AVFCAgent you called the Borini and Walker rumour 2 days before anyone else, so credit for that.
crokey 1991 I posted the new owners were Howard Hodgson and Ian Taylor backed by China Equity Group (worth 7 billion) ten days ago!

Just to add the takeover should be completed early July. The only thing I'm not sure of is if the Chinese group are going to be hands on or just sit back as silent investors as I'm not privy to that info.
The rumour I've heard is that when they were approached 6 months ago it was to be only as investors but they've since changed and decided it's more beneficial to grow Aston Villa as a brand in Asia.

growing Aston Villa as a brand in Asia will take serious money and I'm not sure he current FFP rules will allow that. But that doesn't mean we can't spread the spending over a few seasons rather than in one or two transfer windows. problem is where would we be able to try and maximise the name of the club? China? Premier League Football isn't widely followed so can't see that being much use for us. Liverpool and the usual suspects have got the Hing Kong-Singapore market sewn up, and given that knock off shirts are ten a penny, and good quality, in South-East Asia it begs the question whether 1) This is true and 2) Whether trying to grow us as a brand is going to take more time and money than these (Chinese) owners would possibly care to spend on us.
