Not really a rumour as such but have been looking at the odds for some players to sign for Villa.

Villa are 2nd favourite to sign James Milner behind Liverpool at 5/2

Villa are 2nd favs to sign victor Moses

Villa are favs to sign Scott Sinclair

Villa are odds on fav (8/13) to sign bendnter.

Just wanted to know what peoples thoughts were on those players.

Just seen the fixture list for next season:

Premier League
Liverpool v Aston Villa Sat 13 Sep
Aston Villa v Arsenal Sat 20 Sep
Chelsea v Aston Villa Sat 27 Sep
Aston Villa v Man City Sat 4 Oct

That is going to be a painful month of watching.

Knowing the Villa they'll probably do ok against this lot and fail to beat the struggling teams at the bottom of the table.

If the Blues lose on Saturday hopefully the Villa fans will be geared up to get behind there team more than ever. You might say that you want Blues to atay up but we all know every Villa fan detestes them and wants them to go down, the more pain for them the funnier it gets for us, that's how I see it. Also, the players might want to make the fans have double joy and produce a good performance when it is needed most. Hull are always a tough team to face but can be beaten with the right tactics. Robinson from the start for me.

I just read a report online that states that Crystal Palace managed to get hold of a leaked team list, including new formation for their game against us. It backs up the complaints that Cardiff are making about them. Could they be docked points? Or is it all nonsense? They have just won their 5th game on the bounce which is impressive for them?!

sack paul lambert as this is poor even by a new business stall standards. if produce is failing/revenue dropping, stock deteriorating & your spot constantly up for grabs with so many disgruntled customer then change is a must!

or keep him and back him if he can obtain his only decent quality links in this window--slavchev, zaha, defoe, defour, lescott on loan.

i'd much prefer if hoddle is given the reigns or at least brought in to help this would keep the ideology of youth alive but with much needed knowhow guile experience work with youth and talent at all levels,

hoddle alone would attract/convince the right players in this world cup year to join and be part of a more realistic project both youth & experience. randy would need to invest to reignite the euphoria that was once common place as an villa fan win loose or draw but played with passion creativity excitement.
the ambience of villa park was once overwhelming

(1)

If you actually follow villa you would know that lerner won't sack a manager half way in a season we all can dream but lambert is here to stay

Heyy ed what are the chances of Vargas coming to the villa? {Ed001's Note - very little.}

(4)
(9)

30 Jun 2011 10:56:12
ed, Rangers 'til I die here, big rumours that eck is holding on to Cuellar, we could really re-launch the big guy's career @ Rangers, and he has previous experience of our club. Do you believe that there could be a way back to Ibrox for him ? Right back @ Villa is not his biggest strength, and Eck should F*****G know better, good luck this coming season VILLA. Rangers 'til I die {Ed001's Note - the likelihood is that Collins and Dunne will be leaving, so Cuellar might be needed in the centre.}

20 Jun 2011 22:41:11
HI ED is there any Truth in Villa making Moves For
Honda, Shaqiri as replacement/s for ash
And Adam and Nolan {Ed001's Note - I have not heard of any Villa moves for anyone other than a held over attempt to sign Charlie Adam, but he wants to go to Liverpool. Nolan has already signed for West Ham, nobody else made any kind of move for him at all.}

(4)
(7)

02 Jun 2011 19:11:53
Ed is it true we have put a bid in for Dabo from Sevilla? Good strong cenre back imo {Ed001's Note - from what I can find out Villa have made no bids for anyone and won't be until the new management structure is in place.}

(5)
(4)

02 Jun 2011 14:10:04
I want to see Adam Johnson replace Young or Downing, Ed do you see this happening? And is there a chance that Milner could return? {Ed001's Note - nope and no, sorry but I don't see a chance of either of those ending up at Villa when there are Champions League teams interested if they were going to force their way out of City.}

Against stoke I would play :
Guzan
Lowton Vlaar Okore Senderos Cissokho
Westwood Delph
N'Zogbia
Agbonlahor Bent

Subs: Given Weimann Grealish Gardner El Ahmadi Richardson Clark

We would be able to handle there aerial threat from corners and can use the counter attack to our advantage against them.

For what it's worth, this is what I would probably go with for this season. About time we accepted 4-3-3 does not work as we get totally overrun
Midfield is key, so flood it
Benteke can play up on his own, no problem
I'd ask Delph to make more forward runs
Grealish might not start every game but I would certainly give him the last 1/2 hour at least.

My starting 11 for stoke,
its a 3-5-1-1
gk guzan
rcb okore, cb vlaar, lcb clark
cdm Westwood, rcm gardener, lcm delph
rwb bacuna, lwb richardson
cam/number 10 nzogbia,
striker weiman.

subs/possible game changers grealish for nzogbia, bent/gabby/robinson for weiman

i know ill get some stick for having Clark in the team but I just can't stand senderos, looked average for arsenal and scraped by at Fulham before being shipped off, and my old school mate baker who some how got scouted for one good game of football will never be good enough for my beloved villa i'm afraid
Shawtvilla.

My lineup for Stoke
Guzan
Vlarr senderos okore
bacuna Cole Delph richidson
Gabby bent nzogbia

starting in a 343 formation which could change to 541 at times without ball bacuna and richidson could drop back into defence as could gabby and nzogbia into midfield if we under the cosh but start positive. That's how I'd go but hey I'm not in charge.

well think we played some good stuff sat should have been 3 up at half time shouldn't have moved baker to left back in my opinion he was doing well against lukaku but I think there needs to be a few changes for sat my team would be

guzan
lowton vlaar baker luna
bacuna sylla delph
weimenn benteke gabby

and tell wiemann and gabby its last chance stuff for them because they are not up to standard at minute

let me no wht u think at what your team would be

Well i'm back! Just wanted people's thoughts on villas form at the mo. I think we are well set up when away from home and can counter but feel at home we either need to switch to a normal 442 and get balls in from wide for benteke and kozak to attack and stretch teams and have a thret that way

Guzan
Lowton vlarr baker luna
Bacuna syla delph tonev
Benteke kozak

Or could use gabby wide left or albrighton wide right.
I would give bacuna delph and tonev the freedom to bomb on hence syla in there to sit and be the bit of steel.

Or I would go with a 442 diamond

Guzan
Lowton vlarr baker luna
Clark
Bacuna delph
Tonev
Benteke gabby

I feel tonev bacuna and delph would put enough service in for gabby pace and the goal pocher machine benteke. i'd tell lowton and luna to play more like wing backs bombing on for the width with clark playing in the sitting midfielder roll as if lose possession and open to a quick counter he could drop back in to form a back 3 untill the wide player's can get back in. I just feel at the min we need a bit more at home and pl tactics don't make the best of what we have. Your thoughts please.

So that's It! the transfer deadline has now passed so up until January we've got what we've got. Personally I think we are short of a couple of positions squad-wise, but content with the acquisitions we have made.

With no rumours on the horizon i'd like to suggest predictions on the starting 11 for newcastle. i'd go with the following:

Guzan
RB Lowton CB Okore CB Vlaar LB Luna

CM Delph CM Westwood CM Sylla

AM Helenius

ST BenTekkers ST Kojak

Rumours abound about Maxi Lestienne for £14m. I can't say I believe it as he is a really top player but if we really are going to spend in that ballpark then

Kouyate - £6m &
A Propa (not proper) playmaker in the £8m - £10m would be a better investment

Omar Abdulrahman
Wijnaldum
Siem De Jong
Eriksen
Kovacic
Vihena
Feghouli

Are all in that price range

THE PERFECT ASTON VILLA TEAM 1st 11 2013/14. Guzan, Lowton, Vlaar, Okore Luna, Westwwod, Bacuna, Wijnaldum, Gabby, Benteke, Weimann

Possible Sub Selection: Steer, Gabby, Carruthers, Helenius, Bennett, Baker, Sylla, Delph, Clark, plus some of our next gen stars.

Some of you might say I'm on crack actually it's Pepsi, but I think team will be contenders against any team.

I know Georgino has not yet arrived, who knows if he actually will but that role AM will be filled by some talented player, UPDAVILLA

Well this sites gone quiet now that the benteke saga is over, so with that i'll attempt to bring some life back. Just out of interest, what would everybody's starting 11 be for the coming season, assuming every player is fit and able to play. Here's mine:

Guzan
Lowton, vlaar, okore, luna
Bacuna, sylla, westwood, tonev
Benteke, weiman

The hardest ones to leave out are baker and helenius for me, baker is a very good player and really came into his own at the back end of the season, and helenius looks good in front of goal. One thing is for certain it will be very nice to have quality on the bench for once!
