Subject now not Aston Villa tho VAR what a nightmare it had the weekend the Wolves got done twice by it in the Brighton Bournmouth game aswel its a joke we are paying a lot of money to watch football and it does appear to be being ruined. If Aston Villa do go down which hopfully we won't 1 thing I won't miss is VAR. Edds what's your view on it is it good for the game? I belive 1 bad judgement by VAR at the end of the season could relegate somebody.

{Ed001's Note - Wolves never got done twice. Both their goal and Liverpool's should have stood, there is not one view that showed the ball hitting van Dijk's hand and the ref got it wrong on Lallana's shoulder, so it actually was one of the few times it was used correctly, when it gave the Liverpool goal.

But these offside decisions are ludicrous, and they never seem to spot any off the ball fouls or anything which VAR would actually help with. They are too focused on trying to back up the refs and pretend they are good at their jobs.

1 bad judgement will not relegate someone. If they have not been good enough over 38 games, that is not because of one VAR decision. Liverpool have had as many decisions go against them as anyone (though they conveniently always get forgotten when one goes LFC's way!) but they are good enough to just go and score again and again so it doesn't end up costing them.

A lot of the issues could be solved by simply using the system that we are supposed to use and the ref use pitchside monitors. VAR should not make any decisions, it should just tell the ref that he needs to have a look at it or not.}

Sorry edds by twice I included the man city game. But to be honest it takes far to long for them to make the mind up and these offsides are a joke. When as fans can we celebrate? A lot these offsides are wrong because you can't score with your arm. The norwich game the guys behind him. Why do they have VAR by side of the pitch if there not gona use it? What would happen if a ref did use it do you think mate would he be in trouble for not following proticol? Do you think it was better without VAR.

{Ed001's Note - good point mate, I had completely forgotten that as they won it anyway, but you are right. My apologies. I am so used to dealing with Evertonians complaining everything is a conspiracy to give Liverpool the title and how if it had all been done fairly it would be them top of the league not LFC.

The ref would probably never get given a Prem game again as they are under instructions not to use the pitchside monitor.

It was much better without VAR, I didn't mind the refs making honest mistakes, I just thought they should explain themselves after a game. Maybe sit down and look over the footage and any cards they missed or gave incorrectly could be sorted etc. It was part of the game for me.}

100 per cent agree mate. Refs are a massive part why can't they be interviewed after the game?

{Ed001's Note - it is silly.}

But 99% of the time it is the right decision those goals were harsh but they were offside doesn’t matter if it 10 yards or 2mm offside is offside.

Not so sure about that Tom, You can not play a working mans game with tolerances like that, a blade of grass is irrelevant.
It has taken that spontaneous excitement away, and that was football, that sudden euphoria when your team scores, nothing like it.

Ed 001, whist I agree with your var views and let refs make honest mistakes, however with your Liverpool allegiance, how would you have felt if manes goal was disallowed in the final game of the season and you needed it to win the league for the first time in years, I doubt if you would have been so tolerant.

{Ed001's Note - it's the way it is. I have seen us have a load ruled out. I get more frustrated seeing teams like Norwich get stiffed.}

I totally agree it is silly how tight everything is but it works both ways some go for you and some go against you.
