Looks like Traore is in, any good lads?

{Ed002's Note - Very good.}

1.) 13 Sep 2020 21:01:04
Yes he is a very good player Mantz, quick, direct, and can score a goal or two.

2.) 13 Sep 2020 22:02:00
Poor season last year, season before he was very good. Wonder if JT has pushed for this one based on his time at Chelsea.

3.) 14 Sep 2020 08:25:12
His form has dipped this season but he's a very decent player and at 25 he's still got potential to pick up form if played. Was behind depay and dembelle. Both very good players so won't read too much into last season. Imo better than el gazi and trez for certain. Is he instead of rashica or do we think rashica is still a possibility? Would love to see them both arrive but I'm not so sure it's going to happen we have spent a fair bit now.

Reports suggest he is having a medical today in Denmark. Lange is in Denmark currently and wants to oversee things.

5.) 14 Sep 2020 17:59:01
Could Lange being in Denmark possibly suggest he could be looking at a few players from his Copenhagen days 🤔 wait for the BS newspaper stories to come out 😂😂.

6.) 14 Sep 2020 21:15:10
Lyon manager has confirmed he is going to Villa.
Just his medical to complete and visa to get. I saw somewhere it was hoped he would get his visa tomorrow.

7.) 15 Sep 2020 13:32:00
You would imagine with Traore favouring the right flank, that most likely puts to bed a few other winger options, such as Buendia and Wilson.

If a Rashica deal does proceed, is Benrahma or King the only alternatives we have in mind? Although Cantwell plays down the left, he is more of a midfielder.

I understand King is currently back in Norway recovering from injury, whilst Palace want a loan deal for Benrahma.

Guys, is it just me that’s thinking Smith’s comments about just one player in will leave us short somewhere?

Think we need a player for top 3 attacking positions- a central midfielder, and a left back to challenge Targett? .

1.) 28 Sep 2020 08:24:54
We will sign a forward. seems like it’ll be a versatile player who can play across the front three (Edouard, Rashica, Sarr, King) . Then the midfield option increasingly looks like being RLC. If we keep him fit, and he gets a regular run of games, he’ll be a huge upgrade on Conor as the regular starter at 8. Then it looks like Victor Nelsson at CB, which we really need. Another versatile option who can cover. Whilst we all want a new LB to push Targett on, that seems unlikely this window.

I actually think keeping Davies is a really good move, if he can start getting his confidence up and hitting the net he will/ can be a lethal striker. Get him out on loan, bang in the goals and you then have someone who can bully back lines everywhere.

Still unsure what the striker plan looks like, is Rashica coming in?, if so I get it, if not then I think we will struggle up front, always feel we run out of time in the transfer market, whether a striker short or a defender.

Benrahma reported to CP for £20m which I believe would have been good business for us.
I think.

1.) 13 Sep 2020 12:16:47
Very strange that the price has suddenly gone down from 30 m to 20m.

2.) 13 Sep 2020 13:55:05
I think DS has moved on from Benrahma and is looking for a higher class of player.

3.) 13 Sep 2020 14:51:18
I have wondered if Smith’s past history with the Bees has actually been a disadvantage.

From memory, Maupay ended up being sold for a cheaper value than we had been quoted.

4.) 13 Sep 2020 15:49:22
I’m glad we didn’t buy him he gets a few goals but not a nice person on field always involved in a drama,

5.) 13 Sep 2020 16:32:14
To be honest I would prefer Benrahma at £20 million to Rashica at £16.5 million because Benrahma would be happy to join us whereas Rashica doesn’t really want to be here.

I get the feeling that Brentford are a tad hacked off that we keep taking their talented players and a premium is added when we declare an interest but at the £30 million we were apparently being quoted I am not surprised the club looked at alternatives as they are virtually able to buy both Traore and Rashica for that fee.

The other interesting thing for me is that we continue to be linked with strikers like Edouard, King, and Brewster but if we sign Rashica, Traore and Martinez that’s the £100 million gone so unless we have. a number of outgoings lined up that will generate significant additional funds where is the money coming from? Is Jack about to be sold?

6.) 13 Sep 2020 16:50:18
My feelings as well John.

7.) 13 Sep 2020 18:27:20
Well Aka if that is going to happen we should take a leaf out of the Brentford book and if it is that he is sold and it is to United then we should insist upon £70 million plus Tuanzebe and nothing less.

8.) 13 Sep 2020 19:05:59
John, I am one of those supporters who believe we shouldn’t build our team around one player so I will accept life with or without Grealish.

9.) 14 Sep 2020 14:30:08
I far prefer Rashica. Played at a higher level, and different type of player. Quick, direct and strong. There’s a level of debate whether Benrahma will make the step up, and style of play may be more similar to Grealish. What we really lacked last year was pace, and we’re (supposedly) signing some really fast players. There’s a really good plan in place.

Reports I’ve seen say that Rashica is really keen to join Villa; not sure where it has come from that he doesn’t want to? Yes, his first preference was Leipzig but that was for valid reasons (stay in Germany, Champions league) . They’ve pulled out and he’s very happy to consider us. I guess he’d have looked at where we were last year and having come from the Championship. having fears is understandable. From various accounts it seems we’ve sold the vision to him and therefore getting a next-level player is looking really likely.

I think we’re in for a very exciting year!

10.) 14 Sep 2020 14:53:48
Also. lots of people commenting that Rashica doesn’t want to join us. but what about all the reports that Benrahma doesn’t want to leave London? Seems more evidence that he doesn’t want to come!
