Shouldn't Villa be sending Rory Wilson out on loan in January? Scotland are screaming out for a No9, and a run with a Championship club and him bagging a few goals could get him on the plane and could only be good for his value, or see if he's good enough to be in our 1st team squad ??‍♂️

He needs to find a loan with a high chance of minutes but that will be league 1 or 2, way too early for him to make the world cup.
He isn't regularly starting for any U21 side, so maybe we shouldn't over egg him as the messiah just yet.

Theo Walcott was already in and around the Southampton first team.
He was also never going to get any minutes. It was a complete marketing gimmick at that time as the FA had their favourite 15-18 and the other 5-8 were just there for emergencies.

I was just trying to be positive about 1 of our player. If we’re honest Scotland ain’t got a wealth of strikers, Adams and Dykes, Barry Fry wouldn’t have signed them when he he was buying strikers left and right. I’m guessing Wilson will 1 day be their main striker, why not have him around the squad just so he has a taste of it? Can only be good for Villa. I honestly couldn’t care less about Scotland, was thinking with my Villa hat on ??‍♂️

If an U21s striker would be called up then I'd expect the one starting and not the one on the bench.
Supporting youth is great, but this is just going down the same route we've seen with Archer, Barrie, KKH etc.


We're seeing good things from Bogarde after a few years of gradual progression. If Wilson's current coaches don't think he's ready to be at that level then I back that, let him play at a level that breeds confidence.
