The Bruce out aspect of this site has become somewhat tedious over the last couple of weeks. He's not going anywhere, get used to it, get behind the team.

Could we have a hiatus through September and no-one mention it, campaign for it, add it to the end of a post just for one month so that I can enjoy scrolling through everyones diverse opinions on the team, the players, the owners, the opposition and the misery being suffered by our lesser neighbours.

What do you say all?

Sounds good to me brynner69 👍.

We have to question whether is as fans will ever be happy!

We want more progressive football, I saw people saying Arsene Wenger . was this the same man who arsenal fans wanted rid of for years!

We all need to just get behind the clubs and stop the constant negativity!

If you don’t like the football don’t watch it .

We have tried so many managers since O’Neil we have had young progressive managers, old dinosaurs and everything inbetween yet still we aren’t happy

I firmly believe that the new owners are no ones fools and they will act accordingly when and if required .

For me the only manager I would even entertain running villa is Dean Smith there is no other candidates who could do the job and take the pressure that we put on them.

Hope you both enjoy, let's hope his first game is a victory for us.
How old is he mate.
I was 5 at my first game, Peter Mac, Johnny Dixon and co.
And my son was 8, v Ipswich, D, Atkinson and D, Saunders scorers.
Have a great night brynner, You will remember it forever.

Both my lads had season tickets when they where six, they are mid 40 s now and hardly missed an games . Thay where great times, the lads where in the Villa cubs . We used to go to all the away games, they used to have matches for the kids, before the main game . The match we came up it was great, they where in the dressing room with the players . Something like that ought to be started again, if I remember rightly, the Villa used to subsidise the coaches . It certainly worked with my two, been Villa barmy ever since . That sort of thing is where our next supporters will come from Onwards& Upwards Villaforever.

4.) 10 Apr 2018 16:23:44
he's 8. villa is his team but he's surrounded by man utd friends, hoping this will spark a bit more love for the villa and I would be delighted if it means I can get to a few more games.

5.) 11 Apr 2018 08:53:42

neil taylor or alan hutton (when fit) ?

brynner69

1.) 12 Mar 2018 14:16:04
Hutton just gives so much effort all the time.

2.) 12 Mar 2018 14:57:11
Brynner that's a good question mate, especially after Saturday.
I do like Hutton with his commitment and passion.
But I would have to go with Taylor, mainly because of age and long term prospects.

3.) 12 Mar 2018 15:58:18
Hutton for me, I'm staggered how much he has turned my opinion through sheer determination. If I were picking my best team for a one off game he's one of the first names for me at the moment. I don't think we concede that goal on Saturday with him in the team and I believe that adomah plays with more freedom in front of him.
Villadave, you say Taylor's age goes for him, but he is 29 so not too far behind Hutton.
On performances this season, if/ when we go up, he deserves another year.

4.) 12 Mar 2018 16:33:46
I agree he deserves another year contract, and I see what your saying, you may well be right, Hutton has been great.
The age thing is 4 and a half years difference, Hutton will be 34 come November, Taylor was 29 last month.

5.) 12 Mar 2018 16:46:05
Two years ago most fans were ripping Hutton to shreds, how times change.
If we go up I have a feeling He would be found wanting somewhat in the prem, especially as left back is not his true position.
Just another reason I went for Taylor.

6.) 12 Mar 2018 17:48:55
Hutton everyday for me, desire, and passion we all know about. but he is better on the ball than Taylor. A few times on sat he sailed very close to the wind.
Also. Taylor still loses his head, and flys into certain challenges that make me cringe. Was lucky that he wasn’t shown a red against wolves.

7.) 13 Mar 2018 19:17:39
slightly off the original point but in Hutton's favour is that he could play left or right - which prompts another question -
Elmo or Hutton?

11 Mar 2018 13:16:01
I think the team togetherness we see is no coincidence to the form we are on. As much as I was unsure about the signing of JT I think he’s a big part of that and credit to him. Bjarnason was quick off down the tunnel last night though, shame he didn’t stay out longer with the lads.

for me, last night was kodjia's best team performance - he really looked like he was trying to work the ball using team mates and not just looking to get himself into a shooting position. him and abraham could be a great partnership.

i heard that southgate sent steve holland to watch grealish last night - not sure he's pulling up trees at the moment?

i thought elmo's passing was shocking last night - several very heavy passes back to chester and the number of times he didn't see the pass early for el gazza, who then had to check his run into space, only to receive the ball to his feet instead of in front of him where he clearly wanted it.

you say hogan stormed of in a huff - is that the new maseratti?

totally agree Villa_kenn - I think if we can generate enough opportunities in the box as well as outside, that will surely get the best out of Hogan, providing he stays fit. Having that extra pace with Bolassie and El Gazza down the flanks should provide that extra pressure we need to put on opposition defences that we've been lacking.

from what I've read in the past, I believe Henry wanted 100% control on transfers and I don't think the club will allow this to be the case with anyone going forward now. faria fits the model with his links to mendes and terry, whether you like it or not, it all fits together quite neatly.

i wouldn't say he's letting go specifically an area - it's just who the offer has come in for - bruce didn't choose for it to be de laet.

from the outside it may seem strange allowing de laet to go on loan, but just to put a different spin on it - we currently have 3 right backs in hutton, bree and elmo, so losing the 4th isn't an issue. we have an issue in the middle of defence and there are appears to be at least 3 immediate options available to us, terry, Huth and collins and I can't help wondering why at least one of them isn't already on the books and I don't believe that is down to the manager as why would he not want to?
the dreaded FFP hasn't completely gone away because we have new owners and maybe bruce has been told he has to cut his cloth accordingly - release wages, to re-use on incoming players. it may be an accountancy issue that bringing one of the afore mentioned players in on a short term deal is just cash going out of the business as neither of the players will have an asset value.
if the above theory is close - then why de laet - well maybe because there isn't any concrete interest in anybody else, so in order to get a CB in asap he's taken the first offer for a player that's come in. maybe if mcshortface and richards had walked away we wouldn't need to as that's a hefty wage bill for nothing.
anyway - just a thought, not based on anything my brother heard walking the dog with someone high up at VP who heard from a player having his haircut by the guy of the one show etc etc etc.
