Been stated you can't use international's, as an excuse. But you could certainly pick out the ones who had been involved.
The first goal especially was, schoolboy defending We had more than enough chances, to win it We have to get back to being solid, defensively for the Hammers . Traore fitted in well in the middle, until he ran out of steam .
Whether it be physically or mentally, some of our big players where lacking .

No pen for me the trajectory of the ball changes so much that its harsh to give it. We are the makers of our own fate we shouldve taken atleast 1 of the many chances in the first half and defensively we need to learn from it. Some good some bad some ugly and barkley going off made a big difference to the finess going forward. On to the next one and keep the faith 💪🏼.

Traoré’s performance, particularly in the first half, was one of the few positives IMO. With a few more games and a bit more fitness, I have a feeling he could be a big player for us. I particularly like his ability to play in several different positions, not just as a winger. Another plus was Matty Cash’s driving runs going forward, something we haven’t seen enough of in previous games.

If you hadn't watched the game yesterday and looked at the match stats you'd probably be forgiven for thinking it was a smash and grab raid against the run of play and you'd probably have a point. On another day we score a hat full and win comfortably without hitting top gear. What is frustrating from our point of view is the manner of the Brighton goals and the defensive naivety we showed. With centre halves when 1 pushes up the other drops and the defensive mid sits in. I feel like we play a different way at home compared to away where we sit solidly and hit with pace on the break. With no supporters to egg the team forward maybe the same pragmatic approach could be adopted. We are extremely competent doing this as our victories against liverpool, Leicester and Arsenal showed. If something works effectively don't change it. Under MON we were renowned for this and with the players we have in our team should be the way we play. We showed yesterday we're capable of creating chances even when we're not at our best. Just food for thought after yesterday's disappointment.

That’s the point I was trying to make further down mate. If we can beat the better teams playing that way, in theory it shouldn’t be a problem beating the lesser teams playing exactly the same way. The incredible stat is, that we haven’t conceded a goal in the away games, where we’ve adopted that approach, yet we’ve conceded 11 goals in the home games, in which we’ve at times played recklessly.

Think your probably right there Dave, when we moved Grealish in the middle it made sense because of how much footy he’s played he was struggling to track Lamptey. It was only after the game I realised Traore had played 90 minutes the other night aswell, hence why he also struggled!

With that being said I still think we did enough to get the draw, had Trez got his shooting boots on we probably would of nicked a win, the stats are ridiculous. 5 on target to their 3 and 12 in total to their 6.

Hope Barkley isn’t out too long, yesterday was made for him, with everyone else involved in international football I thought he’d be the one with Watkins to take the pressure off them, cruel injury so early on.

I thought it was a shrewd move tactically with the switch Mark, obviously Trez does track back more but Lamptey had the freedom of Villa park at times and was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch until his sending off.
