As Guzan could be one to exit, would anyone fancy a punt at Valdes as a free agent.

I think he would be a great shout.
But personally I would love Scot Carlson to come back.
Or possibly a rob green.

Alex McCarthy maybe? Didn't get much game time at palace this season and is proven in the championship.
Valdes won't come near us as he will have offers across Europe. Green, good shout but is certainly pushing on. I know it's not such a big concern with gk's but why not try and start to build a team for the future now.
Nick Powell on a free makes sense assuming his wages are not extortionate. If Amavi were to go what about Jose Enrique in on a free?

Mervyn King would not of said anything on Bloomberg TV about 'The Sale' of the Villa rather than a sale he also mentioned a time scale over the coming weeks too. He was on the board so knows something is on the cards as a Villa Supporter and season ticket holder of 55 years and experienced Business/ Banker Governor of Bank of England he would not generate rumours if he wasn't certain of a possible outcome.

I honestly believe the takeover will happen in the next 2 weeks, these things take time and don't happen over night. I do believe it's a three way battle between US, China and UK. US Larry Ellison probably the preferred option as Lerner will get the £100m straight away. As for Manager I believe that won't be announced until the end of the season. As I think Moyes is hold on to see about takeover and also what happens at Everton. If Ellison buys us I think Moyes will come and be given what is needed to clear out deadwood and build the team he needs.
