Has anyone seen "Josh Morris of Scunthorpe" play? Is he any good?
He has scored 10 goal for them in League 1. For a midfielder, that is a good number.
I know league 1 is nothing as compared to Championship but that guy is ripping that league apart.
He will come cheap as well.

1.) 02 Jan 2017 11:34:14
I think we are past looking for cheap. and I'm not sure it's worth taking another gamble on whether someone is ready/ good enough.
We need tried and tested.

2.) 02 Jan 2017 15:27:10
He don't look too bad tbh, if I'm right he plays in the same division as Dele Alli was plucked from and he ain't done too bad for himself. There's gems everywhere and they just need to be given a chance, same goes for our youngsters

3.) 02 Jan 2017 15:42:58
I agree Flackie and Allyp has a valid point too.
I was just reading about him today and he has done a good job so far.
Had to ask this because I have never seen him play.

Hi Eds,

Any news on Grealish's injury? How serious is it?

{Ed001's Note - just a dead leg mate, if footballers weren't so soft these days they wouldn't even call that an injury! He will probably miss the Cardiff game for something children run off immediately but players wuss out for a week with.}

1.) 01 Jan 2017 13:02:59
Lol ed that seriously made me laugh out loud! Spat my drink everywhere!
But is dead on! Lol.

{Ed001's Note - it is one of my pet hates. It is embarrassing seeing them taking a week off with a dead leg.}

2.) 01 Jan 2017 15:57:19
Grellish is a pussy too so be out for weeks.

{Ed001's Note - it is likely to be one week he will be out as that is the standard time now for a dead leg. You are right though, footballers are.}

3.) 02 Jan 2017 06:32:40
Hahaha nice one ED. Good that he is out for today's game. Else Cardiff would be giving him hard time today. More than a week will be problem for us.

4.) 02 Jan 2017 10:27:43
i know i'm not a top professional footballer but few weeks ago i got knee to my thigh while playing, a few minutes on the side of pitch rubbing it and working it off i was back on the pitch, so can't see why players ever miss games through it.

01 Jan 2017 06:50:26
Happy new year evryone.

{Ed001's Note - HNY mate, hope 2017 blesses you with joy and health.}

1.) 01 Jan 2017 10:36:10
Happy new year buddy.
Thank you.

2.) 01 Jan 2017 12:47:49
Thank you Ed001 and Flackie.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

23 Dec 2016 10:38:27
Is there any possibility in getting m'Villa from Rubin Kazan.
Guy wanted to move to England, Aston Villa can offer him that.
He is a good defensive midfielder. Will be perfect for 4-2-3-1 formation.

Hi Eds,

Can you please list all the players who are genuinely linked with Villa?

1.) 23 Dec 2016 10:54:27
Apologies I closed the reply box by mistake before sending this through.

All the players is difficult, every club keeps tabs on hundreds, sometimes even thousands of players over the course of a season. When an enquiry or bid goes in, that is the only time you can be sure of interest. Even then, it is impossible to find out all of them.

This season is particularly difficult, as the rules on agents has been relaxed by FIFA, meaning that anyone can set themselves up as an 'intermediary' as they are now called. That means you have all these new people making claims about representing players and trying to find them clubs etc, when they actually have no working relationship with those players.

One I have been told that is a possibility, as he is considering his options and wants to play in England, is Matthew Ryan of Valencia. They are a selling club, he is out of favour, Bruce rates him. He is Australia's keeper and needs first team football and Villa can offer him that. The issue is that there are other options for him, such as some interest from West Ham. Jedinak might well be your secret weapon in persuading him......

2.) 23 Dec 2016 11:09:23
I read something about him as well ed, at least I think it was re him, that he is a villa fan and rooms with jedinak.

I think this is a great shout. and a lot more experience than another rookie.

3.) 23 Dec 2016 11:14:58
No issues Ed001.

Regarding "trying to find them clubs etc, when they actually have no working relationship with those players. ". Realy? How does it even work then? Does anybody listen to them and their offer? It should be confusing as the actual agent is someone else but another person is claiming that HE/ SHE represents that player.

Sorry for these many queries, not heard of Valencia guy so much and GK isn't the actual problem right now. anyone else from other positions?

That was some information though. Tired of reading craps in newspapers.

Thanks a lot mate and Merry Christmas.!

{Ed001's Note - the clubs have to try and sift through and find out who is genuine and who isn't. They do not always get it right. I know you are after fullbacks as well, I just don't have anything names on that though yet. Not definite ones anyway.}

4.) 23 Dec 2016 11:20:42
Moreover, searched for his (Matthew Ryan) profile. Didn't he join Valencia a season ago?
He has played 2 games and conceded 5 Goals this season. I know it is also the defense who is responsible for leaking goals but will he able to provide us what we are searching for. CONFIDENCE BETWEEN THE STICKS.!

{Ed001's Note - I really don't know if he is what you need. Personally I do not rate him, I think he is a bit of a show pony, makes spectacular saves even when the save is actually simple. I just know that there is definitely some interest in bringing him in, Bruce likes him a lot and is not convinced by the keepers you have.}

5.) 24 Dec 2016 03:59:48
May be its Jedinak who has convinced bruce, just maybe. Not sure to be excited or not. Well when you get anything on any other positions please let us know. Thanks a lot for the info ED.

{Ed001's Note - could well be, Jedinak has defo spoken with Bruce with regards to players.}

Read in one of the papers that McCarthy, Tom Cleverley, Phil Jagielka, Aaron Lennon, Gerard Deulofeu are all down the firing line.
Now who would you want to take for villa?
I would take McCarthy/ Cleverley based on the fact that Villa need CM.
Deulofeu will also be good winger but we have plenty of options to choose from already.

1.) 11 Dec 2016 10:10:21
Don't think any of them other than jagielka and maybe Lennon would even be a possibility mate, just because there would be a few prem teams after them! I'd take jagielka, would be solid at this level and better than elphic. However elphic was decent yesterday, had one little mishap where Gollini just wasn't coming out to collect but he did the right thing and leathered it away!

2.) 11 Dec 2016 11:36:22
Just read it's us Sunderland and Celtic interested in McCarthy, would be a quality signing but think we are last on the list. Celtic champions league, Sunderland premier league and then us, and it wouldn't surprise me if Roy Keane was in his ear aswell slating us.

3.) 11 Dec 2016 13:51:41
Sunderland will soon be where Villa is rightnow. Unless they win back to back 3-4 games. He woudn't want go into that mess. If Villa shows improvement and climb up the table then he can be attracted. Not sure about Celtic though.
Would take Cleverly as well. He was realy good under Sherwood last few weeks. If he can show that form at this level he will be huge improvement to the current squad plus he woudnt cost too much I'm sure.

4.) 11 Dec 2016 15:10:03
To be honest mate he shouldn't want to go to Sunderland but if it came to it he would, money talks and the premier league is still a huge pull no matter the situation. And I don't think cleverly would be welcomed back, claimed he was going to sign for us and he was loving it just to get his starting place in the final then sodded off, good player but he really did us over when he was here before.

5.) 11 Dec 2016 17:12:46
I personally wouldn't touch cleverly with kingvilla's

No effort, commitment or balls, until a Wembley place was at stake, then didn't turn up for the final!

6.) 11 Dec 2016 17:51:49
Exactly my point, he was immense in the games leading up to the final, vs West Ham etc. Did interviews almost saying his staying just for a start in the final.

7.) 11 Dec 2016 18:36:11
Good point.!

Daily mail, where he said he is committed to west ham but he did not say he will not drop down a division.

Mirror, which says he does not want to drop down, from where I am not sure. But this was after his interview. West ham has put him on transfer list.

Have neutral emotions about this Chris. He was not that great and I am sure Bruce has someone else on his mind to get or else he wouldn't have allowed him to leave.
I think gabby will play uptop (not that I want him to) and with Grealish out for the match McCormack will play behind him.
Ayew/ Bacuna on Left and Adomah on right. This should be enough to beat them today. At least I hope so.

Sam Johnstone : Is he any better than what Villa already has (Gollini) . Sam has almost same experience as Gollini but in lower leagues. Both are almost same to be fair. then why go and get a same type of player?

Carl Jenkinson: yes, much better than hutton. Only cocern is his injuries.

Please start it again, a good place to discuss, if everyone is okay with that.

Agree with what you wanted to say but "it should not be on you tube"?
What will happen to the other fans who will be watching it from other countries.
People were questioning the way AVTV was being handled. Now when they are actually doing a better job for the fans around the world here we are again questioning them for doing so.
Hope this season will be better. Please stop questioning every other decision this club is making. Cheers mate!

I used to watch the matches in some website called streamgaroo back in India. I am not able to use it here in Australia. Just few random links works.

Then again like villaman said, it will be present on internet if it's being broadcasted by sky. I hope this time it's not the case an villa TV shows all the matches.

Also time difference is around 10 hours. So either it's late night or early morning for few matches. Which is very upsetting.

Can't wait for the season to start. UTV!

True that about Bruce. Hope I get to read good reviews for Aston Villa next time.
And Welcome mate.
Not sure whether to be excited about Ojo interest or not because we already have Green with that much experience in that area. Ojo will not be an upgrade on that.
Please keep us posted Ed, if you get any news on Villa. I know you don't dig much about Villa (as you are a Liverpool fan) but if you get any, please do post.

{Ed001's Note - I will mate, it is just finding time to do so that is the issue.}

Thanks mate for your time. Appreciate the effort you have put in.
It's not about nicest review, it's about the facts. You have done it perfectly.
A bit harsh on Bruce I think, but you are the expert Ed. I am just a reader.

Biggest disappointment of the season: McCormack, Grealish (due to high expectations) and elphick.

Positives: Chester, kodjia and Tylor/ Jedi

Hopes for the next season: Bree, green, tashibola and hourihane.

New players: don't need much. Only a GK and RB should be enough with whole pre season for Bruce.

It's the transfer window and as you say you are busy, do you have anything on Aston villa? Any news? Ins and outs? I know window is not yet open officially, still.

{Ed001's Note - it probably is a bit harsh on Bruce, but the harsh reality is that he was not brought in for a midtable finish. He was brought in to get the club back up. There is always next season though.

And thank you, glad you felt it was good.

The only thing I have heard, being snowed under keeping up with the Liverpool tapping up thing, is interest from yourselves in bringing in Ojo from Liverpool. There are a few clubs interested though and his future is unsure right now. I doubt there will be any kind of movement on him for next season for a few days, as he will be having a break.}
