It now looks extremely likely that the team finishing 5th in the premier league will now miss out on the extra champions league spot, because Man U and Newcastle both finished bottom of the league and didn't even make the Europa safety net.The fifth place team at the end of the season team will obviously show their gratitude in the fixtures against these two next season

It would be ironic Scot if either those 2 teams finished in fifth place so didn’t qualify for the champions league.

The other 5 teams have all topped their respective groups. If 4 make it through to the quarters and we get a couple of finalists I still think England will get 1 of the 2 spots even accounting for the wins being spread over those 2 extra teams not contributing.
