Surely this has to be our line up.
To me that line up should make any team think hard about us.

Watkins

Grealish Barkley McGinn Traore

Luiz

Targett Mings Konsa Cash

Martinez

Bench: Steer, Hourihane, Davis,
Nakamba, Guilbert, Hause, Trez.

Good looking team, bench coming together also👌.

Dave how about rose to come in for targett to complete that good line up.

Like your team Dave, but who knows there may be a few more through the door to consider before the end of this window 🤞🏻. I noticed you haven’t got Jacob Ramsey on your bench, is the thinking that he will be loaned out.
I think we’ve already seen enough from young Ramsey to realize he could be very useful to us this season.
Personally, I would like to see him kept on, but with Ross Barkley’s arrival, a loan move may well be on the cards.
What does everybody else think?

Absolutely SV why not, we definitely need to do something about the left back position.
I would prefer either Guilbert or Elmo than Targett to be honest, there is room for thought.

Yes Mark, I think we now have what we need in Midfield, and I see Ramsey as a starter next season, I think he may well be loaned out if and when we exit the cup.
On the bench I have named, you could only leave out Hourihane for Ramsey, not sure that would be welcomed mate.
Love Ramsey, and he will be a star, if loaned out I would be happier if he went to a top Championship side, ie Bournmouth, or Brentford or even Swansea.

Like the looks of that team and the comment about danny rose I think he would be a very good signing if we can get him. Also the young lad from Denmark as further back up. Deano and Lange are definitely making quality signings to improve us further and further.

Definitely keep him I think we have seen enough to continue his integration into first team duties particularly in the cup games and cameo appearances in the prem.

That's a beautiful team Dave :-) Don't forget Wesley and Heaton will be back soon, add a striker / winger (King) to that team and it's a very strong side!

Let’s see if Engels plays tomorrow and does ok before buying a centre half, think the icing on the cake would be to get Josh King in for the £10M that’s been quoted and go with that till January, I’m expecting a top 10 finish now with Barkley coming in if we can keep the core of the team fit

UTV.

I agree John if we could use him, Markfrance, Moose, and myself are advocates for youth, we always have been.
Its not easy to use everyone, what team would you field and where would Ramsey be in the bench set up?

11.) 30 Sep 2020
30 Sep 2020 19:30:39
Good looking line up Dave and a very strong bench agree about finding a space for Ramsey if he doesn't go on loan. Things are looking good and Barkley will be available for Sunday so a massive boost there. Oh by the way, is it too late to change our minds about the 5 subs rule, now we've got a bit of quality? 😂😂😂😂.

12.) 30 Sep 2020
30 Sep 2020 19:40:20
On the face of it, I agree Dave, if we could guarantee keeping all our midfielders fit. Don’t want to be pessimistic but over the course of a season that’s unlikely.
If we do get our usual bad luck with injuries, then Ramsey could potentially have a big role to play.
However I accept that his development is important, and might be best served playing regularly for one of the better Championship teams. I think Deano will have a tough choice to make here.

13.) 30 Sep 2020
30 Sep 2020 19:43:23
BK, I would not be surprised if King is a late addition mate.
And as you say Wesley and Heaton, blimey we are getting spoiled for choice.

14.) 30 Sep 2020
30 Sep 2020 19:53:07
Where would you put him Mark, and at the expense who? don`t forget Wesley, Heaton and Engels are back soon, its difficult mate.
Like I have said to John we only have five subs, and like Moose has hinted, nine subs and we are laughing. 😂😂.

15.) 30 Sep 2020
30 Sep 2020 20:14:05
Yes it’s ironic that the 9 sub rule would actually really benefit us.
I think if Jack gets injured Dave, God forbid, then Ramsey could perhaps be a good back up.

Hi Dave,
Following Konsa's performance on Monday I have put the boots back in the shed.
Hopefully for ever. He kept Mitrovic quiet and that is difficult.
We seem to be moving forward quite quickly with the pieces fitting together.
Soon the jigsaw will be complete.

17.) 30 Sep 2020
30 Sep 2020 20:22:54
Absolutely mate, no question.
But we hope and pray that won`t happen, but who would you leave off the bench, or better still what would your bench be? in the case of the team above.

18.) 30 Sep 2020
30 Sep 2020 20:49:17
I think the bench could change accordingly to who we are playing and circumstances regarding the fitness levels of our first choice 11.
For instance if Deano knew Jack was carrying a knock, then putting Ramsey on the bench might make sense.
I think we will need to rotate things to some extent in any case, to keep things fresh and make the whole squad feel they’ve all got a part to play.

30 Sep 2020 20:51:46
Hi Oldvillan
Great shout, and I agree with you mate, Konsa was real good.
I think he might be developing into that ass kicker we have been looking for.
Still keep your boots in a safe place though OV, you never know.
Its all looking good mate 😂.

20.) 30 Sep 2020
30 Sep 2020 21:03:28
That makes good sense Mark, that`s one way round it.
Well that being the case, it would be reasonable to keep him at VP.
Glad they are not my decisions.
I feel like I have been round the block mate 😂😂😂.

30 Sep 2020 21:18:35
Targett gets too much stick. He’s mainly a decent option. imo better than Rose. He just needs to up his concentration as his weakness is ball-watching at times. But he’s good going forward, has a great understanding with Jack too. If we bring in a LB it should be a high quality young player to put more pressure on Targett and replace Taylor. I’m sorry but Guilbert is just not a better option at LB! He has terrible positioning, and can’t cross from the right, never mind the left. His recovery pace and love of a tackle make him look better than he is. Cash has already shown how much a better player he is, and there’s a reason Fred is third choice. I love the bloke. bit like Engels. but just don’t think they’re the required standard.

Also. I get the love for JJ. Boy has looked class in the Carabao, and great to see him make his debut. But best thing for him is to go on loan and get a full season in the championship. He came on so much from that short spell at Doncaster, and if he goes and gets regular games he’ll be ready to play a big role next season.

22.) 30 Sep 2020
30 Sep 2020 21:25:39
Dave I like your first team I think it’s spot on, in answer to your question re how I would use Ramsey I would alternate Ramsey and Hourihane on the bench probably using Hourihane in the games against the bigger clubs and Ramsey in the others. As markdavfrance says he also gives us injury cover if required. Whilst I like Hourihane he is not going to be a regular this season and I think his contract is up in the summer and given his age I would be surprised if he extended as he is going to want regular first team football I would have thought therefore better to start to get Ramsey used to premiership football now.

23.) 30 Sep 2020
30 Sep 2020 22:01:22
John, I like Ramsey a lot mate, and rotating him and Hourihane sounds great in theory, and I would go along with that.
But somehow I could not see Hourihane tolerating a rotating bench with Ramsey at this stage of his career.
As I said to Mark, great if it could be done.

24.) 30 Sep 2020
30 Sep 2020 22:34:04
Dave, I know this might sound harsh but if he can’t tolerate it then he can go in January, Lansbury is going to sit tight until next summer, so if necessary we can use him as back up. Who knows some of the other youngsters might have started to come through by then.

25.) 30 Sep 2020
30 Sep 2020 23:30:08
Very true John, its not harsh its how it is, reality.
