Savo no1 said anything bout messi or ronaldo, my point is we are in the prem now and we are looking at championship players hardly sends out ambition does it, the whole squad needs proven quality because at the moment this squad will come strait bck down, we need good players not average players like jota, lolley, gayle . there's players like rondon, mitrovic, cahill, milner, big ben, arter batishuai all could be good targets. Its like if u buy a car u don't buy a banger do you,

Jota under Smith at Brentford was a seriously good player and will be an improvement on Albert. Dean obviously knows something about him he likes. We need cover in virtually every position and at £4 million plus the nose Gardner is hardly a gamble. As I've said on other posts, we are the new boys in the premier league and are unlikely to attract world class players this season. We need to survive and build back to the mighty Aston Villa. Remember under Sir Graham Taylor? I don't remember too many star players being bought and look what happened then.

I wouldn't touch any of them bar Mitrovic Villa4Eva - Jota is underwhelming but he is an improvement on both Adomah and Green, so our squad is improved already.

Think we all need to relax, better players will arrive.

Technically it hasn't improved as until people start coming through the door we don't actually have a full first team but that's being pedantic.
I agree that Albert's form post injury means almost anyone is an upgrade. Every purchase is a risk as no player is the same for 2 different teams and everyone has patches of form.
If whoever we buy isn't working we still have Green who can do a job if he can shake the super sub stigma. He'll get a lot more space now less teams will sit back.
