We have had a loan bid rejected for Fuchs . I thought we was trying to get the average squad age down!

I know it’s already been said but for me we should be concentrating on Rico Henry @ Brentford. Young and quick who doesn’t shy away from a tackle.

Villa_kenn

1.) 28 Jan 2019 15:00:31
Fuchs ache!

2.) 28 Jan 2019 16:32:45
Maybe Brentford want too much money? While the owners may be willing to cover the lower FFP fines I'm sure they're not looking to push their luck.
If Fuchs on loan was a reasonable option then I'd have been happy, not past it and an upgrade on Taylor to see us through until the summer.

3.) 28 Jan 2019 23:11:30
My Mrs is an upgrade on Taylor .

31 Jan 2017 15:49:34
So stan collymore pipes up in twitter slating how we have spent obscene amount of money since Dr Xia arrived

And how hogan isn't work the 9million rising to 12 million we are apparently paying

Tell you what Stan . pipe down, you talk crap about everyone when actually you was one of the biggest let downs to play for Us

Cost 7million in 1997 and scored 15 goals in 3 seasons

Now that's an obscene amount of money for nothing in return . so Stan pipe down you clown

Villa_kenn

1.) 31 Jan 2017 16:28:10
Mate he's just sour, because he's not involved with the club and we are on the up!

2.) 31 Jan 2017 16:53:12
Bang on Villa Ken! I remember collywobble being the biggest waist of money I had ever seen. He moaned about depression whilst earning £25,000 per week which at the time was mega and still is! Shut your big trap Stan let's thank the Doc not pull him to bits! Who do you think you are!?

26 Jan 2017 14:29:13
According to SSN there have been bids from other clubs for scott hogan

Hope we're one of them as he looks a good player

McCormack wants to move back to London . I would offer McCormack plus the Gestede money for hogan

See if we can get it done!

Villa_kenn

1.) 26 Jan 2017 17:27:42
I'd love to sign him aswell but would we need him? So far we've gone with 1 up top so unless we're playing Kodija out wide again don't see him getting off the bench!

23 Jan 2017 21:58:27
So Sheffield Wednesday are after Rhodes

They really do have a quality strike force presently, adding to it would surely make a bit of a conundrum for them as to how they would fit all there strikers into the same team .

I have said it before and will say it again but maybe a bid for forestieri should be made with him playing in behind Kodjia that would be quality!

I would also try wells from Huddersfield!

Also if Hull would sell to us I think Hernandez is quality but it would take £20 million to get him . Should we sell the poison dwarf then he should also be an option.

Villa_kenn

1.) 23 Jan 2017 22:06:31
Yes Ken, but we have all said the same for weeks mate.
Nothing new there, its all old ground.

2.) 23 Jan 2017 22:09:20
Maybe SB reads these pages Dave and takes a mental note 📝

3.) 23 Jan 2017 22:21:24
Spot on Ken good point mate.

4.) 23 Jan 2017 22:21:22
All good stuff kenn I agree but it's all been said on here for weeks, hopefully we find some quality to help kodja but with Akpom being mentioned it doesn't fill anyone with confidence. However give Bruce his due his been brilliant so far this window, maybe timing a bit poor but has found absolute bargains and refused to let us be mugged off, so if McCormack goes I'm sure he will sign some quality.

5.) 23 Jan 2017 22:45:57
Rhodes is never worth the £8 million Wednesday are reportedly about to bid and Bruce was right to pull out. Can we afford another Mcormack situation having paid over the odds for an average Player. The press will say Wednesday beat Villa to the signing but in reality Villa had first refusal. Well done Steve Bruce.

21 Jan 2017 14:48:21
So team news is Lansbury starts along side land crab .

McCormack and jedinack don't even make the 18! And gabby is the only recognised striker besides your Davies .

There was no injurys mentioned by Bruce in yesterday's press conference

Could McCormack be off?

Also hogan has been left out the Brentford squad

Villa_kenn

1.) 21 Jan 2017 17:45:07
hogan off to westham

After last night and the departure of Alan Hutton .

I think we have a new song to replace the out going Hutton Scottish Cafu

The French Cafu, the French cafu .

Freddy Guilbert the French Cafu

Based on that 45 mins you can see why deano brought him . I actually think he runs more than super John.

Villa_kenn

1.) 18 Jul 2019 18:15:04
Gilbert was very good.
Think we have a bargain there for the money going by the mad fees paid on players.
Aslo jota showed he will be a asset for the squad.

10 Jul 2019 15:58:41
Konsa coming by the looks of it 👍😱

Maybe Deano read this page and saw my recommendations .

I hope Maupay comes with him double deal 20m + hogan.

Villa_kenn

1.) 10 Jul 2019 16:28:01
It certainly looks like it kenn, I take my hat off to you.
I have been looking at him today, and must say he has glowing reports.
Great shout kenn, fingers crossed on Maupay.

2.) 10 Jul 2019 19:21:58
Cheers Dave .

It was luck rather than judgement 🤪

I’m hoping Maupay comes with him 20m for him and Konsa with hogan going the other way would be about right.

3.) 10 Jul 2019 20:04:06
That along with Phillips, Trezeguet and Heaton should just about see us ready for Battle.
Genuine competition all over the pitch, happy days hey kenn.

4.) 10 Jul 2019 21:08:55
Agree Dave to be fair . wouldn’t mind Cahill as an olde head at the back also

Or am I just being greedy.

5.) 10 Jul 2019 21:10:37
I reckon we need 5, if that five are Heston, Konsa, Phillips, Trezeguet and Maupay, I think we can sit back and say Smith and Purslow have done all they can in the transfer window, the owners have backed him and this is the best prepared we could be for the season.

6.) 10 Jul 2019 21:38:38
No not greedy, I have read somewhere tonight that the problem with Cahill are his wage demands.
If that is going to be the case best to leave alone and not cause any upset in the dressing room.

7.) 11 Jul 2019 08:25:14
Shame if true because now that Jedinak and Whelan have left we’re missing an older player who’s a real leader, jacks probably going to remain captain but you want someone who’s seen it and done it for the last 10 years just to reign everyone in when they need to, calm things down, guide the younger lads. We’ve still got Chezzie but I can’t see him being involved too much if the stories about his body are true.

08 Jul 2019 20:03:25
So the big man is back . tbh regardless of the fee I think he was worth every penny .

The man imo is a legend in the making irrespective of his performances on the pitch.

Having watched his first interview he appreciates the fans and our support . It makes a massive difference these days

So who’s next

Not that i'm being greedy at all, we are apparently after another 3. Personally I would like these 6 🤪😂 mainly as they are quality and cheaper than what we are rumoured to be after

Maupay 12m + hogan
Rognier 7m + Kalinic
Cahill free
Trezeguet 9-10m
Etheridge 10m
Konza 12m

Total outlay £51 million which is £29 million less than we have been quoted for 3 players in which the transfers are on hold i.e Butland, Phillips and Benrahma.

Villa_kenn

1.) 08 Jul 2019 20:38:06
I agree 100% with your first 5 kenn, not so sure about Konza.
I would prefer Phillips from Leeds who can cover the center back spot anyway if needed.
I have a feeling we are close to getting Phillips anyway, he has turned Leeds latest offer down, and they are looking for a defensive mid as we speak.

2.) 08 Jul 2019 21:14:21
Couple of decent suggestions there mate, although don't think we need to sign two keepers and I'd need a few pints of whatever you're on before I think any player could be a legend 'irrespective of his performances on the pitch'!?!?
Also, we need a really solid central midfielder too in my opinion.

3.) 08 Jul 2019 21:57:46
Problem is Rongier wouldn’t fit in and we’d still be needing a defensive midfielder, Rongier plays much further forward.

4.) 08 Jul 2019 22:12:24
I do get where your coming from Dave and yes I thought the same about Konza .

That was until someone said he was the best under 21 CB In England .

So I YouTubed him and I was pleasantly surprised . Reminds me a bit of Axel .

DJC I didn’t think I said I wanted two keepers . Did I? Also isn’t Rognier a CDM for Nantes?

As for legend (in the making) as i put it, and pints of what ever I’m having. well there was me thinking I only said one keeper and a solid central midfielder . So can I please have some pints of what your having on a school night.

5.) 08 Jul 2019 23:03:41
Who are the two keepers DJC?

6.) 09 Jul 2019 07:02:30
Chris .
Valentin Rongier is a defensive midfielder and captain of Nantes

Just saying 🤪.

7.) 09 Jul 2019 09:48:01
Villa_Kenn Rongier is captain of Nantes, but he doesn’t play defensive midfield for them. just saying😂.

He’s played their on occasion the same way Hourihane has for us, but over 38 games that’s a square peg in a round hole, because he plays further forward for his current club regularly, so there’s not much to suggest he can do it for a season for us. We’ve done that in the past, not again.

Also on Konsa, I wouldn’t go off YouTube clips, Micah Richards looks colossal on YouTube. I watched Konsa for the U21’s this summer and he wasn’t the best to say the least, it also speaks volumes that Smith has worked with him but hasn’t gone in for him despite the low buy out clause. He’s young so could grow but he is by no means the finished article, and there’s not much to suggest he can do it for 38 games in the prem.

8.) 09 Jul 2019 10:44:07
Chris avfc . could it not be that for Nantes he is actually a square peg in a round hole?

On both Wikipedia and transfer market he is down as a defensive midfielder!

Not that I’m going to split heirs on it.

as for Konsa I agree he is young and learning his trade . But didn’t all the U21’s play 💩 recently?

Konsa played 41 games for Brentford last season and all three games in the u21 tournament so Imo can’t be that bad

I never actually said he would be good for 38 premier league games

I also said in my post get Cahill on a free . So having Mings, Chester, Cahill and Konsa would mean we have 4centre backs which given cheaters dodgy knee and Cahill’s age isn’t a bad thing

Just because it’s not in the papers who smith is going for doesn’t mean Jack does it? Did we see the Wesley deal coming?

9.) 09 Jul 2019 10:50:24
Hi Villa_Kenn, my bad on the two goalkeepers comment, I was attempting to multitask and saw the Kalinic bit of your post and assumed you were recommending two keepers.
As I said, plenty of good suggestions so no offense meant.
You have to admit though it's pretty funny to suggest someone is a legend in the making irrespective of performances on the pitch. all meant in good spirits though, it's silly season on the transfer rumour front so we need to have a sense of humour with it :)
UTV.

10.) 09 Jul 2019 13:19:42
I could go and change that Wikipedia article to say he’s a basketball player, check who scored, last season he played 3 times as a defensive midfielder. I’m not arguing I’m just pointing out he wouldn’t fit as a defensive midfielder and I don’t think smith and co see him as one.

As for Konsa there’s definitely room to grow due to his age, and playing under Boothroyd for England is bound to make you look 💩, I’d take Cahill, then we’ve got 4 decent centre backs and reassess next season.

11.) 09 Jul 2019 13:31:22
I wasn’t offended DJC it’s not a problem it’s all in good humour mukka

Over and above everything we are all brummies together.

With regards to legend comment, I kind of agree that the comment can be taken out of context but what I meant was he has adhered himself to the fans and can almost be classed as one of our own .

Don’t get me wrong there is only one super jack, but how Mings holds himself as a footballer earning ludicrous amounts of money every week is certainly welcoming .

In this day and age most footballers are just at clubs for money as it’s a job . But how many actually recognise the fans and what we do for the club? Imo not many .

When I said legend in the making it was based on his appreciation to us the fans which doesn’t happen that often from players that aren’t playing for their home town clubs.

12.) 09 Jul 2019 14:03:53
Jesus Chris are we really splitting heirs over Wikipedia and the fact you could change it 😂😂😂👍

I’m sure you could and we’ll done

Do you have a wiki profile? I could change yours to argues black is white 🤪😂

Being serious now, I get your point and all we are is having a bit of banter .

The kid looks a good player, we don’t know who we will sign as DS will get whom he feels fits the way we play etc

However my comment was made of the fact we was linked with Rongier as a DM with money and Kalinic going the opposite way .

19 Jan 2019 15:42:55
Wow we really are 💩. I’m lost for words.

I have to say the more I see of Abraham the more I like him as a player

If the owners could get around FFP then I would try and break the bank for this kid . 25m would potentially get him.

Villa_kenn

1.) 29 Nov 2018 21:53:57
I agree Kenn.

2.) 30 Nov 2018 13:18:49
Would love to see abraham sign.
The way he is looking now got a feeling Chelsea may keep him.

I’m not sure about Diagne to be honest .

Scoring record is amazing

However looking on the bible that it you tube 😂 he doesn’t look great and link up play and bringing others into the game .

I would prefer Augustine to be honest but who am I 🤪

One thing for sure is deano is creating a team that can score goals from front to back so I’m not worried if we don’t get another striker.

Daz I get your point however when you say a 15-20 goal a season striker in the premier league that’s easier said than done.

Last season the top scorers was

22 goals - salah, Aubameyang and Mane
21 goals - Aguero
18 goals - Vardy
17 goals - Kane and Sterling
16 goals - hazard
14 goals - wilson

These are the top strikers in the league . Only 8 players scored more than 15 league goals all top players

The issue is 15-20 goal a season strikers don’t grow on trees .

Yes we need another striker, however the philosophy deano is trying to create is that goals can come from all over the pitch therefore not burdening the likes of Wesley and others.

Great result yesterday .

The entire team was class from back to front .

I’m not sure how any of you can moan about a player that wasn’t in the team .

If Taylor was playing, irrespective of my views on the lad I would support the choices made by Deano In order to get the result .

Taylor is not a great player no, but every time he puts the claret and blue on I will support him!

It’s been a hard few weeks work wise Dave. Maybe I’m being affected by the fact I am unable to tell the company director he is a complete and utter Buffoon with the business acumen of the ill fated John Towers who decided to ruin Rover 😂😂

Being serious, I’m a simply football fan, a realist and a supporter of Aston Villa Football Club.

What I’m not Is some fantasist, who writes absolute garbage posts and does not live in this world . i'm also not a hanger on to 1982 (I was 4). On the flip side I did play against Withe’s son Steve on numerous occasions. he wasn’t as good as his dad 👍🤪

What does frustrate me greatly is posters on here continually slating players and coaching staff for performances and team selections. It’s beyond a joke, especially after 4 games.

You think because you pay to watch the team you have a god given right to be so critical at every given opportunity

Some of you need to get a grip, imagine being at work and your customers or your bosses continually slating your performances work wise . Would this make you work harder or better of course it wouldn’t .

I’m a great believer in positivity breeds positivity, so get behind the team.
