No!
As for what ever reason angle didn’t score. he still was I the right place to shoot, or at least try to hit target.

I agree we don’t play to hogans strengths. he is a professional player, and should also be able to adapt, or mix up his play, however, when he does get the ball, it’s released again from him either side ways, or backwards.

Confidence is massive, I get that, how ever. to be a pro, at the highest level, (where he said before signing he believes he should be playing) his belief in his own ability is paramount. He should when given his chance grab it by the scruff of the neck. Yet he doesn’t.

Comparing him to angel is crazy, so much was against him when he came, language, illness, let alone a whole different country, a new continent. hogan has moved 136 miles. To the same league!

I’m not saying hogan is poor, and I do think he ‘could’ be quality. He needs time, which we can’t give him. But, he doesn’t help him self, and his inability to adapt his game to the style we are trying to play, (whether you think it’s the way we should play or not) is poor.

Don’t forget these guys train every day on this formation, style of play. Yet he either can’t, or refuses to adapt.
Ask your self, if you where him, and you either wanted to play, or move. would you let kids, unproven kids, come in to the side and show you up, out play you, and do what is asked of them?

One more thing, his body language is so negative, like the world is on his shoulders. in contrast to Adomah, or Kodjia, the ball comes to them, they are positive, and make things happen, so when they make their run it’s seen. hogan hides in games, makes obvious movements in front of goal, and looks like he doesn’t want the ball. so if when he does get it, he has to pass backwards, negative.
Everything he does is mechanical and because he has to. not instinctive. It might be his confidents, it might be his lack of interest. What ever it is, we don’t want it to breed in the team.

Excellent point flackie. People forget that they train everyday in this tactic. It's not like in training they do the opposite to match day.
I just think he step up to quick. Had good run of form with Brentford and we snapped him up. He might move on and bang goals in for someone else but it won't be a bigger club than us. He belongs at teams like Brentford being there star player.

Although Angel did come good eventually (he was also a nice bloke by the way), I seem to remember we got rid of a certain Peter Crouch to accommodate him and Phillips. Oh to turn back the clock. Happy New Year everyone.
