Ollie coming in for a lot of stick,On MOTD last night Dion Dublin was full of praise for him .Dion was saying how Ollie makes great runs,to draw defenders out, creating room for the others .I remember posts on here, criticising Ramsey, for those doubters, you have to admit, the improvement is brilliant.

Ollie is doing a lot more defending under stevie a bit like firimo is with Liverpool he is giving a lot more to the team than goals unfortunately its goals that win games, as for Ramsey I was one that couldn't see the hype but since Gérard came in its like the shackles have been taken of him, he was class last night

I agree he was very good at taking his chances. I still think he needs to work on the other side of the game though. He's anonymous when defending.

I thought Ramsey didn't do anything other than score the goals. I'd like to see Ings start, he plays on the shoulder more and makes better forward runs, Buendia and Coutinho could play him in.

He can continue to do nothing at all as long as he scores two every game ?

That's true, but the goals he scores would be cancelled out by him not tracking his runner and us conceding

It’s always a tricky balance as a midfielder the defensive versus the offensive side of the game. I am sure the coaches will work with Ramsey re the defensive aspects of the game but i hope that’s not at the expense of his offensive threat. Defenders and defensive midfielders are paid to defend they should take care of protecting Martinez, that’s not Ramsey’s game is not a defensive his threat comes in the final third with his direct running and his biliary to support the striker

He doesn't necessarily have to defend deep but he doesn't press or cut off passing avenues either which is something he definitely does need to work on and wouldn't affect the other side of his game.
