Fenerbahce want Watkins on loan. How braindead do they think we are? Ollie might as well retire if he moved to Turkey.

Whackattack

1.) 02 Aug 2026 09:19:57
If he goes there on loan, maybe we should go for Osimhen from Galatasaray on loan. ?

UTV.

2.) 02 Aug 2026 11:41:16
Juve not much better. Constantly looking for first team players from other teams, but don’t want to hand over money for them. Sky report that they ended their pursuit of Martinez. I wouldn’t call what they were doing “pursuing”, more like begging and trying to unsettle our player. How the mighty have fallen.

I think back to the players they had when they were a powerhouse of football: Pavel Nedved, Alessandro Del Piero, Trezeguet, Edgar Davids, Thuram, Buffon, Zidane, the list is endless. Now they are the beggars of Europe, on your bike and don’t come back without your chequebook.

3.) 02 Aug 2026 14:05:15
My gut tells me Emi will go to Saudi & they'll probably pay what we want for him.

UTV.

4.) 02 Aug 2026 15:41:56
I think he sees out his contract, then goes to Saudi. I'd rather just keep him until his contract expires. Not worth a huge amount, and it costs a fortune to replace him.

Manzambi deal done, big fee... Exciting one though.

Whackattack

1.) 18 Jul 2026 00:01:21
I hope we did our due diligence and not base our decision purely on his WC performance, which, in fairness, was good, but countering that, he was virtually anonymous against us in the Europa League final. Most experts seem to think it's a good deal, so fair enough, but it's a sizeable fee for one so young and with no PL experience.

08 Jun 2026 03:42:10
Just read a ridiculous article about Martinez being sold to Juve for 5 million. Where do they get this rubbish?

Whackattack

1.) 08 Jun 2026 09:39:31
In other news, Tonali, Wharton and Anderson price tags are all 100 million, but Rogers apparently is 80 million...
Wharton, 1 goal, 5 assists.
Tonali, 1 goal, 5 assists.
Anderson, 4 goals, 5 assists.
Rogers, 13 goals, 11 assists.
Figure that one out.

2.) 08 Jun 2026 12:23:43
I know its a joke. Rodgers wont go for anything less than 110mil mil if he goes, that is. Im let listening to the press media, they talk alot of bs.

3.) 08 Jun 2026 18:18:32
The whole article on Martinez is rubbish. The salary he is supposedly on £230k is wrong, and although we do have certain SCR issues, by returning Sancho, Elliott, and Luiz we save circa £350k a week, and if the likes of Mings, Digne, Guessand, and Bailey leave, we will save a further £300-400k a week, so it's not the doom and gloom that certain media outlets are peddling.

4.) 08 Jun 2026 20:54:46
The SCR thing... reports Emi is on £230K & that's why we're ok with letting him go. Then we make a bid for Rashford who is on even more money, clown world. ?

UTV.

5.) 08 Jun 2026 22:17:56
Apparently Rashford has lowered his wage demands, and if we lose our 3 loan players that would more than cover Rashford's wage demands.

6.) 09 Jun 2026 00:50:48
Lotm, personally I don’t want to see Digne leave. Maatsen is a liability defensively, and we’re much weaker without him imo. The others I’m fine with leaving. As for Rashford, I think there’s younger players out there just as good as him. We qualified for the Champions League in 2 of the past 3 years, missing out the year that he was here.

On paper we had a weaker squad this year, but we got our business done, so I’m fine with signing him or not signing him. I don’t think he’s going to make or break us. We need younger players with resale value in my opinion.

7.) 09 Jun 2026 10:33:03
I like Rashford, he is a good player, proven in the Premiership, and what's more Emery can get a tune out of him. If, as reported, he is willing to take a significant drop in salary and is available at circa £25 million, I would take him, particularly as players like Rowe and other wingers we are being linked with are only available at £35 million plus and none of those have shown they can cut it in the PL.

03 Jun 2026 00:10:13
Karin Adeyemi now there’s a player I’d snap up asap, you know the drill with these rumours but apparently we’re monitoring his situation.

Whackattack

1.) 04 Jun 2026 00:32:44
Would be an amazing signing if we got him whack. Only thing is hes on 100thou a week, mate. I also see Unai wants only rumours thou, a cb, rb, 2 cms, 2 winger, and striker.

03 May 2026 20:54:40
If we finish in Champions League places and win the Europa League I hate Emery and still hope he leaves in the summer. Done with his tactics and boring football. We played entertaining football a handful of times this year and it’s not good enough. Champions League you're having a laugh.

Whackattack

1.) 03 May 2026 22:10:32
Well, if he does leave, let's review where we are at the end of next season, shall we. I do wonder whether we deserve an elite manager tbh.

2.) 04 May 2026 01:38:54
Elite managers don’t roll over like he did today. Elite managers don’t waste 100 million on the likes of Guessand, Maatsen, Malen, Abraham. Any elite manager I can think of would have changed it after 30 mins today.
The football we are playing most weeks is pure tripe, and if Spurs and Chelsea weren’t so bad we wouldn’t have a sniff of the Champions League. Same last year and the year before, United and Spurs so bad. I see people online trying to say he threw the game so Forrest would have to go full strength tomorrow, but I don’t believe it for a minute.

If he did, why would he risk Martinez with his injury problems this season, or Youri, or Cash, or Rogers? He thought we could defend a 0-0 and sneak a goal, like he’s been trying to do all season. Our football has gone down the toilet. 1 of the worst teams in the league to watch. We are a disgrace and only in the position we are because other teams are as bad as us.

3.) 04 May 2026 08:59:53
Google elite football managers and see whose name appears on the list.

4.) 04 May 2026 09:34:31
Whack, Malen wasn't a waste of money. Selling him was a huge mistake. Check his stats.
As for the rest, pathetic bunch of strikers.
LotM, you cannot seriously defend what we've seen over the last 3 games.

5.) 04 May 2026 10:25:24
I accept fully our performances over the last month or so have been poor, but they were at the start of the season and we then went on that fantastic run. Who's to say we won't again? So, throwing arguably the most talented coach we have had in the modern era under a bus is just plain nuts. If you look at the guy's record in the round, he took a club who were flirting with relegation to one that has got to a European semi final twice, as well as the quarter final of the Champions League, that against the backdrop of PSR restrictions.

He has improved every player in the squad, and this season he has had to deal with a centre forward whose performances have dipped, and an injury list that took out our first choice midfield for a couple of months. Unai has plenty of credit in the bank in my view.

6.) 04 May 2026 12:08:00
Unai used to be elite but isnt no more. He won a trophy in 9years. If we dont win Europa, I hope he steps dwn or owners decide to get a manager that can take us further and play attacking football, and that can find gems in the transfer window. The money Unai has had, his signings havent been great. Maatsen not guessand awfull. Tammy, average. Allyson hardly played. Pau Torres is decent CB. Diaby was hit n miss. Malen is good player, deserved more starts but was better wide.

Nedelcovic never got given a chance, same with Barrencha. Illing Jnr hasnt been given a chance aswell. Rodgers was a good signing and yt, and Id say Pau aswell. You look at the age of our squad aswell, future isnt bright. Unai cant nurture young talent, he only likes to sign players for the now mainly. Im not having it that none of our players from Academy, Reserves or U18s rnt good enough. Other managers in the league play there youth, we used to but dont no more. Its so annoying.

7.) 04 May 2026 12:36:50
He won Europa in 21-22, Jonny, but I do agree with a good bit of what you said. Yesterday was embarrassing. I thought the Wolves game was a new low, but this one takes the biscuit.
Hoddle was raving about how good Spurs played, but they didn't really. They started well, but they didn't create chance after chance for the whole game. Even if we had made more changes after 60 mins we'd of gotten more goals. Their keeper is pants, first shot on target was a goal.

The only thing that game yesterday did was breed confidence into a team we should be relegating and getting rid of them as competition for Europe and for signings. It also drained the confidence out of our guys, and it has split the supporters. Paying fans deserved more than that. Obviously, I watched it on tv, and you could see nothing but anger and disappointment on the faces of anyone the camera focused on.

I ask people this, if we hadn't gone down to 10 men would we have lost on Saturday? We dominated the first half, Forest started the second half strong, scored, could of had a second but we held out, got back in it with a goal, started to look like we were going to get a second when Maatsen was hacked down then we lost it.

my only gripe is Abraham coming on, played with 10 men from that point in my opinion, get Madjo back and we will be ok, the team will settle in time, half a season will be enough to keep us safe and Emery is the man to do it.

Jonny you're entitled to your opinion and that's ok, my advice give your opinion and leave it at that, there's no need to flood the page with the same opinion over and over, comment after comment.

When we do well, you don't push the positive with the same volume and that's what's bugging people. you actually disappeared last season twice when we turned it around with the win streak and towards the end of the season when we knew we were going to finish top 5 and into a final.

Er no, i didnt. It's called working away, Whack.

2.) 14 Sep 2026 12:34:24
Well said whack. We can all get frustrated with results and performances, but we've got one of the best managers around so keep the faith or go and support Bromsgrove lol.

3.) 14 Sep 2026 14:15:17
I agree whack when we equalised I felt we were most likely to win it, Mbaye was looking good on the ball and we started to look more confident but injury put pay to that and with 10 men it was only forest who were going to win.

Re Abraham I've been really disappointed since we signed him but this season he is non existent and will definitely be 3rd choice once Madjo is fit, bit worried in Europe though as he will only make up the numbers and give us nothing.

4.) 14 Sep 2026 15:20:23
Phones work in every country Jonny.

5.) 14 Sep 2026 16:22:59
Shew, I can see a striker coming in January.

6.) 14 Sep 2026 18:18:26
I think you could be right I'm sure we had one in the pipeline but Tammy deciding to stay scuppered it.

08 Sep 2026 18:39:57
That’s more like it, trust SJM to kick start us, Jackson looks like he’s getting up to speed with the system, the counter is on for him nearly every time, then a great ball by Torres to set him off, if Mings was playing that wouldn’t happen.
Hopefully we can grab another few goals and stay top of the league.

Hey Scot. Just referring to a post further down about THB being left out, I asked a question about who you would of left out instead of THB but it’s left unanswered. Not looking to debate your answer just interested in your opinion?

Whackattack

1.) 06 Sep 2026 22:16:41
Whack, firstly, I wouldn't have left Madjo and Elliss out. Reluctantly, I would have left Mings out. I like Mings, but he's not a £30million defender, and Garnacho, he looks like a mixture of Guessand and Bailey.

05 Sep 2026 19:07:48
Painful watching Mings and Barkley on the ball. They are constantly on the ball but can’t do anything with it, just same every time.

Whackattack

31 Aug 2026 22:36:54
At least we didn’t lose badly. Jackson looked decent. We just need to get our midfielders fit and integrated and we will hurt teams. Barkley, like a headless chicken on the ball, he’s not good enough anymore.

Whackattack

1.) 31 Aug 2026 23:35:08
Whack, agree. I thought Kamara hadn't looked himself over the last two games. Perhaps he is covering too much for the weakness we are showing in midfield. Get him back to his best and we will be back on track.

Getting beaten 4-0 was bad, but I'm so disappointed with Watkins, I don't even care about the result. End of an era for one of my favourite Villa players in my years of supporting. Could have left with an awesome legacy. Actually, hope Saudi don't raise their bid and he rots on the bench till January.

If he's so prime, why don't Chelsea want him, and why was Chelsea's defence so bad with him in it? Don't want anymore Chelsea rejects, bad enough signing Garnacho.

Definitely better than Nedelkovic though. It's the one position we will be genuinely stronger in. Might be a risky statement to make, but I think Suzuki might be stronger as well. I loved Martinez, and he makes some great saves, but he also makes plenty of mistakes and cost us big time in 2025 against United, followed up by his transfer antics ever since.

For me, it's a slightly hesitant good riddance.

Pretty much summed it all up there Dave. I know we will have a lot tougher games to play but Mbaye looks the part and looks like he should be in our best 11 at the moment. Bogarde going backwards since Christmas. anyone know why Bizot went off? Injured or is he just rubbish? At least we are back creating chances and getting shots on target, Tuesday, Saturday and today were a huge improvement on the first few games.
bellis had a good debut, can't see him get in ahead of victor just yet but he will be good for the future.
Don't know what's happening with Garnacho but I don't see a future for him at villa either a manager like Emery, I know it's a waste of wages but I really hope he gets no game time and we don't have to sign him, I really don't want him at our club I hope he's gone in January, I think we are well stocked for wide players with alysson, Mbaye, MaGinn, Buendia, Hemmings, and Manzambi can also play wide if needed, I just don't see what Garnacho brings, he was a flash in the pan, lots of players have had similar careers.

HEY another positive from tonight, we can't get united in the next round ? Brighton looking very good this season.

No manager would play them all, Jonny. You can't accommodate Garnacho, Hemmings, Mbaye, Manzambi and Alysson in the same 11, that's just suicide. Hemmings didn't have a great game today, but he has deserved his spot in the starting 11, whereas Abraham hasn't deserved anything; he's a complete no show every time he plays. Buendia was terrible. I'd have had him off at half time instead of Jackson.

As for talk of sacking, it's a bit premature. Hopefully Madjo is ready for the next game; at least he brings a focal point for our attack.
Personally, I think Emery took Jackson off not because he was worried he would get a second booking, but simply to punish him for his reaction on the pitch and picking up a needless booking, just to teach him a lesson, and it backfired in a big way.
