A wins a win in Europe away from home ask Man C Chelsea Arsenal how hard it is to win away in Europe and yet you all bang on about performance. I've said it before and I'll reiterate it. Embarrassing fan base, massively embarrassing. What do you want, 0-5 away from home. Some on here are just totally embarrassing!

Only English team to win all of the European competitions. ??

Only English team to win in all of the European competitions this week. Not bad for a team that should sack the manager and get rid of half the team, according to some on here. Just saying.

Agreed on all of the above. Obviously, the team are struggling, confidence is low, and with our style of play, when we don't win it can be a difficult watch. But the way some on here react to a bit of adversity is embarrassing. Imagine if our players were to throw their toys out of the pram, panic, and down tools, like some of our so-called fans.
We're not perfect, and I get the frustration with performances at times, but if anything we're overachieving and have been some time. Thankfully it's only the minority that are daft enough to want the manager out.

Ppl are doubting Emery because our form is shocking, and he's persistent in starting a striker that has scored 2 goals in 13 games.
Beating a very poor Lille side tonight does not cover over the cracks. We are all glad that we won tonight, but we won't win many Premier League games playing like that. Our record at home since January is proof of that.

I do get the frustration, and I share it at times when I see Watkins struggling, but I also appreciate that we had the exact same scenario at the start of the season when Emery persisted with Rogers and played him into form.
Other than that, though, he's really not gotten many options. Choosing between Sancho and Bailey on the wing is no choice at all at the moment, but he's done so well with what he has over 4 years that I just think people slamming him, and even questioning if he's the right man for the job, are going way too far.
I say it every season, don't get too low when we drop form, and don't get too high when we are in form.
If we're all being honest, with our squad, it's a miracle we're even contending for top 4 (again), but our expectations have been raised to such a level now that I don't think some are judging things on an accurate scale.
We can all have a debate on who should play and where, what would make the team better, etc, but the tendency of some on here to go overboard is just ridiculous at times.

He has those players in the squad simply because the players he has spent our limited budget on haven’t worked out, apart from Roger’s. We keep going back to this: oh, he doesn’t have the budget and all that jazz, but he has spent big on some players, and half of them leave because they can’t get starts. That lays with him. It’s either bad recruitment or poor man management. He has done great things, but he’s made plenty of mistakes at the same time.
People are genuinely worried over our form and his persistence to play Watkins when he has other options.
You all do realise that if we don’t get Champions League for next season we are in a really bad financial state and likely to do a Spurs next season, that’s the worry and that’s why we can’t afford to be sentimental. We’re proper screwed if we don’t get that 100 million for Champions League and there will be a clear out to boot with not enough incoming transfer fees to buy quality players. ppl are entitled to their opinion whether you agree or not. This page is for discussion on the club, players and manager; it’s not for putting down other posters.

So let's get real. By the end of this weekend we are probably going to be out of the top five. I say that because even with a full squad we would struggle to get a draw out of the game. I've always said Villa fans always back their team through good times and bad times (let's face it we have had more bad times). But the last 2 seasons things have slowly been changing, with our fan base. Expectations have gone through the roof. It appears some only back the team when we are winning, others seem only happy when we lose. Call me old school, but backing Aston Villa through bad times and good times is what makes me a Villa fan. So when we come to the next home game we need as supporters to get behind the team in their hour of need.
What I've seen at recent games is people almost wishing we are going to lose just to prove themselves right, moaning at team selections and players, and this is before we have even left the pub and not got to the game yet. I don't mean just people's opinions, we all have our own, but with some it is almost like a hatred of our club doing well. I'm not having a go at people on here, this is a forum for people to say what they think whether you agree or not. I'm on about at the games, get behind the team like we always used to. Win, lose, or draw, like it or lump it, this is Aston Villa Football Club. (rant over).
