Aston Villa confirm 'significant' C.V. outbreak at the club. Apparently a large number of first-team players and staff are in isolation after returning positive tests on Monday.

Yeah, not great. Inevitable I'm afraid. Hopefully nobody's health is badly affected including their family members. Speedy recovery 🙏.

Most of us have had a liberties restricted and have carried out our part in complying with restrictions to our every day freedoms. The privileged "elite sportsman" have been allowed to carry on and it seems have put two fingers up to us, disgraceful behaviour.

With many clubs now reporting CV outbreaks I suspect football will soon come grinding to a halt.

I think what this proves is that despite all the bio secure bubbles, monitoring and regular testing that anyone can catch it and makes you more angry seeing idiots going out without masks in public places, supermarkets etc and basically not giving a f##k about anyone else.

I think you're rolling all professional footballers up into one there mate which doesn't seem fair. As ever, its the minority that give the majority a bad name.
Most are just getting on with their day job and under exactly the same restrictions as the rest of us in terms of only leaving the house for work, food, medicine etc. They still don't get to see friends, family etc, the same as us. Unfortunately the decent majority don't make the headlines like the party boys do.

No evidence that a breach of rules has caused this outbreak, strange to assume it was🤔.

Its only one stupid pr. k that can spread it throughout the club.
Because they get paid more than I could earn in my lifetime they think they are immune and don't have to behave.

Could this effect tomorrows game?

Away from VP I am delighted that I will get my jab on Saturday.
So one more day of shutting myself away and then I can go outside for fresh air.
Might keep my wife happy me being out of the house.
We have obeyed the words and not wandered or driven off away from the area.
Hope you can all be jabbed soon, if you want to be jabbed.
If you don't then that's your choice!

So you have not been out at all then Oldvillan?

VAR have awarded a pen in the next game as a result.

Hopefully all pull through.
Doesn't matter how old you are, colour of your skin or what you do for a living this virus is a bitch.

I don’t think this should come as any great surprise given the rapid transition of the new variant of the virus and the way it continues to spread not only at Villa then I think it’s only a matter of time before football gets shut down again with all the associated issues that presents.

I believe the premier league has to be concluded by the 23rd of May to enable the Euros to take place any lengthy lockdown and I think another postponement will be on the cards.

Hi Dave,
I have followed the strict direction of only essential journeys to be made.
Since November 2nd I have seen the Dr and the physio which are alongside the place that visitors flock, The Harbour.
Slight detour to see our town, staying in the car, then straight home.
My wife goes shopping and I joined her one night at 8pm.
Thats about it.

If you had caught it during that shopping trip, would it have been fair to assume you are a stupid pr*ck?

Got it Oldvillan, I thought you were a prisoner so to speak haha.
Best of luck with your jab mate.

Players are people, same as everyone here. They are allowed to do the same as we are, a player or member of staff has most likely caught the virus doing such activities and inadvertently passed it on to the rest of the group.

The fact that some on here are immediately looking to fabricate rumours that someone has acted out of line resulting in this outbreak, or in some cases single out individuals, is disgraceful. At a time like this, to talk like that, shameful.

I hope each and everyone of them along with their families, recovers ASAP.

Chris you are right.
Because my wife has been shopping etc since around March I decided to go with her .
Late shopping only a few people in a big store.
Big coat, cap pulled down, 2 masks and two trolleys. Calculated risk
You can create a lot of space with two trolleys.

Dave, never looked forward to getting the needle before.
But you guessed, 50+ years with no remission. Vicar said you will serve a full sentence.
Almost as much comfort as being inside at HMP.

Btw I wasn’t trying to be nasty or anything like that old villain, just pointing out that the chances are it was brought into the group by someone who has picked it up simply doing what they are allowed to and following the rules.

No matter how safe anybody is, there’s always a risk, even with home deliveries, with the virus living on surfaces etc.

I commend you on your vigilance and effort however oldvillain, if everyone had followed suit from the beginning, at least to a certain degree, chances are we wouldn’t be in a lockdown right now.
