for weeks I've been saying this and most time i get moaned at but why is it we have one decent set piece taker (constantly on bench conor h) we have one decent striker (injured for god knows how long) and no midfielder who can create or shoot at goal?

said from moment we went of lansbury its a crap buy and he is going to drag the midfield down more than it already was and so far point proven,

its a must that in the next few weeks we go and either buy (if FFP allows us to) or loan a striker who can actually hit a shot and head the ball, damn if need be a player like crotch will do. and a player who will run at defenders and shoot from midfield (just not sure who fits that bill)

Lol player like crotch!

2.) 12 Aug 2017 22:20:24
Mate it's easy to say "said this from the start" "said this when we" but without evidence you talking rubbish, step down from the high horse. Makes you sound a tool.

3.) 18 Aug 2017 07:01:45
Actually Crouch would be an intelligent signing. Good with both head and feet and brings other players into the game.

2.) 12 Oct 2016 20:37:07

3.) 12 Oct 2016 21:33:31
Ha ha ha. "shut the front door"
Made me laugh out loud Flackie.

4.) 12 Oct 2016 21:51:05

as much as i wanted the man to do well and still hope he can i can't help but wonder. why does garde still have a job? i think its clear to see the man is not right for the team at this moment in time, sack him off and get someone like moyes in for at least the rest of the season if need be. pearson was my call to 4 games ago but he is not the man we need now.

i have only seen the highlights of the game today but jan can't come quick enough. guzan (have back him all the way but can't do it anymore), richardson and westwood are the first players we need replacing, how do we battle like that last game then play this way today?

and clark? absolute belter for ireland but for us shocking.

strikes

18 Oct 2015 21:12:31
we was very unlucky to lose yesterday, but the fact is we wtill lost.

for 45 minutes we was the better team and should have been 2 up by half time from what I've seen of highlights, but all that being said i think i feel the same as most when i say tims got to go.

if moyes really has come out and said he wants the job and that's not just paper talk i think we need to get on the next flight over there and get his name on the dotted line.

but something needs to change before its just too much for any manager to fix.

strikes

1.) 19 Oct 2015 09:48:10
unlucky or not he has to go before its too late, guzan is a clown always putting defence under pressure westwood has no idea what to do with the ball sideways or backwards hutton is hit n miss you never know which one will turn up, why he hasn't given kozak a chance is beyond me and if randy still insisting on selling and wants top dollar he best have a word in TS shell like and tell him buck up or pack up simples!

2.) 19 Oct 2015 21:12:30
no arguments here. as you say the man has to go.

personally this should have been his last chance if not the liverpool game, two teams struggling at the moment bottom end of league they was both there for the taking.

3.) 20 Oct 2015 12:08:27
I admit that I was swept up by the initial TS feel good factor last season. I have just more than a sneaking suspicion that he is losing/ lost the dressing room and does not know what to do to get us out of the mess we are in. I am certain he will go after the Swansea game. Being linked with a manger such a David Moyes is too good to pass on. He has a proven track record, with 13 years experience in top flight, and far less risky than TS, even if he comes in and stabilizes the situation to get us up to a solid 14th /15th by new year would be a huge u- turn in fortune. If Lerner leaves it any longer we will be bottom of the table by Christmas with about 13 points in the bag if we are lucky. so a dead certainty to be relegated this time.

4.) 20 Oct 2015 20:31:01
I think we all were and tbh i'm a bit disappointed we never picked up from where we left off, I know we had about 12 new players but so did a few others and they seemed to start well albeit having a faltering moment lately. I had real high hopes during the close season but thinking about it, all them losses we had was the writing on the wall then? and for TS to keep bleetin on about having the spine ripped out of villa, delph n benteke hardly the spine tbh and cleverly just used us as a stepping stone even PL and AM had a better start to there season than we are having now I can't for the love of god understand what the hell has gone wrong being so angry is an understatement the mrs has even threatened to hit me with the rollin pin if I thump the laptop one more time and as for these stupid mail interviews oh the dressing room is buzzin we going do it this week were full of confidence geeze stfu and do your talkin on the pitch get us back up the table were we belong show some pride! and before anyone says calm down ill give meself a heart attack it already happened lol back in may the sunday after the fa cup geeze Rant Over VTID!

5.) 20 Oct 2015 22:05:57
Hi Ged
Sorry to hear about your heart attack, strange that, it happened to me as well, I was in hospital for the semi against Liverpool, couldn`t watch the game mate.
I try not to get worked up now it`s not worth it, dam hard though.

6.) 21 Oct 2015 06:17:14
hi dave
yes mate the day after we was trounced by arsenal doctors at Coventry hosp took the p*** out me lol still waiting to have another stent put in hope you are well mate YES supporting my beloved villa seems to be very frustrating and annoying of late was realy realy hoping we would be up there with all the promises TS made how we will never struggle or fight relegation again oh well roll on the weekend onwards and upwards!

7.) 21 Oct 2015 14:19:30
Yeh I am getting there Ged, can`t` stent me because narrowing is on what they call branches, so its medication for me mate.
I fancy us to do Swansea this week to be honest, and thought we were ok against Chelsea first half, I would stick with the same side this week except for Guzan the error man.

just out of interest. does sacking managers and releasing players effect our FFP rules?

i know its more a theoretical question but if not i really hope we ditch least 3 or 4 players and free up some wages at least.

strikes

1.) 28 Dec 2017 10:33:31
To release a player/ manager you have to pay up their contract or at least agree a settlement. If their contract is due to run past the end of the season then you'd probably be spending more than just paying their wages.

2.) 28 Dec 2017 11:31:22
Strikes the way I was told You have a budget if you go over that your in trouble this can be by spending money on players wages or managers it will all come out that budget. Take next season, gabby won't be here so that's 50k saved out the budget, Jt who's only signed a 1 year deal so far his 70k a week will also be saved, but don't worry about Bruce if we wanted to sack him it would cost us hardly anything as its a rolling contract which means its a month to month deal.

I was told this at a meeting with Wyness when we 1st had Bruce, 1 of the deal breakers was whatever manager we had, he signed a rolling deal its a club policy.

There will be limited funds if high earners leave if you remember when JT signed for us an turned Blues down Harry said I can get 2 or 3 players for the wages JT wants even tho there was no fee wages come out your budget.

You would be surprised the wage bill at Villa Park mate Wyness has said that some players eg Gabby an Richards are on big bucks still as they didn't have relegation clauses this was a mistake by the Lerner and co. Hope this makes sense. UTV keep the faith!

3.) 28 Dec 2017 12:31:26
yeah its players like richards i was wondering about. never makes bench half the time and surely he's not injured that much so why even keep him.

4.) 28 Dec 2017 20:45:44
He is contracted nobody wants him and we don't play him and he don't want to go so only 1 who wins is richards.

26 Dec 2017 13:33:28
i know i'm going to get laughed at for this but i honestly don't think we was as bad as people are making out vs utd. 2 silly mistakes and yes they scored,

and if we had a decent striker in the starting lineup we could have won the game no problem, i seem to remember being on my feet more hoping for a goal than i was panicking they was going to score.

im struggling to google the answer but how easy is it to get from Birmingham city centre on a match day and back up again?

im taking kids to the game saturday and don't fancy trying to get 4 kids to walk all that way.

Strikes, how about, train from News st to Witton . You might get a family ticket, not Sue I think you can get a bus and train one . Worth enquiring . Best of luck.

2.) 20 Dec 2017 22:20:37
ideally want cheapest and easiest, does anyone recommend the car parks that are near the ground?

{Ed007's Note - I don't know if this helps mate but I found this, £6 doesn't sound bad to me for parking:

www.keaston.bham.sch.uk/parents/aston-villa-match-day-secure-site-parking/

3.) 22 Dec 2017 01:05:16
Strikes we park on the King Edward school, back of the park . Its run by the parents £5, very safe . We have parked there for about 6 years now, we have the season pass. , between 5of us it works out cheap . Best of luck.

15 Dec 2017 08:57:18
my wife has just told me i need to get a life. got bored yesterday and spent a good hour going through all the premiership teams and looking to see which players are getting no game time this season and wondering who we could get in on loan or buy in January,

i think she may have a point.

strikes

1.) 15 Dec 2017 18:09:05
More important is what names you came up with as possibly available.
Next you can tell her your studying the geography of the world while looking for someone who can score. This way she will think (know it's dangerous but), about a special holiday.
Hope this helps. I tried it and am allowed back in the house at lighting up time?
This is 2 hours earlier than usual!

2.) 15 Dec 2017 21:44:37
not saying they will happen but and most them are good enough to stay in prem but stranger things have happened (knowing my luck half are injured) .

ARS-holding, wilshere, coquelin, niles, walcott

BRI-mings, afobe.

CHE-drinkwater, batshuayi,

EVE- holgate, mirallas, besic, lookman

LEI-king, james, iheanacho, slimani, ulloa

LIV-grujic, solanke, ings

M CITY-mangala,

M UTD-shaw,

SOUTH-hojbjerg, long,

STOKE-afellay, bojan, adams, berahino,

SWANS-bartley, rangel, dyer, britton, narsingh, routledge,

SPURS-walker peters, lamela,

WATF-watson,

knowing my luck I've wrote 40 names there and 30 of them are crook or already out on loan somewhere.

3.) 15 Dec 2017 22:12:15
Mate there are some really good shouts on there, but we no chance of getting batshuayi, Shaw, Mangala, Ihenachio or Slimani.

4.) 15 Dec 2017 22:21:04
Are you suggesting that we should be ars-holding.
Not sure this would be a good thing.

5.) 16 Dec 2017 05:27:40
From that list Afobe, Shaw, Adam and Long, wish all of them but Christmas is a time for miracles

UTV.

{Ed001's Note - Walcott is injured, Mings has a long term back problem that keeps afflicting him, Drinkwater was struggling with injury and only just getting fit now, Holgate is first choice for Allardyce, James is injured, Grujic is injured and has a work permit that requires him to play first team football for Liverpool when fit, Ings is still returning to fitness from an ACL injury, Mangala is unlikely to go anywhere with Stones and Kompany being injury prone, Long lost his place due to injury though he is back fit now, Afellay is injured a lot, Bojan is on loan, I assume you mean Adam rather than Adams he is available, Lamela has been out injured for over a year and just returned to fitness. That is just off the top of my head so I could have missed a few injuries or loans.}

6.) 16 Dec 2017 09:30:42
Afobe or Ulloa would do.

7.) 16 Dec 2017 11:24:33
Ulloa is my choice for the loan striker.

8.) 16 Dec 2017 12:39:07
as i say i was just going by the game time they have had. i know a few have been injured and have come back but then when you look at what's in team ahead of them they will struggle to get back in team,

hopefully we get a few good players in even if it is just a loan.

{Ed001's Note - I wasn't having a dig mate, just trying to narrow it down a bit for you.}

9.) 16 Dec 2017 13:49:28
no that's fine, i knew what you was saying and by adams i meant charlie adam.

{Ed001's Note - I thought you must do, but there could have been an Adams there so I was just making sure. I didn't know of one, but you never know.}

16 Aug 2017 11:21:46
i know people are going to act like i'm a fool for asking this but why is everyone so desperate for sherwood back? as far as i remember he was the manager in charge when we got relegated and he hardly had a great win record. other than the fa cup run all i remember is the amount of abuse the bloke got for being "tactless tim"

now i understand that he had a shocking team at the time but i still don't see the thinking behind it.

strikes

1.) 16 Aug 2017 11:34:24
I totally agree. We need a progressive manager, someone with a bit of vision.

2.) 16 Aug 2017 12:02:30
Just a thought - Nigel Pearson?

3.) 16 Aug 2017 14:53:59
On the face of it tactically he was clueless, so long term we would end up in the same position. However he wasn't too proud to change things and give different things ago, he always went for it and set us up to be on the front foot and he is most likely to hit the ground running same as last time. If we were to sack Bruce and there wasn't a manager at the time who jumps out as the proper candidate then I'd get sherwood on a 3 month rolling contract whilst we source a full time man. His passion, energy and commitment would get results from the offset, it's when all those things become the norm to the players and he has to rely on tactics an such that's when he begins to fail.

4.) 16 Aug 2017 15:08:49
Gary monk would of done well had we gone for him.

easy answer is go to sam see what he wants to do and if he really only wants to play for villa then he tells utd. they can't make him sign for another team and even if they accept a bid off west brom or whoever he can just say no to contract,

personally i think its all rubbish and just talk to force our hand into a bid.
