Anybody know what happened to Guilbert as I've not seen anything?

I can confirm that Sturridge has held talks with Villa via his cousin who I know from Tile Cross nothing concrete in signing but has definitely had talks. For me personally I'd take him as he's a free agent and sign him on a 1 year contract.

Question: If Sturridge has a valuable dog in LA (the one that recently went awol) doesn’t that suggest he spends more time in the US than over here?

2.) 20 Jul 2019 12:05:18
That’s BS.

3.) 21 Jul 2019 09:29:59
I didn't know you was with us when the conversation was taking place Chris?

4.) 21 Jul 2019 13:09:02
Just the balance of probability.

Average age of players brought in is 23, Sturridge is 30 this season.
His banned for six weeks, huge injury concerns, hasn’t performed well for a good 4 seasons.
Purslow consistently speaks about the model of young hungry players, reliable, resale value, all traits Sturridge doesn’t have.

Add to all that the last thing you told us was Henry was buying a house in the area and was manager, I feel fairly confident in saying that’s BS, imo either your lying or someone’s lying to you.

Just my opinion based on some facts, I suppose we’ll see by the end of the window.

{Ed001's Note - he is banned for 2 weeks, 4 weeks were suspended.}

5.) 21 Jul 2019 13:39:38
Is that from season starting Ed? Or from the date of the sentencing?

{Ed001's Note - date of sentencing. He can play next month.}

6.) 21 Jul 2019 14:01:16
The FA really are toothless.

{Ed001's Note - why are the FA toothless? Most of the accusations they made were thrown out. They wanted a 6 month ban. It was not the FA's decision. Sturridge never gambles. The issue was whether or not he told his family to bet on something or whether they chose to off their own back. Either way, it is a bit of a difficult one, Sturridge is well known to be a clean living lad, who spent a lot of time helping out with the youth teams while injured. He doesn't drink, smoke or gamble, the issue was that members of his family did after he told them about potential transfers. You can't really expect someone not to discuss their future with their family, so how do you prove whether or not he was instructing his family to make money, as the FA claimed, or if they just decided to take advantage of the knowledge?}

7.) 21 Jul 2019 17:09:25
I suppose it’s a fine line to tread, the people around him aren’t going to be in a similar financial situation to him so if they hear something they can profit off, naturally they’d be tempted to go for it. But surely you show more loyalty to Sturridge as a brother/ cousin/ son. And if it is proven, who takes the punishment?

{Ed001's Note - Sturridge is the one who gets punished as it is not illegal for them to gamble, just illegal for him to tell them to.}

8.) 21 Jul 2019 20:31:29
Chris forgive me if I'm wrong but this is a rumours site. As far as I'm aware no bets was placed by his cousin on this as he said it was only talks and nothing more. I'm not a liar Chris i'm a 50 year old man lying is not in my nature.

9.) 22 Jul 2019 09:50:07
Surely you don’t get a six week ban if you simply tell someone your moving clubs? How would the FA know or prove that he told someone that info? There has to be some evidence.

Not saying you are a liar but someone is clearly telling porkies somewhere or else our manager would be speaking french.

Looks like we have sacked some of our backroom staff. Does this mean we are getting a new sporting director and new scouts and is Mendes involved in this? God only knows. Also with Collins training with us will he fit in or is Bruce going for 3 5 2?

Wesley is a donkey don’t forget .

Welcome to the premier league big man . Absolutely bossed the entire game.

2.) 23 Aug 2019 22:15:16
Its game mate and we won't villa to do good no1 wants too see us loose every game do they .

3.) 23 Aug 2019 22:41:12
Guilbert had a decent game if you take out the yellow card (should not have been part of the pressing party) but I think tonight really proved why Smith has stuck with Taylor. He had a shocker of a cross but played a couple of decent teasing balls, made a great sliding challenge when we were under pressure and even though he sweats more than a weight watchers meeting in a sauna always seems to have legs to burn (which seems to be Southampton fans criticism of Targett) .
Wesley when he stays on his feet is exactly what I expected, pure quality.
Tonight also showed Jotas quality deserves to start every week, use the pace of El Ghazi or Trez as a sub where it's more effective like we and Portsmouth had with Andre.
Shout out to Jack who was far more influential also.

4.) 23 Aug 2019 22:51:32
Not so sure about Jack rk, thought he was poor tonight, to deep at times and needs to speed things up a bit and release the ball a bit sooner.

5.) 23 Aug 2019 23:22:27
He was deep at times but played it to a teammate quicker. We all want Jack further up the pitch but when he doesn't drop back to pick it up it's horrible how big that gap between defence and attack becomes.
His pace and stamina is improving all the time, the end of the game showed that he can do both jobs for the full 90 if he stays fit.

It's been a fantastic summer for us. Who do you think will be the most insperational signing for us this season and who will have the most impact? I'm going to say Luiz this guy just looks like he ooozes class.

Getting carried away a bit Daz.
How can you say when recruitment is not finished yet.

01 Aug 2019 13:51:57
If we have a good season and players perform then what the owners have invested so far could be doubled or even trebled this has to be the most productive transfer window I have seen in all of my years 120 million could be 240 million next year they are very clever business men in NWSE I TRUST. Move over the rest of the PL Villa are back and we mean business.

Me neither. However, in the unlikely event that we don’t comprehensively win our first game back in the top flight, I betcha there will be at least one half-wit out there who hits this site with a ‘Deano-Out’ post. Anyone want to name them now 😊.

2.) 30 Jul 2019 20:29:05
Dont even mention i love deano even if we go dwn 👍👍👍.

3.) 31 Jul 2019 08:38:26
A lot of people were calling for his head in January on here.

4.) 31 Jul 2019 12:13:37
Not to worry, Tom Heaton will save his job - apparently he can save anything 😉.

Agree Bigman to have a stable season we need a striker who can bag you 15-20 goals a season I think looking at Wesley he's not that kind of player. A few on here would like Maupay as well would he cut it in his 1st season in the PL? Don't get me wrong Maupay is a very good player but it could be in hindsight anyway as it looks like he's off to Brighton. i'm sure the management have got a striker in mind but who it is is anybody guess.

It's happening Flacks I think because the F.A have got no danglers. They should ban the fans fine them and deduct points perhaps then the majority will stand up to these animals and get them kicked out of their clubs.

To be fair RK If you watch the match again for me Taylor was drifting more central rather than sticking to his position thus giving them plenty of space down the wing. He reminds me of Hutton a bit leaving loads of space down his side so the opposition can penetrate I'm sorry for me he is a weakness in our defence Targett or Hause for me.

Some tough decisions Smith has got to make Dave all bolds well though. For the 1st time in years the feel good factor is back and its all down to NWSE.
