I am very confident Deano has seen our defensive frailties and will address them as soon as he is able to, our defence is very poor at the moment, but I must say Nyland was very poor tonight.
I admit I have defended him over the last few weeks and felt he needed time to settle, tonight was dreadful and I was shocked at his decision making and positioning.

It was a great game to watch and for the neutrals, but not good for the nerves of us Villa fans, especially my age.
I wonder if Deano will give Bunn a couple of games just to steady the ship a bit and to take a bit of pressure of Nyland.
Going forward we are looking very good, and our overall play is much better.
Another lesson tonight, if you are direct and speculate you will eventually get rewards, forests forth goal is testimony to that.

So if Martinez was to come in, would that mean Henry would be his number 2.
The plot thickens.

1.) 08 Oct 2018 20:15:36
Id have Martinez good manager and he knows the championship.

2.) 09 Oct 2018 17:49:02
Villa4ever make your mind up you wanted Brendon Rodgers yesterday now it’s Martinez and before that it was Henry who will you want tomorrow coco the clown.
I’m just glad you’re not in the decision making as your always posting absolute nonsense all the time and supporters who may post on here aren’t going to because it’s a circus.
You are to this forum what Diane Abbot is to economics and mathematics lol.

07 Oct 2018 16:48:22
It seems this rumour about Henry and Terry is gaining momentum, and is not going away.
This could be very exiting if true.
I know it would not guarantee success, but we would have arguably the best striker and defender we have seen in this country for the last 20years.
If this happens I hope we can keep the likes of Delaney and McDonald at the club, I say this because they are Villa through and through, and there is very little wrong with our reserve and youth set up.
I am sure a roll for Stan Petrov could be found on the coaching side of things, that would give us a set up that has it all.
I think it would be nice to show Stan a bit of faith, after all he was a gladiator for us in midfield.

1.) 07 Oct 2018 17:03:03
I’d love that Dave. I hope they make an announcement soon, so who ever it is has this break to try and add some positivity to the club.

2.) 07 Oct 2018 17:26:38
Agree surely there's a coaching role Stan could do, I hope these rumours are true about jt n henry, the players would listen to those 2 there winners, Brendan Rodgers would be good, either i'm a happy bunny 😁😁.

I will direct this at you Mainbob, simply because you are the last to post.
I have to say, I am disgusted with the attitude of some on here, you are all wallowing in the incident with Bruce last night, unbelievable and shameful.
You all think you are so funny with the kind of remarks you are making, all I can say is how would you feel if it was your Mother or Father coming under the same kind of abuse, Just think about it.
I want a change in management as much as anyone, but my god, I have more dignity than that.
The guy who threw the cabbage at Steve Bruce is a total person and an imbecile and should be banned for life if he is identified.
It`s all we and good venting your disapproval towards someone but to throw missiles of any description is moronic.
Please don't reply to me if you are backing this type of behaviour, instead go and spend some time growing up.
My patience on here is being severely tested, Villa fans it's a joke, have some bloody dignity and pride.
From a true Villa fan, not a hooligan.

1.) 03 Oct 2018 17:13:17
I don't think you should post on here if you don't want people to disagree with you.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and my opinion is that someone throwing a cabbage at Steve Bruce is quite funny.
If my mother or father was in a high profile, highly paid position and someone threw a cabbage at them, I don't think it would upset me too much.

2.) 03 Oct 2018 17:30:55
If you read my post this morning I was disgusted with the fans last night and I did a big post on it,
I defended Bruce and was really sorry how he was treated,
Amazed you have picked out me to vent your anger.

3.) 03 Oct 2018 17:44:26
Prob that’s fine mate, if someone does throw a cabbage at you mom, I hope for your sake it doesn`t hit her square in the face, because it would hurt.
I don’t mind people replying cock, I will talk all day to people who are sensible with valid opinions.
In my opinion yours is not valid, its dangerous is it not?
I am sure you could find some Doc Martins about if you tried, I will keep my eyes open.

4.) 03 Oct 2018 17:56:19
Bob Yes that was this morning but you have followed suit with other comments,
And I did point out that I said your name because you posted last.
That was abuse last night, and you can dress it up all you like, its not on mate, end of.
Nothing personal, you know how I feel about abuse I have backed you up many times on here in the past.

5.) 04 Oct 2018 07:22:31
Dave what have I said that's got your goat,
Please enlighten me.

6.) 04 Oct 2018 07:34:06
I think if my Father was earning 2 Million a year, with 40 years experience, and managing one of the largest football clubs in the country he would have a thick enough skin to know this is football.

The cabbage was disgraceful but some of the comments on here are comical, I don't condone it by any stretch and hoped Villa fans would have more class but surely you have all seen much worse incidents at other clubs.

Villa fans amaze me, we have been shouting to get Bruce removed for months and now he is gone we focus and argue about the manner in which he was removed - Let's look forward, together.

7.) 04 Oct 2018 08:37:40

Hear hear let's all move on and support whoever is our next manager.

8.) 08 Oct 2018 15:22:26
i would applaud the choice of vegetable.

I think you mean Santa Ponsa don`t you Dave.
That and the Mcginn.
Is it the sun or the pop that`s getting to you.

1.) 19 May 2019 23:27:26
Actually Dave, here they pronounce it Santa Ponca. I must agree the beer has been getting to me, but the sun only came out properly today . Hopefully we at least get another, couple of days . But am I bothered no, we are at Wembley, So what’s a bit of sunshine .
Onwards and Upwards Villaforever
Let’s hope we all have a day to remember UTV.

15 Apr 2019 16:42:15
Hi Mainbob.
Glad to hear you and your wife are doing better.
I have inquired about you a couple of times, so really pleased you are back on board.
I have been through the same mate, and it does shake you up.
Regards to you and your wife and let's hope all goes well from here on.

1.) 15 Apr 2019 18:27:21
Hi dave,
Thanks for asking where i have been,
A very dark place to be honest but hopefully things will get better now.
Heard some nice things said on here and its lovely to see for me and the missus.
On the villa still catching up with highlights of the games i missed.
Very impressed with smith and the team.
Could not see this coming before i got ill.
But i'm very confident we will get up barring any bad injuries or suspensions.
Just worried about this mcginn with his 13 yellow cards.
15 and he could miss play offs and final itself.
But got to say the villa are flying and so sad to have missed the 8 game run due to me in a coma.
Anyway mate speak to you again .

2.) 15 Apr 2019 21:56:18
Ok Bob, will do.

09 Apr 2019 17:38:56
Is this site dying or what.
I think Ed is the leading poster on here now.

1.) 09 Apr 2019 19:59:45
Let’s make an effort to post or reply to a post after every game from now until the end of the season, that’s minimum 6, maximum 9 posts.

2.) 10 Apr 2019 10:11:41
As you say, it’s been very quiet. There hasent been anything to comment on .
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

3.) 10 Apr 2019 10:38:12
We have always had a reputation of being fickle and it is I suppose only human nature to write posts when enraged or in despair! Posts or lack of reflect on just how contented and delighted we all are with the current 6 in a row incredible turn around! Or we are too intoxicated post match to write! Have to say however my villa doubting demons are creeping in with us facing Rotherham tonight! In the past this has been a typical match to bring us back down to earth! Must win with Bristol winning and Boro last night putting the squeeze on us. Other good results went our way and can't wait for full villa park on Saturday rocking!

03 Mar 2019 12:01:30
I agree with Davedean on sticking with the same side against Blues.
Defies all logic to change a winning team after the run we have had.
I think it will be the bench that will be crucial next week.
Give the team some confidence and keep the same side, after all we are playing the noses not Real Madrid.

1.) 03 Mar 2019 14:21:53
Dave, do you think it’s something to do with the name, but we do usually agree. You would fit in well at the club I go to on a Friday, I think the record so far, is 12 Daves on the same night .
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

2.) 03 Mar 2019 14:30:58
Dave, nearly all of the comments have their merits and can fully understand sticking with a winning formula, however derbys are fast and frenetic and I think this suits McGinn's style, my 50p bet (if I was a betting man) would be McGinn for Albert. Either way let's stick it up em. Worried about Taylor though they will try and exploit his many weaknesses.

3.) 03 Mar 2019 14:47:10
Could be Dave, strange really my son is named Dean as well.
I will have to say I have a soft spot for you mate.
A lot of people complicate the game of football, I don`t and it looks like you don`t either.
To quote a legend in Bill Shankly:
Football is a simple game based on the giving and taking of passes, of controlling the ball and of making yourself available to receive a pass. It really is terribly simple.
What a great quote that is.

4.) 03 Mar 2019 14:59:59
Dave, it would be a good idea, to put that quote on the dressing room wall .
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

5.) 03 Mar 2019 15:25:11
Scotty, no need to play Taylor, then all concerns are eliminated.
Careful with that betting mate, sounds like its getting a grip.

6.) 03 Mar 2019 18:10:23
12 Daves!
Is that a record?

Objective is to win at the cow shed and we top them.

7.) 03 Mar 2019 18:54:07
My name is Dave as well that is genuine, TOV that makes 13 hope it's not unlucky this week.

8.) 04 Mar 2019 06:21:19
Watch the final episode of Are You Dave Gorman? That must be the record in one room even for Dave's, let alone sharing the surname also.

9.) 04 Mar 2019 17:52:11
Do we have a full team of Daves?
Bit of fun, not much on here, list yourselves position and see if we can get a top Xl.
What a team sheet.
Dave Dave Dave Dave
Dave Dave
Dave Dave Dave

Res Dave

Gone 4 at the back, with 2 d/ midfield, then 3 providers and a final Dave up front.
Sorry for the ref when he undoubtedly books Dave for simulation of Dave, sorry Dive.

10.) 04 Mar 2019 19:33:05
I will go left side attacking mid oldvillan.

11.) 05 Mar 2019 20:37:13
Dave looks like we are on our own, and I ain't a Dave.
Should we go one at the back and one up front or could you cover midfield and forward line and I will get the big boots out across the back and get Triplex to get a piece of toughened glass 24ft x 8ft.

12.) 06 Mar 2019 16:02:11
Great idea oldvillan, Great plan A, what about plan B if things go tits upwards mate?

13.) 07 Mar 2019 16:14:08
No probs.
I get you a pair of big boots and we play 2 at the back, you left me right.
You know the way an attacking midfield plays so you revere your role and I just do what I always did.
We could start Sunday at the cow shed.
Should manage to inflict some damage.
Once we are on the road the other Dave's will be with us.

15 Feb 2019 17:05:02
Too Villadaz below 14:48.
When you say you two, you mean chris and I, right.
Daz, where have I ridiculed anybody, I am arguing my point against their point, what is wrong with that mate, surely they can respond themselves, they are adults are they not.
You go on to say that I am spouting off, spouting off about what, I am disagreeing with scott and defending our manager for goodness sake.
So you are saying it`s okay for us to trash the manager verbally and shout the odds about him not knowing what he is doing, and that we should get rid, are you for real.
How would you feel if you were the manager reading what people are saying about you after such a short time, you would probably tell them to stick the job, am I right.
I have called nobody on here an idiot, a fool, clueless, or any other derogatory names, and I am certainly not aiming any malice towards scotty, I happen to love the banter.
What I don't like is people jumping the gun and condemning someone without giving them the chance and time they deserve.

1.) 15 Feb 2019 18:25:30
VD, I like you enjoy the banter and would certainly not categorise you in the bigot camp. I certainly do not feel any malice thrown my way from you. I accept your "give the guy a chance position. No one wanted Smith to succeed more than me, however he has to take some responsibility, that's what management is all about in any walk of life. I object to some of his team selections and would have hoped that him and his experienced coaches could have plugged some of the "holes in the culinder" by now. So let's agree to disagree, rembering that i felt the same as you with Garde Dimatteo lambert bruce etc and "give them a chance and patience" has been knocked out of me. The aforementioned are all still wealthy men and we continue to suffer so let's show Deano are expections are not unreasonable.

2.) 15 Feb 2019 18:54:39
Thank you for that scotty, I am happy you feel that way.
As far as this debate is concerned I have to agree with you, we shall have to agree to disagree.
Thanks again mate.

3.) 15 Feb 2019 19:05:24
Dave the ridiculing was not aimed at you mate. I said to you before I like some of your posts and you do put facts with your posts which I love. But the fact of the matter is this same team that is losing or drawing battered Derby and Boro in fact played them off the park how can we go from that to how we are now. Playing 2 holding midfielders and a lone striker come on bud everyone can see this is not working and why? Because Smith has changed it no-one else. You know I didn't want Smith in the 1st place I feel he is to inexperienced managing Walsall and Brentford is not a good CV in my honest opinion being a Villa fan doesn't mean he will bring success back to us. let's put it this way if you was the CEO of Villa and you sacked Bruce you had all the candidates in front of you experienced managers who have been there done that and managed big name players and then you have a man who has managed Walsall and Brentford who no disrespect to those clubs have let's say lesser name players who would you pick? Because I know who I would. Dave banter I love more than the next bloke but Brentford have finished below us we can't suffer another 2 or 3 seasons in this league it could ruin us mate players come and go managers come and go owners come and go but we pay our hard earned money to watch us we need the PL sooner rather than later and in my opinion Smith is not the answer.

4.) 15 Feb 2019 19:40:04
Thanks for letting me know daz.

I remember it as well chris, bloody funny mate.
I can see your point and respect your opinion, but I am stuck with my feelings on this one.
Its a shame I know, but the prospect just does not sit right with me.
If it happened I would love nothing more than to eat humble pie with you chris.

Its been talked about before, leave well alone in my opinion.
Too moody and temperamental, grown men should not need an arm round the shoulder to make them perform.
He is not the player he was, he used to be ours, but not anymore.
Neal Maupay would be the better option, he has done very well and deserves a chance.

I agree oldvillan, George Curtis and Dick Edwards spring to mind, maybe a tad past it now, shame.
Thanks for forwarding my name mate, problem is I used to play A/ M consequently ended up having my shins kicked by people like you, haha.

I think it`s pretty obvious that mistakes from managers and players make a game RK.
If mistakes were not made mate nothing would transpire in a game would it, ha ha ha.
I thought we were a bit slow in our build up at times today, we spent far too much time passing back and sideways which ultimately cost us a goal.
The only other disappointment for me was that I thought the Baggies were there for the taking today, and with a more direct approach I think we could have done some real damage.
Tuesday will be very interesting, taking the game to them like we did in the final third of today`s game might just see us over the line, saying that, it is still all to play for.
As some have said, on Tuesday Hause for Taylor, Hourihane for Wheels, and Kodjia or Green for Adomah should stretch Albion a bit more, and hopefully create a few more clearer chances.
Well done today Villa.

Smith has and will play with 2 up top, Walsall and Brentford have played that way.
Who knows what Smith would do with his formation with better and more versatile players at his disposal.

I have said before I think Neal Maupay is a must for us.
The guy has everything, and I am sure he would more than cope with the prem if we were to get there.
I think he would bring the best out of Davis.
