Andros Townsend anyone? Him and AA swapping sides during the match, sell sure and get him in I say, if he is willing to drop down and potentially have to wait another year before returning to the Orem as it might be a big ask this year now.

Avfc_realist

1.) 30 Jan 2017 00:50:28
townsend usedt to be good now don't rate him

2.) 30 Jan 2017 09:48:02
Seems like Townsends hit a brick wall, couldn't perform for Newcastle last year and is failing in a team with Benteke in, how hard can it be just cross it an you'll get 10 assists a season minimum.

3.) 30 Jan 2017 13:00:49
Just reminds me of how milner was before he came to us, same sort of player who we could get playing again

4.) 30 Jan 2017 13:00:49

My Aunties sisters uncle who has a close contact at villa tells me the mystery man is a mystery! Apparently the mystery is 99% true. Lol lol

02 Jan 2017 11:44:26

3.) 02 Jan 2017 12:25:03
Sam Johnstone on loan.

4.) 02 Jan 2017 12:29:09
I hope so mate!
I think Ross, Rhodes and kodja are three great strikers, and we would easily cope with out either! .

5.) 02 Jan 2017 12:36:59
I think your right finch.

6.) 03 Jan 2017 19:03:21

Tony has hinted of a done deal sorely that's jedinak but in the same tweet that you can't keep someone if they don't want to be with us. Have i interpreted this wrong or is he about to go back on what he said about ayew?

Avfc_realist

1.) 14 Aug 2016 21:24:38
I'd say ayew at way he's playing seems like he don't want to be here.

2.) 15 Aug 2016 06:36:05
it's not jedinak guys it's diawara who is about to join.

23 May 2016 12:55:40
Moyes has ruled himself out of the job according to bbc sport.

Avfc_realist

1.) 23 May 2016 13:04:38
And if Di Matteo is off to an Italian club, that leaves only Pearson on the short-list. Someone shoot me now please.

2.) 23 May 2016 13:20:27
The Birmingham mail is purring with delight after it has been announced Moyes has ruled himself out. they love the psychological games they play with Villa Park! One Word, "Obsessed". In truth we don't need Moyes, i have serious doubts about his ability to promote us, he hasn't got recent championship experience and
has delusions of grandeur after his time at Man United! Pearson is the man no doubt about it, his team have just won the prem.

3.) 23 May 2016 13:21:59
once again moyes feels he can do better than villa. big mistake Mr moyes as we are on the up my friend and I feel in the future you will regret this choice. stop messing about now, give it to Pearson and let the man get on with it.

4.) 23 May 2016 14:28:10
Kingvilla - Please don't say Villa are 'on the up', that mnakes me think we're probably not ;)

On a more general note with regards to Moyes apparently puling out, nobody really has a clue what has happened. He may have been offered the job and said no. He may not have been offered the job but his agent wants people to think he was. We may have told him we're going with another candidate and this is just PR on his part. We don't know and probably never will.
Finally, the birmingham mail might be pretty poor in terms of reporting actual news and publishing quality content, but i think the conspiracy talk of them wanting Villa to fail and playing mind games with fans is a bit far fetched. Sounds like Gabby isn't the only one smoking the good stuff!

5.) 23 May 2016 16:08:56
DBS - the evening mail plays mind games with Villa fans without any shadow of s doubt ) You think Moyes agent plays games clearly so not a young writer!? They are always at it, tske a look at the articles through the day, some are embarrissingly obvious - 100%.

6.) 23 May 2016 16:16:19
There is no mention of a conspiracy that's your own mind getting carried away! There is absolutely no doubt that the evening mail is anti Villa though.

7.) 23 May 2016 16:29:10
I do agree with you about the nature of Moyes apparently ruling himself out though - that will be his agent and a little bit of Moyes own ego -to be fair though like you said nome of us know for sure!

8.) 23 May 2016 16:47:14
Fair play Devlin, everyone's entitled to their own view and if you have information that suggests Birmingham Mail are playing games with fans and are anti Villa i'm open to being proved wrong.

Didn't mean the conspiracy line as a personal dig at all, so apologies if it sounded that way - It's just that suggesting that a professional media organisation is 'purring with delight after it has been announced Moyes has ruled himself out' and 'love the psychological games they play with Villa' would normally be seen to be suggesting some level of vendetta or conspiracy against Villa fans. Like i said, I agree the content and 'news' they push are not up to scratch, but i'm pretty sure there are a few pro-villa voices there.

9.) 23 May 2016 18:05:46
Begs the question of where Moyes thinks he going to go that's better - back to Everton? I suspect the new owners are looking for a considerably bigger fish so I doubt it. I hope we're not considering Martinez just because he's kicking around without a job. Mind you, it might be better than Pearson.

10.) 23 May 2016 22:45:37
In secret i imagine Moyes doubts his ability to promote Villa even with cash to spend, because let's face facts its a very big ask to do it at the first attempt and if he failed it could be career over - where could he go from there? His decision is certainly more about fear than anything else, hence why he will seak premiership comfort zone naturally.

11.) 24 May 2016 09:24:56
So I can only think that Moyes will have to bide his time until the first Premier sacking of next season when he becomes the 'any port in a storm ' option. As far as I am aware, no-one else is looking for a Prem manager right now. Watford are sorted and I'm pretty sure Everton won't take him back. Unless Benitez goes, but I can't see Newcastle wanting him. Only left-field option would be in Pulis came to us and Moyes went to WBA.

It's not a nice thing to see us being 2-0 down, a positive in my eyes is the frustration snodgrass showed at being subbed! It just shows he cares and wants to be in the pitch to try and help, every cloud has a silver lining and all that.

Avfc_realist

1.) 04 Nov 2017 17:07:41
Well that burst the bubble, sucker punched in the first 20 seconds. snoddy not at all happy. The worrying thing is the injuries that we are picking up. Hopefully jt is not to badly spangled. pity we couln, t break through earlier the goal came far to late to pinch a draw. oh well on to the next one.

2.) 04 Nov 2017 17:33:40
Very disappointed with that display,
After the best display on Wednesday to back to hoof ball with no tempo at all,
Can not find any positives,
Losing Terry with a possible bad injury is another worry,
It we are now to rely on samba God help us,
Only plus point we are still in top 6 but there are loads of teams now bunched up behind us,

26 Aug 2017 11:53:48
After watching snodgrass' interview from yesterday, this guys came across and someone with a massive point to prove the whu he wasn't to prove he is quality and that he needed to be played in his position, he sounds like a guy with the fire in his heart to stick his middle finger up to whu managerial staff and prove them wrong. If he can recapture the fore that made them spend £10m+ he could well be the signing of the season for us.

I'm trying not to get carried away with it but I've wanted us to sign him for 2 years now and I really think he will be a fantastic addition for us.

Avfc_realist

1.) 26 Aug 2017 13:19:37
If Snodgrass can get the form he showed at Leeds and hull we will have a bargain.
Interesting to see how Bruce fits him in side now,

05 Aug 2017 17:38:14
1 down 7 to go, doesn't seem so crazy now does it?

Avfc_realist

01 Aug 2017 12:30:45
Does anyone know who the game behind closed doors is against? I was thinking could be someone like Notts county, close and a confidence boost before the weekend. Any inside info?

23 Jul 2017 12:52:20
Just goes to show how much of a threat hogan is when you play to his strengths, through balls in behind the defence and decent balls in to match his run off the defender from the wing, looked like the player we signed first half!

Avfc_realist

1.) 23 Jul 2017 13:03:43
Hogan always works the channels well but needs service to see the best of him,
Wish we could get his mate at Brentford woods,
He created so many chances for him there
Think Middlesbrough are after him for 3 million.

2.) 23 Jul 2017 13:15:57
Personally I don't think we need much more, we have the squad we just need to get them to gel and playing to each other's strengths, chopping the numbers is clearly a priority and then if a genuine quality becomes available we can take a look and see if it will improve us other than that I think we are ready for the challenge agead.

It's not the same ref, Andy Madley is the ref for tomorrow and the ref for the game (Bolton) dr t moaned about was Jeremy Simpson. Facts lads keep to them it's easy to check.

I've not posted in a while but tbh wtw no it's not a pop at Bruce but it does drag back in the negative thinking we are currently doing well as a team and moving in the right direction with positive vibes, surely as a fellow fan you would want to ride this wave of positivity as long as possible after the hellish year we have endured of late. As others have said let's worry about the Orem when we get there and enjoy our current form and not tarnish it with doubts about our managers prem credentials. Tell who asked you the question if they are a villa fan to get behind the lads and to not worry about tomorrow and enjoy today utv.

I raised this point when baker left that if we don't go up we need to hope samba and it don't retire and that they are still able to cut it physically, by the end of this season the money spent when garde was in charge becomes not an issue as it's outside the 3 years the ffp refers to, we will then have funds available.

No I wouldn't want to talk to him about what he can offer, the grass isn't always greener and all that. Not to mention the buzz word of the moment "stability" we are now starting to sign players that are proven and can add quality to the side and you want to upset the manager and start tapping other teams managers up.

Should we not be making other teams worry about us and assert outselves on a game early on and play a certain way and let them try to adapt to us, obviously every now and then we need to switch it up to stop becoming predictable, if we have the quality we all believe we have we should be able to over come teams parking the bus home or away so should just get at them from the off and play to our strengths instead of worrying about their strengths.

Can't stop the slide? As you said we are 2 games into the bloody season get a grip, 10 games in then we need to assess the squad, teams are an unknown in the league not to mention gelling so patience.

Your answer is in your reaponse, it's a new team! Give it chance to gel, a few new faces within the first team in critical areas, so patience is key, 10 games in we won't be sitting pretty at the top but look at our start to the season, arguably one of the hardest starts in the league, we drew with hull who smashed burton 4-1 yes burton are a lesser team in the division but in that showing if we had played burton instead of a Cardiff side on the up we would all be sat here saying how great we are and that promotion is on the cards, in all I say give it time, 10 games in if we have 5-10 point he will be sacked anything over 18 points is a good return and promotion is within reach no matter what points anyone else is on.

Sambas legs have gone I agree but the other two are fine, we have enough youth in the squad and to sacrifice a little extra pace for their experience is a no brainier imo.
