I have been consistent in my views on players just not good enough to start if we are to progress and push for European football. Mcginn, Luiz Konsa, Young, Bailey, Cash, Watkins, Ings would not get in a top six side, which is the level required in order to compete with the best. I know its not a popular view, however its my honest opinion and consistent.

With the exception of Young and Ings each of those players have the potential to improve with the correct coaching. They are all comfortably top half premier league players. Why wouldn't they improve? We need to add another pacy dribbler up front.

If our team was full of top 6 players we would probably be in the top 6. What we are looking for is a team that's better than the sum of its parts. Hopefully Emery can achieve this transformation. The right tactics can make average players over achieve and we will need to do this to attract top players

I think to beat Villa players with the "wouldn't get in a Top 6 side" stick is a bit unfair Caffu - We aren't near to being a Top 6 side yet but what we are is a team a few signings away from being in the "best of the rest" conversation. We now have an elite level coach who will improve all of those players and see Villa push up the table. Look at Newcastle, at the start of the season how many of their side would you have said would get in the Villa 11? 3 maybe? That's what a top coach can do and we now have that, we need to give him time to work with the squad and bring in some new bodies in January. I've already seen a massive improvement in McGinn, Luiz and Bailey and yes long term they may not be what we need to make the jump into the elite but they are very good players and starting to show what they can do working under a manager like Emery! The future is bright mate :-)
