It's finally got to the point that the majority of fans now want change, this message has surely got to the good doctor, he is the only one that can make the ultimate decision, so please Tony understand we have had enough, you have backed the manager both with words and money. It clearly has not worked and doesn't look like it ever will. Cut your losses and make the right decision and act now whilst their is still time, sit on your hands and you will start to loose your credibility. Thank Steve for his efforts no one deliberately chooses to fail, however we are in a results industry and results are ultimately how managers are judged, he has failed to deliver what you and the fans expected, things are deteriorating rapidly, you must act now, you will probably help Steve as well and like us put him out of his misery.
One comment made by a fellow a Villa inadvertently summed up our success under Bruce he said " at least we will finish above the Blues" certainly true, even Steve wouldn't have the nerve to put this on his CV.

1.) 27 Dec 2017 16:27:08
Give him the Middlesbrough game, away game against a team above us, only thing missing is it being on tele for it to be everything we fail with. One last roll of the dice, show us something.

2.) 27 Dec 2017 16:58:41
ChrisAVFC your loyalty is honourable, however I feel if he fails as you mention against Middlesboro you like others will want to give him one final chance. He has had enough time and chances, now is the time for change, no more chances. We are one of the poorest sides to watch nothing is improving, in fact it is getting worse. Other clubs have recently acted decisively we must do the same and it needs doing now. Doctor T needs to hear this clearly and act now, no more second (third, fourth, fifth. ) chances.

23 Dec 2017 13:39:54
It's really interesting reading the recent comments regarding Bruce's future, those of us that were questioning his ability were in the main criticised, I for one have been consistent in my view that we are going nowhere under him. People on here are now saying get rid if we don't go up. This side is not good enough to go up, now is the time for change not in may after it is too late.

1.) 23 Dec 2017 14:43:51
Not posted for an age, until there is a snif of saying I told you so.
Read the post again, it clearly starts with a hypothetical situation, and an ‘if’ in the subject line.

2.) 23 Dec 2017 19:31:46
Have told you so consistently not just when there is a snif, constant mediocrity will amount to mid table and current form clearly demonstrates this.

3.) 23 Dec 2017 20:47:20
Yawn yawn yawn.

4.) 23 Dec 2017 22:01:07
Can we have some names of people who said keep Bruce now saying getting? Or are you just making it up?

5.) 23 Dec 2017 22:09:35
My sentiments exactly listening to blind faith.

6.) 23 Dec 2017 23:58:08
Blind faith or infinite pessimism?

I wonder which I prefer?

7.) 24 Dec 2017 12:00:13
Realism not pessimism, when facts finally play out we will see who is right, know where my money us.

8.) 24 Dec 2017 14:53:58
Bet you can’t wait to say. ‘I told you so! . ’

Bet that half empty glass is nearly spilling out that glass with all this nervous tension.

9.) 25 Dec 2017 00:58:49
You know contrary to what you may think i would love to be wrong and will take not one jot of satisfaction to be proved right but just look at what is being served up, this current team and manager will not give us what we deserve and think deep down most of us know this. You are a positive and loyal fan just like I was, it's all been knocked out of me, believe me it's because I cared too much in the past that has made me so cynical.

12 Aug 2017 23:06:30
Last season there were a few of us who saw how poor we were over the last ten games and without spite or malice felt Bruce was not going to take us anywhere. The football was turgid and lacked any semblance of creativity. Nothing was ever going to change. The realists were pilloried for lack of loyality and our football knowledge was questioned. Everything we said was accurate, I have read all of the regular contributors comments after the game and lo and behold, they now agree that Bruce is taking us nowhere. Dr T now is the time to act before we are again the laughing stock we have been for the last six years.

hopeful

1.) 12 Aug 2017 23:29:40
I preferred you when you was a fake in the know telling us how we was going to sign this player and that player and it never coming true. It's easy to say "I told you so" six months later but no one will remember you saying so in the first place.

2.) 13 Aug 2017 18:03:01
And low and behold someone else who can now say we are crap because they always said we were!

In perspective, we have lost 1 game.

Hopeful? Hopeless.

3.) 14 Aug 2017 13:47:07
Exactly that flackie onedraw and one loss and the moaners come out in droves. okay didn, t expect us to cave in like we did but the bruce and the players will turn it around. Thing is don, t panic.!

06 May 2017 08:51:28
Every year at this time of the year fans reflect on the past season and look forward with optimism to the next season. We long suffering villa fans have done this over the last five years only to be disappointed. We have investment loyal fans what we don't have is a manager who wants to give us quality football but has a strategy to maintain his credibility as a football man.

Please guys don't back a man who is only focused on his own credibility we deserve better. The last four months have been turgid and is not likely to improve. The signings have been poor and will not get us challenging for honours. I really don't have a solution or a magic wand, wish I had, but what we have is going no where no matter what rose tinted glasses you wear.

So please guys don't sit back and hope good times are ahead because it ain't going to happen. Want far more and expect far more or our club is going to end up like Wigan, Blackburn and blues.

hopeful

1.) 06 May 2017 10:42:07
You make a point but then have no explanation or evidence following it. If you called Bruce useless, a dinasaur, clueless then you probably have a selection of games where we've been awful in the final third and abject of ideas and play hoof ball. However only focused on his own credibility? How? What planet are you on? Where do you get this stuff from?

2.) 06 May 2017 17:05:04
Hopeful really? Look mate I understand your anger some games this season we have been simply awful and Bruce hadn't hid from that but I still think his watching players seeing who he can trust. I am not a massive fan at all his football is awful but because of his record we have to give him time his record says he knows what his doing.

I don't think Bruce is great but his not selfish or concerned with his own record as you put it his a top bloke trying his best his honest I just think his not our type of manager that we are used to seeing. Kodjia getting injured as put a huge dent on our promotion hopes but as a team we should be setting up an scoring more goals. Grelish and many others have got to be scoring and playing better its about desire! My outcome give him a pre season and let's at least let him have ago to turn it around if it fails go for wagner.

3.) 07 May 2017 00:12:28
I agree wtw, but we the way we play at the minute stifles players like hogan, Hourihane and Grealish from stepping up, we are in our own half majority of the time with 11 behind the ball. Defensive football when we have one of the best attacking squads in the league.

17 Apr 2017 16:37:18
No doubt Bruce will be apologising yet again for another inept lacklustre performance, Poor performances lucky wins poor performance usual defeat, come on you optimists don't keep accepting mediocrity, voice your concerns or nothing will change.

hopeful

1.) 17 Apr 2017 17:18:13
Sometimes Bruce's team selections baffle me

What was Amavi doing on the pitch, he was Readings 12th man on Saturday gifting them free balls and yet he keeps his place today

What about GREEN, where was he?

I'm so glad they're not going up with this squad s a skeleton to rebuild on, we would get slaughtered v& bounced straight back down again

With Bruce's teams and selections, how the hell has he managed to gain promotion on 4 previous occasions?

2.) 17 Apr 2017 17:33:59
To be honest from what I've seen of Championship football even the auto promoted teams will struggle next season and I include Newcastle (if they go up) .

3.) 17 Apr 2017 18:40:24
Nothing like a few defeats to bring out the most fickle of villa fans. Greens injured for one and we played the game for 70 minutes with 10 men, and for 60 of them we was no more than 1-0 down, one of them from a free kick for a foul that anyone on the planet sees isn't a foul.

Bruce rolled the dice and brought on an attacker to try an get something at 2-1 in the 75th minute, it backfired and they scored another. Had he not rolled the dice you same people talking absolute nonsense here would be still talking nonsense about how he didn't make subs and wouldn't risk it.

With 10 men the tactics are simple, sit behind the ball, be organised and break when you can - we did, and we did well for 50 minutes, got ourselves back in to it, went back 1 down from a poor decision from the ref.

If your going to moan don't do it for the sake of it, have a bit of substance and evidence behind what your saying.

4.) 17 Apr 2017 21:13:26
It would been a differnt match 11 v 11 ref had a shocker today. We need 3 class players its not about this season its about next season for us. I think next season we will go up in the playoffs with the right 3 signings.

5.) 17 Apr 2017 22:26:01
Couldn't agree more walk the walk.

6.) 18 Apr 2017 20:34:48
Walk the walk and chris I totally agree with both of you just needs more fans to take the blinkers off.

7.) 19 Apr 2017 19:08:17
Hear, hear chris. Let the bemoaners moan mate. They don't know anything else, they certainly don't know foot ball or how to get behind there team.

I took my twin grandsons down today as a birthday treat, cost me a small fortune, they have both asked for a visit to the dentist for their next birthday, apparently would be more fun and less painful.

hopeful

1.) 06 Jan 2018 21:07:07
Small fortune? Kids tickets were a fiver?

2.) 06 Jan 2018 21:21:07
So for a fiver you get train fares, lunch programmes, villa tracksuits and hot dogs on the way out, silly me didn't see the fiver offer that included all of this.

3.) 06 Jan 2018 21:58:28
Spot on hopeful I love it.
Been there myself mate.

4.) 06 Jan 2018 21:57:54
It's an expensive game when taking the kids mate tell them to keep the faith and explain in football there many ups and downs.

5.) 07 Jan 2018 09:41:24
Take sandwiches, didn’t have to buy them a program or a tracksuit. You wrote it like the club made it expensive, should of cost you max a tenner for ticket an train for each. Give them one of your old scarfs and some sandwiches an there you go, happy days.

6.) 07 Jan 2018 10:19:18
You are right Hopeful, I feel for you mate. It's an expensive day when you take the kids, and you just want it to be a special day so disappointing when we play like we did. Who wants to take sandwiches and an old scarf! Some people think they are God on this site and that they know better than everyone else. Well they don't!

7.) 07 Jan 2018 13:57:52
Sorry for trying to point out how to get an affordable day at the football Danny, you just keep spending a fortune an then moaning about it after, seems clever to me.

8.) 07 Jan 2018 19:43:03
Chris, I'm not spending any money and I not moaning either, just understanding what Hopeful was saying and agreeing with him. What's wrong with that, it seems as though you always seem to have to have the last word on everything, it's as if your word is bond on here and everybody else's views don't mean anything. It's a 'banter' site mate, people chatting and sharing views, lighten up a bit, stop being so serious, it's starting to become boring and predictable. oh here's another negative comment from ChrisAVFC. again. same old same old.

9.) 07 Jan 2018 22:33:32
Lighten up a bit? You need to take a leaf out your own book and stop crying about “people think their god on here” just because I said you can take an old scarf and sandwiches to football😂.

27 Dec 2017 17:31:00
I would love to think that Dr T has read the posts on this site since the start of the season. He would have read extremist views like mine, whilst consistent would probably be in the minority. He would have read the balanced and positive comments of ChrisAVFC and Flackie and many others who would have agreed that managers should be given time. If he reads all of today's posts he will see that these optimistic contributers have lost patience and hope for change sooner rather than later. Tony if you read this realise that now is the time for change, most of your loyal following are telling you so.

hopeful

1.) 27 Dec 2017 20:01:38
Give him Middlesbrough, win or bust.

2.) 27 Dec 2017 20:15:50
Decisive enough for me agreed.

16 Dec 2017 19:22:52
In Bruce we trust is a mantra from the misguided loyals, until we all realise that he is not going to take us any further we are going nowhere.

hopeful

1.) 16 Dec 2017 20:42:04
3 losses in 19 suggests otherwise, in the overall picture today’s loss isn’t that bad, in isolation the result today is awful, look at the stats, more possession by a huge margin, more shots on goal but we lose 2-0, the system doesn’t work against good teams, we don’t have a plan b and some players aren’t that good. The sooner we see Jedinak taking Whelan’s place we will stand a chance against the better teams, Onomah has had 2 good games from what I can remember yet he starts every week. Bruce messed up today, and with 2 points from 9 in the last 3, just when we’re starting to play decent teams it looks like we’ve been found out as bottom feeders, however we are 6th with what must be the worst injury record in the league, not just length of time and amount of injuries but the significance of the players getting injured, so give the boss credit for that, he’s been promoted enough times to see something needs to change against these better teams so don’t jump the gun, let him do his job.

2.) 16 Dec 2017 21:41:59
Taxi for josh 1 good game about 8 games where he looks lost and goes missing and he is idle if we send him back wonder if we can have half our loan fee back.

3.) 17 Dec 2017 00:13:56
Chris, I agree with what you say, how many of the top six could of coped with the injury list we of had . I think Brucie missed the fact that after 20 mins, his plan a wasent working . i can understand his reluctance, to put Hogan or Flabby in, but if that's all you've got . Our bench today was a strange on, Hutton injured, Thor not getting any game time and Hogan &Flabby coming back from injury . When are some of the kids getting a chance? Today would of been ideal time for a couple of them on the bench, at least they are fit . I agree that we are still in a good position and Brucie with a couple of good signing will get us back on track . Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

4.) 17 Dec 2017 08:19:04
Your right Dave, with a fully fit side I honestly think we’d be finishing second, because our first 11 and bench would give us so many options. However I don’t think we’ve had or will have a fully fit side at any point this season. I think now Bruce is only playing Onomah so spurs see his getting games and don’t recall him in January because he’s seen as the only cover we have that number 10. I’m not 100% on FFP but if wolves have spent the amount they have an they was in league 1 two years ago then I’m guessing punishments don’t come until the following season so if it was up to me I’d go for it, get a striker on loan even if we have to pay the bulk of the wages and a loan fee, someone like Ulloa who will score goals regular because we’ve got to sixth without a regular goal scoring striker! Then I’d get a midfielder, Lansbury is always injured, Jedinak can’t seem to get fit and Onomah is crap. We recruit well in January and we can get play offs, but we need to act fast, no good getting them on deadline day, we need them ASAP.

5.) 17 Dec 2017 08:50:05
Josh needs to be dropped or better still return to spurs if possible,
Not seen many standout games he has played well in,
Grealish was best on the pitch a country mile,
See we are now linked to Walters from Burnley?
Another pensioner to get in side!
Let's hope just paper talk,

21 Nov 2017 21:41:16
Wow what a close game apart from a lucky deflection nothing to choose between the two teams, just shows how far we have come with Bruce.

hopeful

1.) 21 Nov 2017 21:52:24
So was that a dig about Brucie?

2.) 21 Nov 2017 22:02:12
Sounds very much like it to me ken.

3.) 21 Nov 2017 22:08:15
What a clown. So good to have the positive poster again!

4.) 21 Nov 2017 22:13:54
I was wondering because

Maybe he meant we’re hard to beat! But then again he was probably being cynical

I’m not the biggest Bruce fan but I support the club

Surely it’s about winning no matter how we play?

We win and still people moan . Jesus give your head a wobble

Sunderland have injuries galore but also have a new manager so it was always going to be a hard game.

5.) 21 Nov 2017 23:32:24
Other than the deflected effort not much between the two teams? Did we win one nil, must have dreamt Alberta goal my bad.

6.) 22 Nov 2017 08:50:46
Whatever performance we gave the most important thing is we won and another 3 points in the bag,
Yes we passed the ball very poorly and the tempo was missing but hoping we are at full pelt for Ipswich,
Up the villa!

15 Oct 2017 16:55:09
Forget all about agents, cheating and sour grapes. We have been comprehensively beat by the top two clubs. Cardiff were shown to be average by Small Heath. Too many die hard fans are too quick to defend poor lacklustre coaching and inept footballers. Football is supposed to be an entertainment industry, the Wolves fans were certainly entertained yesterday. I would love to be entertained at VP sadly this will never happen under Bruce.

hopeful

1.) 15 Oct 2017 19:16:22
I think everyone on here has said that we were second best yesterday and they gave up second half, some posters were just pointing out the obvious flaws in the system at wolves to do with FFP. No one has defended our performance from yesterday.

2.) 16 Oct 2017 05:34:30
So what are you saying sack Bruce? When do the players take the blame? why is it always the manager I don't like Bruce but apart from Hutton not 1 of them players 2nd half gave a dam. Its there job they should at least run there socks off close teams down and battle doesn't matter what talent you have hardwork will always win and if you are not 100 per cent at your best the least you can do is put the effort in. What a funny game it would be if players were sacked for performances?

WTW Plenty of fond memories of Derby day, however one memory that is still vivid and painful and I hope is never to be repeated, we were 2 0 up and absolutely cruising Jaun Paublo had a simple tap in to make it 3 0 in front of the holte, sadly he fluffed it. The next 15 mins were a horror show how they came back I will never know, what made this stick in mine and I'm sure many others throats was the injury time equiliser, I was level with their fans in the trinity you would have thought they had just won the league, would love to stick 6 up em to exorsise the memory, I am sitting in the same area as that day.

Mainbob, sadly I don't think change will immediately be forthcoming, I can see our season following similar patterns in terms of lack of quality and ideas similar to the last five years. The consequence, we will drop down the league. We don't appear to have any choice other than grin and bare it or give up, something that is not in Villa fans culture, so grin and bare it it is, happy days!
