It seems that our interest in Brooks is instead of Barkley, the view being that Brooks can play in the same position he is 4 years younger and his wages would be a lot less and although he has just come back from injury Brooks is less injury prone.

Hmmm, not sure about that.
Not seen any rumours that suggest Barkley isn’t staying until the end of the season. The Birmingham Mail is being speculative given our link with Brooks.
