Just when it seemed like we were getting a couple back. we should have enough cover to be fair, he’s had a few questionable games lately but he is a loss, hopefully Tim takes his chance with both hands

Initial assessment suggests that if it’s an ACL rupture which the consensus seems to be that if it is then he will be out for between 7-9 months but to get him back to where he was in terms of performance then it’s another 9 months so in effect we lose him for 18 months! . If Luiz goes in the summer which personally I think is likely we will need to re model the defensive pivot that sits in front of our back four, if that’s the case our transfer targets come the summer may need to change.

3 ACL's in a season can't be bad luck. My opinion is that it is the modern day pitches that are to blame. I know we all love seeing the perfect flat green surface for perfect football, but the make up of these pitches only encourages things like ACL injuries. The plastic fibres which the natural grass bonds to produces a solid mesh, which is the very reason you don't see big gouges out of the pitch anymore. Bearing that in mind and sharp turn or stop, there is no give in the pitch which means there is only one thing to give way and that a part of the human body be it ankle knee hip. With the improvement of playing surfaces I think footwear design neds to be re looked aqt again as there is an obvious flaw to the fancy ones currently being used. I remember back in the day on boot company had a design where the front 4 studs were on a round rotating disc. maybe there is something in that sort of system. Who knows
