We have had a loan bid rejected for Fuchs . I thought we was trying to get the average squad age down!

I know it’s already been said but for me we should be concentrating on Rico Henry @ Brentford. Young and quick who doesn’t shy away from a tackle.

Fuchs ache!

2.) 28 Jan 2019 16:32:45
Maybe Brentford want too much money? While the owners may be willing to cover the lower FFP fines I'm sure they're not looking to push their luck.
If Fuchs on loan was a reasonable option then I'd have been happy, not past it and an upgrade on Taylor to see us through until the summer.

3.) 28 Jan 2019 23:11:30
My Mrs is an upgrade on Taylor .

So stan collymore pipes up in twitter slating how we have spent obscene amount of money since Dr Xia arrived

And how hogan isn't work the 9million rising to 12 million we are apparently paying

Tell you what Stan . pipe down, you talk crap about everyone when actually you was one of the biggest let downs to play for Us

Cost 7million in 1997 and scored 15 goals in 3 seasons

Now that's an obscene amount of money for nothing in return . so Stan pipe down you clown

Villa_kenn

1.) 31 Jan 2017 16:28:10
Mate he's just sour, because he's not involved with the club and we are on the up!

2.) 31 Jan 2017 16:53:12
Bang on Villa Ken! I remember collywobble being the biggest waist of money I had ever seen. He moaned about depression whilst earning £25,000 per week which at the time was mega and still is! Shut your big trap Stan let's thank the Doc not pull him to bits! Who do you think you are!?

26 Jan 2017 14:29:13
According to SSN there have been bids from other clubs for scott hogan

Hope we're one of them as he looks a good player

McCormack wants to move back to London . I would offer McCormack plus the Gestede money for hogan

See if we can get it done!

Villa_kenn

1.) 26 Jan 2017 17:27:42
I'd love to sign him aswell but would we need him? So far we've gone with 1 up top so unless we're playing Kodija out wide again don't see him getting off the bench!

23 Jan 2017 21:58:27
So Sheffield Wednesday are after Rhodes

They really do have a quality strike force presently, adding to it would surely make a bit of a conundrum for them as to how they would fit all there strikers into the same team .

I have said it before and will say it again but maybe a bid for forestieri should be made with him playing in behind Kodjia that would be quality!

I would also try wells from Huddersfield!

Also if Hull would sell to us I think Hernandez is quality but it would take £20 million to get him . Should we sell the poison dwarf then he should also be an option.

Villa_kenn

1.) 23 Jan 2017 22:06:31
Yes Ken, but we have all said the same for weeks mate.
Nothing new there, its all old ground.

2.) 23 Jan 2017 22:09:20
Maybe SB reads these pages Dave and takes a mental note 📝

3.) 23 Jan 2017 22:21:24
Spot on Ken good point mate.

4.) 23 Jan 2017 22:21:22
All good stuff kenn I agree but it's all been said on here for weeks, hopefully we find some quality to help kodja but with Akpom being mentioned it doesn't fill anyone with confidence. However give Bruce his due his been brilliant so far this window, maybe timing a bit poor but has found absolute bargains and refused to let us be mugged off, so if McCormack goes I'm sure he will sign some quality.

5.) 23 Jan 2017 22:45:57
Rhodes is never worth the £8 million Wednesday are reportedly about to bid and Bruce was right to pull out. Can we afford another Mcormack situation having paid over the odds for an average Player. The press will say Wednesday beat Villa to the signing but in reality Villa had first refusal. Well done Steve Bruce.

21 Jan 2017 14:48:21
So team news is Lansbury starts along side land crab .

McCormack and jedinack don't even make the 18! And gabby is the only recognised striker besides your Davies .

There was no injurys mentioned by Bruce in yesterday's press conference

Could McCormack be off?

Also hogan has been left out the Brentford squad

Villa_kenn

1.) 21 Jan 2017 17:45:07
hogan off to westham

I have to say the more I see of Abraham the more I like him as a player

If the owners could get around FFP then I would try and break the bank for this kid . 25m would potentially get him.

Villa_kenn

1.) 29 Nov 2018 21:53:57
I agree Kenn.

2.) 30 Nov 2018 13:18:49
Would love to see abraham sign.
The way he is looking now got a feeling Chelsea may keep him.

Which is the way the football is going .

For me Dean Smith is the only man to take the club forward . Get him in give him a 5 year contract and let him bring a club philosophy on how to play football.

So guys it appears that the majority got their wish as the manager has been sacked .

I backed Bruce for the majority of his tenure as he stablised the club, however towards the end there was no choice but to let him go as his decisions was somewhat disjointed, players out of position, not playing to the teams strengths finally brining players in and just not using them .

Saw a post last night by villa fan mike, I couldn’t agree more with the content especially about us fans getting on every managers back .

So I’m currently watching the Leeds vs Brentford match . Two very good ball playing g teams.

We really are the laughing stock again
Bruce might as well stay in Portugal because there might not be a team to manage when he comes back,
This is truly terrible news.

2.) 05 Jun 2018 17:26:42
Come back Doug!

I agree with Mings and Maupay . not sure about Roofe

I think we need two strikers To be brought in

not sure about Abraham, don’t get me wrong he has been superb for us this season but never made it in the premiere league as yet .

If Chelsea would sell him, I think Michy Batshuayi is a better option . Scored 7 goals in 11 appearances
for Palace and at 23 is a little bit more mature than Abraham .

If Abraham will cost 25m then maybe Batshuayi will be around 30-35m

Just and option.

I may be wrong but I think we was quoted 20million for Maupay in January when Abraham was potentially going to the dingles

I think this kid is a good player like McGinn I’m terms of a total pain in the ass to opponents but can score goals.

Going rate for a 21 year old

I would also buy Maupay as that guy is a horrible little f&@ker

He would be a defenders worst nightmare IMO.

No Dave you are very level headed sir and I agree with most of the things you say bud

we need to think before we can walk .

I read the below on Facebook from another villa fan who like myself feels we are getting hyped up living on past glories and the fact the getting owner have deep pockets .

He hits the nail on the head in reference to the Ajax methodology and one that I would been keen to look at and follow

‘“Ok everyone, calm down please. were all buzzing about promotion and excited about this transfer window and bloody rightfully so! just can we please not start with the "not this player, that player and them players". if dean smith has earned anything, its for us to trust what he's doing here. i mean i'd love to see tomorrow bale holding a villa shirt saying he's signing but we have to be realistic and i believe in what dean smith is doing. whether its bloody maupay or messi i'm behind smith with his calls until i have reason not to be. let's not forget the "big championship" players we signed to make it easy. not that we will walk into the prem and be a force straight away but look at Ajax, they buy promising young players and ingrain their style into them and its working.

In smith i trust UTV VTID”.

Wow you lot are all crazy 😂😂

We are back in the premier league, yes it’s amazing and yes we have owners with deep pockets .

However let’s walk before we can run right .

Just because Maupay is championship player does that mean he is not worth a try? Didn’t Jamie Vardy come from none league?

Maupay is 22 years and has time to grow . Mitrovic has not overly impressed either at Newcastle or Fulham in the premier league .

Imagine If Mings had not been on loan and we put a 15 million offer for him as a Bournemouth reserve player you lot would of all been up in arms saying not good enough

We have no divine right to buy any player, deep pockets or not . It takes time to build a legacy it’s not instantaneous.

The owners want to develop players and given how. The manager has taken us to the promised land I would at this moment in time trust his instincts to build what ever team he sees fit to compete in the premier league .

The job isn’t too big for him . it’s a perfect match.

4eva were all allowed and opinion . And your entitled to yours sir . We all want success as it’s what every supporter craves

Mitrovic is a good player I agree, however

Is he overly prolific? No

Is he a Dean smith type of player? No

if mitrovic is such a premiership talent and would walk into most teams the why did he have to drop down to the championship with Fulham on loan?

He has played for 5 teams and was prolific at both Anderlecht and Fulham on loan In the championship .

Last season in 37 appearances for Fulham he scored 11 goals .

Fulham would want 25-30million for him . and he doesn’t really suit the Dean smith philosophy.

If we’re looking for a powerful, paced forward now Maupay then maybe Batshuayi could be an option as he Is a powerful but pacey forward who has the same sort of goal ratio to mitrovic.

4eva it’s exciting times irrespective of the players we attract or sign .

I for one trust Dean Smith to make the correct decisions and sign players with potential and also experience

However mitrovic has not achieved success with either Fulham or Newcastle in the premier league,

Big Ben isn’t the player he was since failing miserably at Liverpool

Rondon as a player I like however WBA will want 15-20million for him and at 29 it’s too much .

We talk about experienced premier league quality players.

Didn’t we assemble a team of championship quality players 3 years ago with a view to going straight back up?

McCormack, Elphick, Chester, Adomah, Kodjia to name a few . 3 seasons later and 3 managers we are back where we belong .

We can all speculate about players, and i want villa to excite me .

But what excites me is not the calibre of player but the style of football, winning more than we lose, and the players on the pitch giving all they can for the team.

I couldn’t agree more avilla fan

The team that smith inherited is one which is totally unbalanced and need to be ripped apart and started again with .

Being Brutally honest out of the entire team there is less than a handful that I would keep .

Those being

Kalinic
Mcginn
Grealish
Kodjia (maybe)
Green
Davis
El Ghazi (option to purchase)
Possibly Hourihane . but there are better

The rest I would sell or move on . It should be a cull top to bottom.

We are talking about players most have which have had plenty of opportunity to produce the goods for 2-3 managers.

I think the past is irrelevant, yesterday was another day .

The last five games are all in the past let’s nust keep looking forward and climb that table .

Brucie is in the past, I thank him for his efforts . But let’s not dwell on his stewardship let’s look forward to the Smith era

I for one hope that he is with us for years to come, I would like a manger that is here for the long haul who we back through thick and thin .

Finally we are playing attractive football .
