Saw a rumoured we're looking at Alvaro Dominguez; Spanish international defender currently at Monchengladbach. Can play in the centre and at left back if needed.

Bookies seeem to have us as odds on favourites to sign Gestede too. Has it been that long since we spent good money that we now just get linked with everyone?

Looks like Newcastle have just spent big on Aleksandar Mitrovic (subject to work permit). Given they were our closest competition for Charlie Austin's signature (according to the bookies odds, anyway), you can only hope we are now firmly in pole position. What do you reckon, Ed?

Reports seem to have him Anfield bound; shame if he is as he would be great at the Villa. Odds seem to have suddenly shortened on Townsend again. Hmmmmm

The odds suddenly shortened the other day; Norwich and Watford both considered more likely until then. Can't see us signing Berbatov as well now, surely?

I've only seen his name mentioned in a 'Great players available on a free' article. No mention of the Villa. More injury prone than 'Concrete' Ron these days, so I doubt there's anything in it.
