Takeover may be announced on this Tuesday.

gordons grove

1.) 28 Jun 2015 01:37:26
Only one thing to say is that if Tim sherwood which I think is a legend a vp already replaces Guzan for any other keeper I think is a stupid move yeah try and bring in Butland as a keeper to try and take the number 1 shirt but God almighty Guzan is on par with the second best keeper in the prem my thoughts are

1. Pantilimon
2. De gea
2. Brad guzan

{Ed007's Note - Legend gets threw about far too easily these days.}

2.) 28 Jun 2015 09:38:21
I think courtois got to be up there. Still young aswell.

{Ed001's Note - Pantilimon? Really?}

3.) 28 Jun 2015 13:26:27
Pantilimon is not the best keeper in premier. Not a chance. Sorry.

4.) 28 Jun 2015 15:33:47
DeGea
Courtois
Lloris

Guzan about 12th

5.) 28 Jun 2015 16:58:26
Pantillimon ?
Is this a wind up ?
What about Courtoise, Chec, Lloris ?

6.) 30 Jun 2015 12:34:46
Pantillimon hahaha you insane! i am an ex semi pro keeper and the top 5 in the prem is

De Gea
Lloris
Courtois
Forster
Fabianski

A well known villa fan and a former player who used to stand in the holte end have teamed up and got backing from a Chinese equity firm to purchase Aston Villa at 180 million. due diligence to be completed within 6 weeks.

gordons grove

1.) 12 Jun 2015 16:52:02
What a load of horse manure

2.) 12 Jun 2015 18:37:43
You have put that very well Flackie.
I was not going to bother responding to such a load of tosh.

3.) 13 Jun 2015 00:03:53
If your going to make stuff up at least make it sound accurate - Lerner dropped the asking price to 150 million so why would anyone be paying 180 million?

4.) 13 Jun 2015 09:23:37
Not sure about the ex player and fan bit however Aston Villa have reportedly accepted a bid of £200 million from a Chinese source allegedly the chap who was looking to buy Southampton. Wang Jainlin is the guy's name. KPMG are currently carrying out an audit of the accounts presented by Deloittes. Tom Fox has admitted in the Express and Star that the takeover could hamper signings. I cannot disclose what I do for a living however the source is very good indeed.

5.) 13 Jun 2015 09:35:48
Randy told you that himself did he? 150 million my a**e.

6.) 13 Jun 2015 12:33:44
I've already told you all its wang jainlin. The bid is 150 mil though not 200. Will go through within 4 weeks.

7.) 13 Jun 2015 20:19:18
Nope Randy Lerner did not tell me himself but as I'm sure you're aware the club has been up for sale for some time now and there was a lot of info in the media about RL lowering his asking price from 200 million to 150 million. The medias figures should never be taken as gospel but they are in the right ball park more often than not, and it was a wide spread story and not just a couple of lines in the back of the local rag.

8.) 13 Jun 2015 20:52:24
O.K sorry to be rude, but please be patient as I can't name the two villa connected people at this moment. It may be this coming week they go public so not long to wait. I am sure they will reveal what was paid so no need to argue or to rely on made up newspaper articles.

we go again!
lamberts back and so am I.
update on what's been happening so far, Lambert handed in his resignation after the Spurs game, he even said his goodbyes to the players. this was turned down by Faulkner who then travelled together to meet Lerner. Faulkner and Lerner convinced Lambert to stay with some restrictions lifted. he can pick two new coaches and has a bigger summer transfer budget than last year and can bring into the fold the bomb squad. Lambert has promised to improve on the final league position and hopes this will bode well for him if and when a new buyer arrives. expect four quality signings from Europe this summer as Lamberts shopping list has been handed in. don't listen to all the false rumours that we can't afford to pay even our own academy players etc its just that lambert doesn't think they're worth 35000 a week and that also goes for other clubs released players asking upwards of 70,000 a week.
finally there is no offer on the table for a takeover at the moment as the initial buyers have walked, in fact that was before Lerners statement and no one else as of yet has shown any interest.

gordons grove

1.) You tell a good story lol

2.) I take it you were sitting round the table with them then.
This kind of statement is just what gets up most peoples back.
Total fabrication.

3.) Why oh why doesn't Lambert just walk. Nobody wants him, he's useless, can't manage a football team to save his life and has taken Villa right down into the gutter, yet still he remains at Villa Park, what is going on! I am seriously worried for Villa now, I can just see it, no new owner, no money, no quality players, another season fighting relegation I am seriously losing the will to live. Why doesn't he go and manage Celtic, that would be perfect for him, I for one can never understand a word he says anyway, probably a good job really, I would be tearing my hair out no doubt! Somebody buy us please and send Lambert packing!

4.) Because Celtic play a better brand of football than PL can relate too, so maybe Celtic would see it as a step in the wrong direction.

5.) £25,000 a week is probably why he doesn't walk, no seriously according to Grealish he said his goodbyes after the Spurs game. Let's hope if there is no takeover then the promises of financial backing made in the New York meeting are upheld. Those who mock all I can say is remember Darren Bent? Lerner is still richer than most premier league owners and is entitled to do a u-turn.

6.) Well I for one wouldn't want Lerner to do a u-turn. He isn't interested in Villa and I don't think he ever has been really, and that has been proved by his constant absence. He isn't passionate about the club, or football for that matter, he isn't bothered where we are in the Premiership, just as long as we survive then he will be happy because that's all he needs. We will never improve, and never make a challenge for Europe while we are in his hands. I have never known a more unenthusiastic owner in all my life. The restrictions he has placed on the club have been absolutely ridiculous and he constantly leaves us in the dark about what is happening. Find a new owner Randy and take that joke of a manager with you!

7.) The truth of the matter is no one knows what's going on behind the scenes at villa, all we can do is be patient, you say lambert may not be the right man for the job but through this unstable time it's better to have him than no one at all

8.) The technical facts are these; Any large company (which is anything over £50m), have to publicly confirm/deny sale rumours as part of their own sale process. Once posted, expressions of interest are invited. I understand from from former colleagues connected to ML BoA, that FIVE such EOI's have been received and are being evaluated. 3 American, 1 Russian and 1 UAE. This evaluation takes at least two weeks so don't expect anything before June 10th ish. But the reality is thus; a £200m business with £117m income and assets worth £65m. doesn't take a genius to work out that a PL club can make money but only if successful. Catch-22 really. A case of "invest to succeed", something Mr Lerner sadly failed to grasp!

9.) Hope you are right

10.) Villa don't have to publicly deny or confirm anything as they don't have shareholders so to say, also Chelsea was sold in seven days and Fulham in less so I don't know we're you got the two weeks from.

11.) Re'sone major area the club are failing thatsgardless of all the mush we are talking about. us the loyal supporters that have to balance ever more home bills etc while officialson huge salaries (paid by us) barely utter a word to the clubs most valuable asset. the FANS, WE have the right to know all that's going on. to treat the people in this off hand manner is totally unacceptable, iv'e tried to put this point to the club but don't have any response at all it's just not good enough!

12.) Well said. WE are the club

Gianfranco Zola rumour doing the rounds. Lamberts time it looks like is over.

gordons grove

1.) Zola? Step back I think!

2.) Gordon groves is the new KingVilla! Jheez you don't half get some on this site!

3.) We definitely don't want Zola.
It may be wishful thinking but if Lerner sold to a new owner with plenty of money to spend I would love us to try to prise Frank de Boer from Ajax.
He might well fancy it if he knew we had a new owner with ambitions to take the club forward.
Clarrie blue.

4.) Agreed if we get a new owner but what if we don't? Do you prefer Lambert.
Also maybe Zola might be used as a coach or interpreter to the new big name Italian manager being mentioned.

5.) Now now there is only 1 kingvilla.

6.) Who is the big name Italian manager being mentioned?
Clarrie.

7.) PL not yet gone, and not certain of departing.
How long do you think the list will be with applicants for the job?
Any manager without a job at present is being lined up to take the helm at VP.
So many fantasies being expressed and I am just waiting for Tinkerbell to wave her wand and make something come true.
As for Gordons Grove & kingvilla, you should get together. The two of you could have your own site or even become comedy writers.
But good on you both for giving us all something to raise a smile after a long hard season.

8.) Got it wrong Gordon was meant to be Zola as a coach for a new manager that was doing the round!

Rumours elsewhere on net that it's a done deal for Phillip Anschutz taking over at Villa, we are playing his team Houston Dynamo's in July! he owns the AEG Group and his own net worth is 11billion

9.) I have absolutely no idea who's buying what or what's being sold but if nothing happens in the next few weeks then I will have some cheese and onion crisps before bed. Trust me what I dream that night I will reveal on this site. It's a gift I have when it comes to all things Villa.

10.) Gordon I will buy the crisps if you tell me where AVFC will end up next season.
Dont tell anyone else as I want to be first down the bookies with my pension so that I can move to my own island in the middle of the river Rae.

11.) O. K. Old villain the new owner is Phillip Anschutz and due-diligence began on Saturday after the Hull game. Juergen Klinsman was expected to be the new manager but since then a new highly rated youngish manager has been approached and has been promised a record breaking transfer budget. His current team is in pole position for two trophies so you can respect me not naming him. I forgot to mention we are about to become a global franchise, sister clubs worldwide carrying the villa name and colours. The sponsorship deals in the pipeline are up there with the most lucrative in sports and certainly the biggest in football history.

12.) Is any of this actually true or you making it all up for Oldvillans benefit, because if you are you are definitely a very large person.
Clarrie.

13.) Gordon's Grove, are you hinting D Simeone as the next Villa manager? 2 trophies and all?

14.) The takeover should be made public by next week and the manager situation will be clear two weeks after that, giving the new guy a bit of time off to weigh up his options. It is expected he will join as an interpreter/coach has been approached.
One week to go.

15.) It is interesting that we have two stories/options running alongside each other (Ellison and Anschutz). Both relative to very wealthy men with promises of grandeur. The story surrounding Anschutz/Oracle seems the most plausiable I suppose but again nothing concrete to suggest it is more then a story.

The manager GG refers to above must be Simeone as he is the only 'highly rated youngish' manager in European football in with a shout of winning two trophies. Of course I would welcome him to the club, but just couldn't see a man who has (potentially) just won the CL and La Liga leaving to take on a project at Villa (esp considering the Barca, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Monaco jobs could all be available in the Summer)

Im of the mindset now though that Lambert is gone and won't be surprised if he is relieved on Monday morning (alla McLeish) His persona, conferences and attitude all point towards the fact that he seems to have been aware of his fate and that he is only seeing te season out. I like the guy and respect him as a man and the career he has had, but he abandoned all attacking ethos he had at Norwich and has relied too much on Benteke. He was the man I wanted but it hasn't worked out. Thanks a lot Paul and I wish you all the best.

Has anyone heard Jonny Gould and Howard Hodgson podcast about the failed takeover bid. Mind you you all knew this info a few weeks ago when I told you on here, oh yeah if I remember I was mocked and the info I gave was said to be rubbish. Well I guess you can keep believing the stories of Bill Gates and Larry Ellison buying the Villa. For those who believed what I was saying I will update you when any news developes, as of now no takeover is near.

There is NO-ONE in exclusivity! it was rumoured there were 3 bids.
1. HH and Ian Taylor with Chinese backing
2. Very rich mystery US buyer
3. Paul Smith consortium.
Paul Smith lot can only raise half the asking price and plan on putting the rest as loans against the club, so we can rule them out.
The mystery US bidder I think is a con by Lerner and Fox to get the real bid get a move on. The reason no one knows who they are is because maybe they don't exist.
That leaves HH and the China Equity Group, this bid has hit a major stumbling block with the Chinese government red tape. its looking like another season with Lerner in charge.

Wang Jianlin is not the only Chinese person interested in purchasing a football club, our Chinese backers have nothing to do with him.

Just to add the takeover should be completed early July. The only thing I'm not sure of is if the Chinese group are going to be hands on or just sit back as silent investors as I'm not privy to that info.
The rumour I've heard is that when they were approached 6 months ago it was to be only as investors but they've since changed and decided it's more beneficial to grow Aston Villa as a brand in Asia.

AVFCAgent you called the Borini and Walker rumour 2 days before anyone else, so credit for that.
crokey 1991 I posted the new owners were Howard Hodgson and Ian Taylor backed by China Equity Group (worth 7 billion) ten days ago!

I could of confused the parting gift as covering the overdraft, the Chinese equity group are worth 7 billion. And KCP are definitely involved. I didn't mention Hodgsons name last week (instead used clues i.e well known fan) as a NDA was signed but you've lifted the lid. The thing is when I mentioned it I was mocked last week, hopefully they will believe you.
