Finally got back from Brighton, great support as usual and the nine changes are all pushing for consideration on Saturday. I thought hourihane was lively and must deserve a start. McGinn is McGinn just amazing. Jack did good. Defence was solid unfortunately Hause and Konsa need to wait for injuries before they get a start. And now on my soap box, bluntly if I was Targett I would give up football if the dwarf keep me out of first team football.

He made more attacking crosses in 90 mins than Taylor has done all this season and most of last. I listened to Deanos after match interview, he made absolutely no mention of tragett whilst praising almost the rest of the team. I really can't let it go as it frustrates me intensely that such a weak innefective full back plays week after week.

Maybe because it was targetts first game back from injury?

Maybe because he put zero crosses in in pre season so didn't showcase that.
Maybe his fitness wasn't up to scratch from lack of first team football.
Maybe Smith feels he would leave us more open than the more defensive Taylor (ironically something you have been complaining about)
He's only just coming back from injury and Brighton were playing a near non-existant B Team so let's not get carried away.

Nothing about getting carried away, a cross is a cross in any standard of football, my only real point is Deano keeps picking an extremely weak link, if Targett is not the answer find someone who is.

Its a cup game rk, we won and won well, cup games are great levelers.
Look at Tottenham, Stoke, Bournmouth, West Ham, Sheff Utd.
Like Scotty said, a cross is a cross, and any 11 v 11 is not a forgone conclusion.
We won be happy, blimey.

Targett has been injured with a hamstring. I don't think he fit enough to play 90mins. Definitely will number 1 choice sooner or later. Taylor not done nothing wrong defensively but going forward looks clueless.

Tindy mate got to take issue with you, "clueless" and "nothing wrong" can't possibly used in the same paragraph to describe a premier league player and that's my whole point. You are trying to be both fair and honest. "Clueless" is where I leave this debate and I promise I will never mention Taylor on this forum again. (ps he is still the worst left back in the premier) . that's it.

Fair enough clueless is definitely over the top. Taylor been very good player for us because defensively he not done anything wrong so far this season but in the final 3rd he lacks ideas and consistency in playing a final ball that's a cross or a decisive pass. I think in the next 3-5 games you will see targett replacing him. But Taylor will very good cover if needed. I just hope targett is very good defensively as Taylor is.
UTV.

Dave, where did I say I wasn't happy we won? I just said hailing Targett as the Messiah against Taylor was getting carried away.
The only way that Brighton side were going to keep us under pressure for a long time was by having Queen and David Bowie on loop so isn't proof he will be the answer.

I did not say that you said you were not happy.
I said be happy we have won, in other words we should all be happy about it, it was a good result.
Opposition is not relevant its 11 v 11, on the night.
