They’re still pumping the story about Jackson, even though we’d shaft ourselves with the PSR & probably the UEFA fine thing if we did sign him. Loads of talk about Ollie leaving, but I think that’s more bs.
I know someone who knows someone whose kids go to the same school/nursery as Ollie's, & from what’s been said it’s more likely he’s gonna sign a contract extension cos he’s settled in the Midlands.

I'm a little worried about the Watkins thing, to be honest. If we had a 25 million bid turned down for a striker, it means we're looking for one. We have Watkins, Tammy and Madjo.
Worst case, we have to wait till January for Madjo. Kinda says to me that a striker is going, and I can't see anyone buying Tammy for a decent chunk of the 20 million we spent on him.

Also... I think Taylor Harwood Bellis of Southampton would be worth looking at, the guy is solid & a leader. We've been linked with a No9 from Levante called Carlos Espi. He looks like a Liam Delap kind of striker, or Chris Wood, great in the air. I think he has a buy out clause of EUR25M.

Just reading that Carlos Espi is joining Real Madrid, been reported that we might have been after him, which brings me onto (& why not?) why don’t we try for Endrick from Real? He’s Brazilian, he’s left footed, not strictly a right winger but what a statement that would be? He was on loan at Lyon last year so maybe we could go the same route? Transfermarket has him valued at €40M

Matias Soule looks like he's leaving Roma. I think he would be great on the right wing.
He's got good pace, is a good dribbler, and knows how to score a goal or two. I think Fulham and Sunderland are looking at him, but obviously I think Villa would be a better option than either of those.

He’s gotten a lot of stick in Argentina because he’s stood his ground over him saying that CR7 is better than Messi, even to the point that they say they’ll never pick him for the squad again, & he’s said so be it. Apparently in Argentina, the players got a heroes' welcome, and, as far as the population are concerned, all the shenanigans after the final whistle are fair enough. In fact, they have started a petition to have the final replayed as the referee was biased, and I think they have over 10,000 signatures. ??

They’re saying Trafford off to Leeds for £40M+ now. Think he’s a really good keeper but in what world does someone who played only 15 (ish) games last season's price go up by £10M. ??♂️ Which brings the PSR thing into play again. A club wants £10M more for a player that in some respects is a failure at that club not being their No1.
So on that alone, doesn’t that make a mockery of it all? Leeds should be paying less for him than what Citeh bought him for, so they could get dragged into being fined should they buy any more expensive players. I’m gonna say he’s (really) worth £25M, so Leeds are £15M down but (if worth £25M) Citeh are up £15M. Absolute joke of a rule

More random stuff… I’ve read that if we were after Jackson & buy him (cos we can’t loan him) within 45 days of them buying Rogers off us, then that counts as part of a swap deal & affects the PSR thing.

Just been looking into a striker I've mentioned on here before, Jose 'Flaco' Lopez, he's left footed like Jackson & less than half the price. He was in the Argentina squad for the World Cup, you'll like this... When Spain went to receive the trophy, all the Argentinian players & staff turned their backs, except 1, Flaco Lopez. He has since said that he doesn't care if he doesn't play for Argentina again because he went against what the rest of them did or were told to do.
That's class from him. Check out his YouTube highlights. I think he'd be perfect for us, but if he was to end up elsewhere, I wish him all the best. Good to see someone with integrity & morals playing the beautiful game. ??

Our track record over the last 10-15 years with players has cost us quite a lot of money, with very little success. The money we made on the likes of Roger's, Duran, Ramsey, Youri, etc., is great business, but we have to follow it up with smart moves. A 40 million buy clause in the Garnacho loan deal and another possible 60 million to buy Jackson is absurd.
One has a terrible attitude, the other has never proved to be good enough for the Premier League. Chelsea can’t find anyone to buy either of them; both are probably on ridiculous wages as well. We could end up in a situation where we get nothing out of the 115 million Roger's money.

The plot thickens on that 1. My timeline might be a bit off, but I’ve read that Mbaye wanted to sign for Villa. There’s also a picture of his parents at Villa (maybe Bodymoor Heath) holding a Villa shirt with his name & the number 49 on it, but he’s switched agents & to Jorge Mendes, who wants him to join a 'bigger' club. So far, no takers. I might be wrong, but guess who Garnacho's agent is. ? Also Mendes, as far as I know. This is what I don’t get. As his (Mbaye's) agent, wouldn’t he have been better to advise him to join a club like Villa for, let’s say, £40M, be on a good wage, let him rip it up in the Prem, which would mean his price doubling, and maybe more, then if he was sold to a 'bigger' club, Mendes would be quids in again.

That Allan plays for the same team as Jose Flaco Lopez I've been banging on about. If they could get the 2 of 'em, then I'm slapping £100 on us to win the Prem lol. ? Allan's YouTube looks decent but not out of this world. But, if it's true we've made a bid for him, then we must be actively looking for a left footed winger. We've been linked with Soule for most of the window, so that 1's probably bs then? I like the look of Roony fella from Barcelona, who they're saying is available for around £10M or a loan.
My understanding of it is they don't want him to leave, but he ain't gonna play ahead of Yamal, so they are open to him leaving for his own career's sake, which is a nice touch by Barca. ??♂️
