Rio Ferdinand? What do people think, going for another free player, shows lack of any investment in real talent? Personally I think he is a long way past his best, and clearly has his mind in interest other than football these days, a 'celebrity footballer' the worse kind of footballer, not welcome at Villa Park.

Sources tell me a former England player IS coming to VP. A winger/striker and someone we wanted two years ago. I'm sworn to secrecy but it's not difficult to work out.
