Seen on sky sports app today that Brighton are monitoring Bogarde as a replacement for baleba, would be a shame to lose him but if it meant not selling any first team stars for psr at the end of the season it wouldn't be to bad for the immediate future, that said I had seen him as a future replacement for kamara whenever he leaves, retires or whatever.
what's everyone's thoughts?
Rather keep him for the future?
Sell him?
If so how much?
Take into consideration that Brighton want 100 million for Baleba.

I’d keep him, apart from the fee they were suggesting being low (£25 million) his salary costs aren’t that high and his ability to play several positions are a plus. Having said the fee for Bogarde is too low that’s in the context of the £100 million Brighton want for Baleba.
He is a decent player but £100 million never, if he is worth £100 million what price Rogers?

That guy Enzo we got from juve is ripping it up on loan, reports are describing him as 1 of the best CM in Europe right now, bad news for us as reports state he's only a couple of appearances away from a permanent move for what's described as peanuts, looks like we might have lost out with him, the signs we there that he had quality but instead we paid 50 million for Onana, these are the things putting us under financial pressure, I hope the new guy has a good eye for talent and I hope these young players get game time or we are just wasting our time.

Here's a positive outlook for those disappointed with lack of signings.
If any premier league team signed Watkins Martinez and rogers it would be hailed as a brilliant window, same goes for us keeping them.

Totally agree.
I would also add that Watkins having a break to recover looks almost like a new signing going into the new season.

Come on villa wake up, lots of time to turn this around but we need more urgency. Watkins doesn't seem to know what to do when he has time in the box, great chance to make something and he just stands there and loses it. drives me mad, have a pop or play a pass but don't just stand there

One of the greatest wins I've ever witnessed, I was only a baby when we won the European Cup.
There's no limits to what we can achieve this season imo.

You know Dave I think if anything that bad start has only helped us, I think it’s galvanised the team, I think we learned a lot from those games and it’s made us hungry.
I hope we learned a bit from today also, the only real time we sat back over the 90 mins was after the restart and we got punished for it, we have the players to go toe to toe with any team in Europe and Emery seems to be squeezing every last drop from each individual

Late getting home from work missed the game apart from the last 10 mins, were we that bad in the second half?
Why do we always perform poorly against poor teams?
Second question, why is he bringing on Watkins when we're winning 2-0 if he's trying to manage a knock? Leads me to believe he has no injury and it's just down to poor form, I'm starting to wonder if there's some sort of personal issue going on in the background, top scorer for us 5 seasons on the trot but now there's double decker buses out there with a better first touch and better acceleration.
Lastly why do tnt keep putting Robbie savage on our games, glad I missed it and didn't have to listen to him for 2 hours.

I know arsenal are going well but there's an awful lot of hype over beating spursy at the emirates, you would expect them them, we beat them on their patch and not a sniff of the same attention. I can't see them getting back in the champions league under Frank, he is a decent manager but his football is more suited to a lower team.
Well done to Everton tonight, the table is one of the tightest I remember, I wonder will it stay like this for the season?

Daz you are 100% I was only thinking the same thing yesterday, it was a huge day for us and for a villa boy he was very blasé about it, yes it was only the conference league but it was a stepping stone and also an emotional day for most villa fans who went through the heartache of relegation. not saying he’s a bad lad but most of these football players are motivated by money and not glory like the old days

I hear what your saying Scot but it’s a 2 sided coin, if he hadn’t had those injuries and had 2 storming seasons instead and city or Liverpool etc came calling I wonder would he still want to stay at villa or would he do exactly what Delph or grealish done?
I wish him nothing but the best but no matter who he is or how long he’s being here he’s not more important than sustaining the upward trajectory we find ourselves in the past few years.

Assensio doesn’t make sense to me but I wouldn’t be overly surprised if it happened, we don’t see what Emery sees. who would you rather have back between Assensio luiz or grealish?

Good post Lotm, think we have our winger with the guy we signed the other day, we definitely need a striker, don’t know what has happened Watkins he works so hard off the ball then when he gets it he’s got no idea what to do, every other player we have will shoot when they get a chance except our striker, it’s mind boggling.
I can’t speak for anyone else but as soon as Roger’s got that ball today in the space he had I knew he was going to bury it, you can’t give him that much space and expect nothing to happen.
starting to worry about Bizot also, he looked very shaky today.
mediocre performance but enough to see them off, great result, great to keep up with the top 2 and keep the distance to those behind. I do expect a much better performance next weekend I think we will be well up for it!
and some of the teams close behind us are going to drop points so if we can win it will be huge in terms of top 4 credentials

To be honest last night looked like a preseason game and it’s kinda how Emery approached it, first half we had a mix of first team players and squad players then second half he took off the first team players and put on 5 different first teamers. I’m not reading to much into the performance it’s never going to be premier league standards when so many squad players are involved, to be honest I’d say if we had drawn last night Emery would of being happy enough considering all the changes and Bizot in goal.
agree on Sancho he’s not having a big impact like Rashford and Assensio did i'd be happy enough seeing him go back to United in January and try bring in a different loan player
