We may however need another central defender with the departure of Engels. Hause is the only other recognized player to replace Konsa or Mings, so what are your suggestions? I suppose we could retain Dominic Revan or promote Mungo Bridge but would you be confident in either of them stepping up if needed.

A lot of people want to shoot down ideas. But yet a lot of people are quick to criticise Mings if he has a bad game. Also as Mark has stated only one senior central defensive back up in Hause and let’s be honest his injury record isn’t getting any better. Engles gone frees up a space and we definitely need reforcements. So come on people who would you bring in to challenge the two main stay centre backs and yes I know Axel is going to get mentioned I myself have said I would like to see him back but shout me some other players.

Axel on loan, give the youngsters chance to grow and have that position for themselves the season after. Save the money for positions we need. Plus it would be a bit mental having 3 left footed centre halves at the club.

Moose, Tarkowski is not all that. Looks good in a Burnley side. Watched him lot this season not for me caught out of position many times. His reading of the game isn’t great either. I’m inclined to agree with you Moose, Cahill or possibly Tuanzebe on loan with option to buy for me. I don’t think spending what funds we have left on a cover for the centre back position is our real priority we need that defensive midfielder to protect the back four that’s where we should be investing our remaining budget.

I am with Chris on this one, Axel on loan and then we can develop the obvious talent we have in Dominic Revan and Mungo Bridge.
Just because we have the wealth of our owners behind us, it does not mean we should use it every time.
We can ease pressure on our defence by retaining the ball better, and controlling midfield for longer periods.

I think with hause on the bench we would be ok with promoting a junior player for cover, they have to start sometime, everyone was calling for them to get minutes last season, I don’t think just because it’s transfer season that we have to go buy one, for me it’s promote a youngster, buy a CDM and 1 more attacking player be it a winger, striker or a 10.
