Just heard Dr Tony saying has up to £50m to spend in the summer. Good news but some villa fans are saying should keep amount quiet as will lead to price inflation? Don't agree at all. here we have a new owner backed by billions does it matter that he said £50m!

It's obvious who he is and what resources he is likely to have! I am for one delighted he has shown his hand to start a journey of optimism and expectation! Just now needs to stick to promise. Also good news is looking to buy a house around Birmingham. Someone better tell him Aston Hall is not for sale UTV.

1.) 21 May 2016 11:40:53
Di Matteo in talks with Lazio? If I'm being honest I don't think he was going to be right anyway so maybe time to pursue Moyes or Pearson!

23 Mar 2016 23:07:36
Just heard Moyes is waiting for our call. He has said only would he drop to the championship for Aston Villa a club of our stature to rescue us! DO IT NOW BOARD get our man!

1.) 23 Mar 2016 23:40:35
Agreed he'd be the best man for us if he wants to come then that's good the board should now act and get him he did brilliant at Preston and Everton didn't get fair crack at utd he knows what players would be needed to get us back. Get rid of most the rubbish Guzan lescott nzogbia Westwood agbonlahor veretout.

2.) 24 Mar 2016 00:12:11
I take Sj379 you won't be buying"Charles N'Zogbia-how i became a Villa legend dvd"then?

3.) 24 Mar 2016 01:01:24
Mate he's been useless from day one just happy to keep taking the money like a lot of other mercenaries at the club they got garde the sack as they just didn't care about our club as far as I'm concerned get rid of them all but there again who buys rubbish.

4.) 24 Mar 2016 01:14:33
You sir are bang on, and what makes it worse, i understand if a player stays till the end of the season, he's entitled to some type of loyalty bonus! -you couldn't make it up if you tried-priceless!

5.) 24 Mar 2016 10:09:34
These so called players have shown that aston villa means nowt to them I do feel sorry for remi garde as it's not really his fault yes I agree he picks the team he thinks to win games but when he has players like lescott strolling round the pitch like a Carthorpe, what could he do, if certain players put as much effort in as they did going onto social media sites my beloved club wouldn't be going down to the championship, so I'm not going to blame remi garde I'm going to blame the mercenaries on the pitch who just didn't care enough about our club or us season ticket holders who have had to endure their inept performances week in week out. I would like to wish remi garde the best for the future as I don't see him being here next season.

11 Mar 2016 16:46:17
Brian Little on the board about to be announced! Another but football business man too who was involved with Wembley! Let's hope 2 in and 2 out! The fight back off the field I hope has started UTV.

1.) 11 Mar 2016 18:27:46
A warm welcome back to the legend that is Brian Little and the other fella just a quick thought with all these comings going on behind the scenes anyone think that they might be starting there own football team?

2.) 11 Mar 2016 18:51:46
A great day to see Brian Little back, at last a bit of sunshine on a dull season.

3.) 11 Mar 2016 19:00:29
Bernstein is the name that I have been given.

4.) 11 Mar 2016 19:03:12
Missed the interesting bit. Bernstein is an accountant.
Is this good or bad?

5.) 11 Mar 2016 21:54:30
Bernstein was with Wembley PLc and so an accountant in the world of football so probably a step in the right direction.

27 Feb 2016 14:39:17
Only change for today is Richards dropped to the bench which Rudi is sitting on too. Looking at the starting line up really does leave you with a sinking feeling and very little optimism, roll on the summer rebuild! utv.

1.) 28 Feb 2016 07:36:23
Just more evidence that Remiis clueless and hasn't got a clue!

2.) 28 Feb 2016 15:08:59
Summer rebuild pmsl there will be none.

23 Feb 2016 20:07:40
Just heard a rumour that Doug Ellis is looking to buy the Villa for his son but perhaps at a cut price once relegated? Sure his son was on the board in the past?

Flackie and his scraped 1 nil came to roost! was hard work but great to see such endeavour and resistance. Well done to all of the team today UTV.

28 Sep 2017 22:00:16
Just on villa greats here are my favourites I have watched, that could be a team!? Rimmer Gidman Lausen McGrath Staunton
Mortimer Cowans Platt Walters
Little Gray

1.) 28 Sep 2017 23:10:29
I like this!
Mine would be

Melberg McGrath laursen a. wright
Platt petrov merson
Gray Dublin angel

I know I have three c. backs, and three strikers! But you get the point!
Also! I accept these prob are not the best players as such! But these gave me the best memories!

2.) 29 Sep 2017 07:55:03
My team

Leanord could have been a great if not for bad injury
Nilis another player cut down to early with injury,
Nelson the Portuguese full back was also great,
There are many players who graced villa park over the years.

3.) 29 Sep 2017 08:23:25
This is my second team of villa past players

4.) 29 Sep 2017 08:47:03
Heart and soul in both teams there mine would be
A Wright mcgrath Laurson Gidman
Bremmner Platt Mortimer Morley
Gray Little.

5.) 29 Sep 2017 09:27:55
Can not disagree with your team villadaz
So many great players over the years plus a load of real dross?

6.) 29 Sep 2017 12:49:17
Rimmer Gidman mcgrath Laurson Atken, Cowans Mortimer morley Little Gray Shaw.

7.) 29 Sep 2017 15:17:47
Oooo you bobby dazzler you Benito Carbone loved him.

8.) 29 Sep 2017 20:43:34
Oh the Great Alex Cropley who could play even when felled to the floor, fantastic player. We have been so blessed over the years and sure other midland clubs couldn't match the many many teams over the decades featuring the likes of Pongo Waring, Billy Walker, Trevor Ford, Peter McParland, Johnny Dixon, Gerry Hitchens, Andy Lochead, Brian Lttle, Andy Gray, Gary Shaw, Tony Morley, David Platt Paul McGrath, Dwight York etc!

9.) 30 Sep 2017 03:02:11
Nigel Sims,
Stan Lynn, got a shot like a tiger tank
Danny Blanchflower, silky smooth, made the Spuds great
Trevor Ford a no9 without peer
Peter Marland 2 MUFC 1
Geary Hitchens.
My old Dad would have gone for the Moss boys, and a raft of greats from the 30's
Problem with any choice is that most people only remember from 1990.

10.) 30 Sep 2017 12:58:37
Bloody hell old villain nigel sims that brings back some good old memories from my childhood. Do you remember one of our signings from abroad, germany in particular a player by the name of slewenoch not sure i got the spelling corect.

15 Sep 2017 20:00:06
Great stat highlighted on radio tonight! Wolves fans delighte with system manager and of course 4th place! Over last 4 games they pointed out Villa had same tally as the Wolves! Still believe Bruce has to win next match or will be gone!

17 Apr 2017 19:51:35
Only saw the Koja incident on TV? Really seemed minimal contact? He more squared up to the Fulham player, couldn't see him stamp or kick? Real shame will miss the party on Sunday!

1.) 17 Apr 2017 21:14:20
can't see us getting any luck with an appeal as the intent was still there and clearly visible. Cost us the game today, similar way grealish did against Fores, grealish got pelters at the time.

27 Mar 2017 11:57:37
Ok we have a lamppost and a statue of William McGregor and there are only so many monuments to great villans you can have. Just for fun who would top 3 be? Mine would be Ron Saunders, Billy Walker and am struggling with the 3rd between Eric Houghton or George Ramsey! Can't have Deafly Doug because rightly or wrongly he has a stand already!

1.) 27 Mar 2017 12:50:05
Maybe we could get a Gabby Agbonlahor tribute urinal.

2.) 27 Mar 2017 13:25:48
Haha great shout Andy.

3.) 27 Mar 2017 17:15:26
Maybe some kind of tribute to Graham Taylor.

4.) 27 Mar 2017 19:22:24
Good shout with Gabby! Perhaps a Paul McGrath statue that every now and again we could move to a secret location for a week or too (as long as it's a bar) !

5.) 27 Mar 2017 19:11:44
Re: gabby-urinal-that would truly be 'taking the p. '

6.) 27 Mar 2017 19:17:20
What about the ooh ahh paul mcgrath bar, and we could have tommy docerty in the corner telling tales of yore, have merson on the door (keep him standing up! ), and micah richards as the bouncer, let's face it, he's not doing anything else at the moment is he?

7.) 27 Mar 2017 22:04:15
The Jack Grealish junior villans kiddies club perhaps?

8.) 28 Mar 2017 11:10:10
Got a feeling if grealish was involved they'd be tagged or in rehab within a week!

Loved Davis' hold up play today! Was like he had filled that missing link since Benteke left. Thought Bruce was spot on with sub for Hutton but there again my mom could have made that call. Houlihane was silky and movement great, excellent hatrick and Green's goal sublime. Even thought Lansbury was improved when he came on! Look forward to Bristol and Bruce keep the same team! VTID.

I recal Baker winning man of the match against Liverpool during our win at the start of Lamberts penultimate season win at Anfield. So much promise and just so unlucky with injuries until recently. Really dissappointed to see him go as will do a job especially in this league. As for being a Cahill I don't think he will make it that far as we have seen so much more of him than Gary Cahill in a villa shirt! Wish him every success for the future unless against the villa of course. Bruce will make some contiversial decisions to get us where we belong I am sure UTV.

Fair play to wiolves, however second half we didn't make it too hard for them. They looked full of confidence and certainly had a cutting edge. Have to say I felt quite satisfied with the first half but yet again we came out second half and sat off played too deep and there was only going to be one team who was going to score.
Wolves deserved it and look good for an automatic spot where as we are stilll looking ok for a play off spot? going to get tough when meet some of the quality sides in the division as today showed. May go under the radar at work next week as work in the Black Ciuntry!

Will never knock Barry. He was a really good Villa captain always stepped up, penalty taker and a leader on the pitch. Was delighted when he broke out of the youth as midfield and then centre half. So reliable and stayed clear of injury and controversy. Great when got England recognition as the missing part of midfield. Ok so he was poached by the then richest club with a wealth of stars to play with. He left us as we just couldn't match his expectations of glory whereas MCFC could and did. Solid player and a Prem League great but not an all time 11 great for villa but thanks to Barry for the memories UTV.

Oh the joy of a good wholesome 90 minutes! At last we have given out a good pasting to a team. We need the odd game like this to show promotion credentials! Happy with scrappy wins as well of course! Roll on Bolton and Wolves we're coming for you UTV.
