Just watched Chester clearance from last night over and over again! Looked amazing from where I was on the Holte but seeing it from different angles what an amazing piece of defending! Brilliant and hope continues to build confidence! One Paul McGrath would have been proud of VTID.

I completely understand it but really hate when booing happens. Worst when at players but really uncomfortable today with we want Brucie out chants! I have been a bit of a fence sitter and as soon as I have headed towards enough is enough he seems to get a lucky break such as last year Davis coming in and clear air talks before boro away win!

This now feels very different in that he seems lost and cornered, too afraid to take risks. Today was awful but is a reflection of most of our performances in patches or in full such as Sheffield Utd away!

We are pedestrian, musical statues with no music just inept on the break! No one left higher up the field during set pieces and playing so deep for too long.

There was a spell after the wonder goal when could see what energy and attacking flare they could produce so it must be something in the instruction and reigning in of expression of themselves.

Too many poor performances from individuals who should be much improved with a leadership change.

I fancy owners don't need any booing to see such a meagre win rate and a team with no cohesion or identity is in need of either another Bruce lucky break or sadly a new search for a manager on Monday?

Don't fancy Sheerwood and not sure Mendez could repeat miracle in the West Midlands. Not to be too predictable but Dean Smith, however would need time so no chance of PL return this season I fear unless he can kick start our stars into becoming a team VTID.

1.) 23 Sep 2018 11:21:20
Total common sense analysis of our situation, only thing I would disagree with is i'd say Sherwood has unfinished business at Villa, and would know what to do with the over abundance of flair/ attacking players we have, defensively we're screwed whoever takes charge. Only glimmer I can see for the defence is if Chelski pay up Cahills contract and he moves to us, we should never of let him go, I'd give him a piggy back all the way to B6 for that goal against the Nose alone

2.) 24 Sep 2018 10:38:16
In all honesty, Sherwood did really well for us in his short period during the 2014-15 season. It was when Lerner decided to interfere with player signings next season that everything went downhill. The 2015-16 is our worst performance to date. It's no wonder.

3.) 04 Oct 2018 16:48:16
try sniffing something different.

31 Aug 2018 23:31:29
Just watched all 26 goals for Tammy Abrahams for Bristol City last season! Very impressed with his Fox in the box displays. Loads of latching onto loose balls, goalie parry outs and also some really confident and inventive efforts! Can't wait to see how he gets on with service from new attacking signings. We are fortunate to have a fair start to the season to build on and now need to really muller some opponents big time! UTV.

10 Aug 2018 08:51:15
Nail biting closure of the window! So delighted that Spurs, Chealski, Man Utd or Man City didn't get our best shining star Alan Hutton! Also pleased Jack is staying and will be up for the promo push!

1.) 10 Aug 2018 09:48:37
Milan and Real have still got time to buy Hutton, or Jack. 😉

2.) 12 Aug 2018 23:18:16
Crazy window deadline and rest of Europe!

17 Apr 2018 18:21:33
Just paper talk but rumour that Leicester City are after Jack Grealish following in footsteps of Albrighton and Gray both young brummy young talents? If we don't go up could Jack move to improve his England chances?

1.) 17 Apr 2018 19:24:46
Yeh, read the same article nick, I have a feeling that grealish could be another agbonlahor, in the sense that unless some club comes in with a ridiculous offer for him and us, he may well stay put.
Man cty, Man utd, or a top foreign outfit might tempt.
I might be wrong but He is a home boy, so unless we plummet I think he will stay put.

2.) 17 Apr 2018 21:46:58
Must get promoted is under statement! No pressures ladss.

We're going to need some new songs!

12 Jun 2019 22:52:51
Here's a punt at a villa starting 11 for Prem league!
Butland GK
Elmo RB give the guy a go
Mings CB
Gary Cahill CB
Hause LB
Conor H Midfield
McGinn MF
Grealish MF
Yota Wilde
Elghazi wide
Maupay CF.

1.) 13 Jun 2019 05:40:00
Why Emlo when we have guilbert? He is good with tackling and long passes, he will definitely be an upgrade on Elmo. Elmo can be on bench.

Feel only one of Maupay or Butland can come, it will be interesting to see who comes.

2.) 13 Jun 2019 21:01:51
Now we have Wesley Moraes will we still be in for Maupay or has his chance gone?

3.) 13 Jun 2019 21:17:37
Not seen much of the youngster but take your word would be better than Elmo?

4.) 14 Jun 2019 04:17:12
Yes, he has good have, amazing long pass, good tackle and cross probably same as Elmo, will be great for Wesley. He is definitely an upgrade. Elmo and Bree can be backups.

@akavilla, no, we will probably go for a cheaper backup option I think. Someone like Austin or Jay rod.

26 Apr 2019 00:22:34
Can't believe McGinn never made the Championship team of the season!

14 Apr 2019 13:14:48
John McGinn receives the ball in the corner to wind down the clock? Does he hell! Brilliant thinking to bomb into the area leaving BC defenders looking like statues. A highlight of yesterday along with Taylor's deft back heel in that same area in front of the Holte! Brilliant all round team performance with Whelan and Elgahzi n top form silencing doubters!

Good morning fellow villa fans,
I have not been on here for a while i had a heart attack which i nearly did not survive but thankfully i'm still here.
Me and the missus are both in the wars with illnesses but we help each other to pull through,
Ive missed all the 7 games we have won such is the state i was in,
Just the game on Saturday i have seen how good we are.
Smith has done a marvellous job getting us where we are now,
And the football has been 100% more better than under bruce.
I have to catch up with highlights of all the games i have missed and just glad to be alive to watch them.
I will be posting again but i will be easing of so i need more resting now.
Sad to miss all your posts over the weeks but i'm back in a fashion.

2.) 14 Apr 2019 14:32:07
Bob great to see you back, I posted earlier to see if anybody had heard how you was .
Keep the flag flying, but more importantly, get your wife and yourself better . UTV
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

3.) 14 Apr 2019 14:41:41
Thanks for concern very much appreciated
By the way who has been playing well in these 8 games and what has smith done differently to make us much better.

4.) 14 Apr 2019 14:53:11
Bob hope the villa performances helped in the recovery, health is far far more important than the game of football, so speedy recovery to you and your good lady, hope you are well enough to get to Wembley.

5.) 14 Apr 2019 15:14:59

Thanks for your kind words.
I won't be well enough to travel to Wembley.
Nice to hear so many positive comments on our great club.
We seem to be rejuvenated under the owners and smith.
We look a very confident side on the 1 game i have seen.
Can see a baggies semi final.
But we have a great chance to go up in my opinion.

6.) 14 Apr 2019 16:10:07
Sorry to hear you have still been having some problems Bob, hope you both get back on your feet’s soon.

7.) 14 Apr 2019 16:22:33
Thanks for that flackie,
Have missed you wit,
Hope to have some more in future,
But i will not be posting as much as before,
When i have a bad day its a really bad day.
Same with my missis,
Were keeping each other going to be honest.

8.) 14 Apr 2019 17:00:14
Hope your both alright mate👍 You seen many highlights? If so what you reckon to deans reign as a whole?

9.) 14 Apr 2019 17:37:36
Hardly seen any really except on Saturday.
Dean smith has been a breath of fresh air,
Plays the game on the front foot which i love.
Goes into games to win not like bruce not to lose!
Heard about the rotherham game so looking forward to seeing the highlights.
Hope you are well and look forward to future banter,
But as i said to dave it will be less than before.
I do feel frail so take each day as it comes.

10.) 14 Apr 2019 18:49:22
Bob go on u tube, you will find most on there, or the informer, he shows lots on Facebook .
Keep your chin-up .

11.) 15 Apr 2019 11:52:45
Get well soon Mainbob. Look at the table. Just look at the table!

12.) 15 Apr 2019 14:58:00
I have seen some of the games i have missed and got to say some of the goals have been top drawer,
Very impressed with the style of football played.
Smith has really put his stamp on the team.
This news about mcginn is worrying concerning his 13 yellow cards.
If he picks up 2 more come end of season he misses the semi finals and the final.
Could anyone confirm if that is correct.
He would be a massive loss if true,
I saw him in the games i missed and he looked better than ever before i was took ill.
Thank you to all for your kind words by the way very much appreciated by myself and the missus.

Good to see Ian Ross remembered today, he was my first villa captain when I first went to Villa Park. That shows how many years I have been going, the highs and the lows. At this time when we all need to pull together and be realistic I cannot believe the madness on this site and phone ins on local radio calling for Dean Smiths head just 4 MONTHS after his appointment! We are a massive club by name but cannot expect Deano to come in and fix overnight years of decay. I would expect, regardless of his villa roots, we all would be united in wanting to see how he could convert the Brentford model into our beloved club?! Youth, pace movement, high tempo, playing high up the pitch and an attacking style to die for. We saw some of the testament on Wednesday. So how on earth can you expect to build this in 4 MONTHS with only a measly January window. Ron Saunders was not an immediate success nor was Fergie at Utd. I hate seeing this season slip away but look forward to Deano having at least summer and next Jan windows minimum to start to make pathways back to premier league. WRITE OFF THIS SEASON AND BACK DEAN SMITH AND HIS BACK ROOM TO GET IT RIGHT 2019/ 20 season and stop this madness of managerial changes of recent times! VTID.

Would be ok because if helps the club to get out of this mess. It will always be Vila Park to everyone in the same way those other Victorian builds will be Anfield, Old Trafford etc!

Spent serious money and time on RMc so why not see if he can offer some cover up front if nothing is happening in this transfer window? If anything if he put in a couple of good shows it could help with sell on because his price currently can't get much lower if he bombs again! UTV.

Oh I feel so depressed, how awful things are! Our last home game we could only put 5 past lowly Bristol City who were second in the division! To make life worse we are 5 points off automatic promotion. The nail in the coffin is we are going to have to have 10 changes to the team on Saturday. I am so envious of the feel good factor at small Heath and Sandwell town! It could be worse I could be a dingle!
Let's get real here and can't wait to see how villa first team squad perform at the city ground tomorrow, every manager will make some bad signings. The most successful manager of our time bought Djemba DJemba remember for ManUtd and probably a few others. UTV.

Hilarious goings on at SHA! You couldn't make it up especially after Rowett fiasco. Has anyone looked into the back ground of their board? Are you sure none are members of the Aston Social or drink n the Kingstanding?!

Really tough but Taylor’s confidence is sky high and I think he has been the most improved along with Wheeeela! I would love an in form Kodja too but fancy Deano will go for Albert? Can’t wait for tomorrow but feeling pretty anxious as can never tell what WBA will do?! They can play awful and win by a margin! UTV.

We have always had a reputation of being fickle and it is I suppose only human nature to write posts when enraged or in despair! Posts or lack of reflect on just how contented and delighted we all are with the current 6 in a row incredible turn around! Or we are too intoxicated post match to write! Have to say however my villa doubting demons are creeping in with us facing Rotherham tonight! In the past this has been a typical match to bring us back down to earth! Must win with Bristol winning and Boro last night putting the squeeze on us. Other good results went our way and can't wait for full villa park on Saturday rocking!

I have missed what sanctions were made against SHA re Jack Incident? Having looked at the table and if they have 12 points deducted for FFP then that puts them only 2 points above relegation? With their current blip in form and any further point penalty could make for very close to disaster for our small neighbours!?

Turning to things more important today will be another massive game and really can’t call it! We have had some really great moments against Boro such as in 1981, Luke Moore Garrick but they have also been quite a bogey side too. Expect however another 3points because Pullis bus parking won’t keep out Jack, McGinn and Tammy! UTV.
