could do a job like wood or Bannan, someone to play everything through, somebody to keep us moving forwards Untill we find that nugget, I think the extra midfielder we do us well . Bring on Sunderland Onwards& Upwards Villaforever.

Vertout was another player where the manager thought, it dosent matter that playing at No 10 he had been involved with % 46 of all goals scored. They played him in and out of the team, in any position other than the one he wanted . Then it was a case of, sorry you don't fit in . How many times do not just Villa, but managers consistently play people other than where they are good at . I honestly believe Vertout would have been a brilliant asset for us, if played in his right position . he's gone elsewhere and proved it .
