Hey Guys, Hope you all are doing alright.

I was watching Leicester vs Burnley today and while the ball was out for throw-in the Burnley player turned his back and was walking away. I was expecting (not sure why) a throw-in on his back but instead Leicester player waited for few mins for his player to comeback/ come near him.

My question is that, is there anything wrong if we do that? I never played professional football but in my college days we used to do that. Or has the rules changed/ modified/ nullified this.

And ofcourse if I don't mention this at the end this post will not be complete 😅 very excited for tomorrow's match. Hope we start with a win. UTV.

Be safe. Take care.

How you doing IV, all good thanks mate, hope you are too.
I remember us doing it at VP some years back, so I think it is pretty much within the rules mate.
I am sure someone will probably know a bit more about it.
Take care my man.

Another player has the play the ball before the person taking the set piece can touch it again. A deflection off an opponent not conscious of the trajectory of the ball does not count.

Thank you Dave, yes it better here now.

Rknewell, yeah that is there for the set piece. However, I have seen that player can throw at opposition player and play can resume for throw ins.

A throw in is a set piece. The rule has been like this since I was reffing 17 years ago.
If a ref let someone get away with it then they were obviously a bad ref.
