Sorry walkies, it would be a giant step backwards in my opinion, if that were to happen.

The idea of Terry taking over is like farting in a lift, wrong on so many levels. No no no.

Not saying I want Terry but his a medic down there and that's what his been told. Only time will tell but this guy is usually bang on which this worrys me but on the other hand at least he could get us good players from chelsea youth. Would everybody be unhappy then? I must say it wouldn't surprise me Terrys been sniffing round a while. I will try get more info out of him but he don't give much away what ever people think of Smith he is a real top bloke apparently.

Villadave-i'd have to disagree with you there fella, everyone I know who are chavski fans tell me that j.t. commands the respect of the players and while at chelski he would sometimes take charge of defensive training sessions and sometimes more, I think if he is given free reign and not hampered by deano's rubbish philosophy

I think he'd do what all clever coaches' do, start with a strong back line, not one that is a mixture of inexperienced players who aren't played in their right positions, yes he'll make mistakes, but that happens to everyone, and put more simply, I reckon we'll end up bringing in players on loan with a buy clause should we have a great season.

and for me, if you can phone lampard, mourinho and ask for the pick of their young talent to take on loan, I think it would be very short-sighted to ignore what he could bring to us, and who says he won't bring in his own backroom with some Stella names to help attract talent.

I'd love to see Paul cook or Neil warnock given a chance, but I'd definitely give terry a chance, and why not bring in big Sam as director of football to help him along the way, all I know is terry has been a success wherever he's been and old teammates have said they'd work with him if they got the call.

for me that sort of loyalty should not be dismissed or judged because of what has happened as assistant manager, Dean Smith is to blame for this season, if terry is going to get slaughtered then so should the forwards and midfielders' coaches, and the fitness coaches, the whole lot of them.

but at the end of the day, I don't think anyone would suggest that for 36 games not one coach approached deano and said we should change our system, no, deano was too blinkered and arrogant, if we stay up FANTASTIC, but deano still needs to be given the tin tack, his team, his system, his choices, HIS RESPONSIBILITY.

Fair play 82, you make some very good points mate, and I do admire your loyalty to someone who has been at our club for a couple of years.
Lets look forward and as chris says, see what happens.

Villadave-yep, as usual nothing will go the way we want it too, and knowing our luck we'll end up with Neill Lennon or Robbie Savage!
