Huge Hamilton fan here, 1 of my most prized possessions is a piece of his nose cone the end plate from his mclaren at monza in 2009 when he crashed on I think the final lap if memory serves me correct at the parabolica, I was at 1 of the stalls buying a few items after the race and this youngster squeezed in beside me proud as punch with it, offered him 50 euro No deal, 100 euro No deal 150 euro No deal, eventually he pointed out a Maclaren racing jacket 180 euro price tag, maybe I got shafted but both of us walked away pretty happy it was a nice piece with the logo on it which I had mounted professionally by my mates missus to sit it on my mantle, looking back I’m sure that kid is to big for the jacket now but I’ve still got my souvenir 👌.

Great story Whacky and what a souvenir. With what he’s achieved since then, I would imagine it would be worth a lot more than 180 euros now. I doubt you would part with it though mate, would you?

No mate it means a lot to me I’m a very sentimental person and it’s not a thing u could ever replace I’ve being following formula 1 longer than I have football lol and yes what he’s achieved is legendary no matter what car he has it’s still a huge achievement it’s so hard to keep doing it year after year, even when vettel had the best car Lewis was the only 1 able to give him some competition.

Yes there’s no doubt in my mind that Lewis is by far the best driver of his era mate. He may well go on and get into double figures for World titles, such is his dominance.
Do you think Mercedes should keep Bottas as his teammate or should they give a talented youngster such as George Russell an opportunity?

Personally I’d love to see verstappen in the second car I think he’s probably the only driver that would be competitive enough to challenge him, I like sainz aswel but he’s going to Ferrari next year, him and le clerc will be good if they have a better car under them, Ferrari very poor this last few years. nice to see mclaren improved this year, will be a while before we have a season like 2008 looks like, that was class kimi, massa, alonso and Lewis was great competition every race.
