Are Chelsea after mings? Could batshuayi be offered plus cash for mings? There are reports they are after a cb from another prem club and sky Bet have dropped our odds on batshuayi coming to us. I may be putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 though. Injuries reoccurring with mings could be a good time to cash in whilst is value is sky high, if the medical staff think he will be plagued with injuries for his career would be a smart but unpopular move.

I'd be amazed if Villa would even consider selling our main centre back while we're battling relegation, unless silly money is offered.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has no interest in Mings and I have already explained about MB.}

Ed sometimes you have to tell a villa fan more than once.

Has anyone got inside info of when this meeting is supposed to be happening today? Am/ pm? I heard it was to be this morning, I would of thought soon after the meeting some sort of announcement either replacing Bruce or giving a vote of confidence would be released. Anyone heard what time the meeting started and how long it was scheduled for.

Avfc_realist

1.) 25 Jul 2018 16:37:00
Meeting has finished. Announcement later today.

2.) 25 Jul 2018 17:33:05
When will we found out anything?

18 Jul 2018 11:34:28
I'm hearing from a friend who has connections at spurs that the deal for freakish has been agreed over a week ago for £15 not sure if that's just initial up front fee with add ins or a player coningbthe other way but what they did say was it's not gone through yet because levy doesn't want to pay his wages until he has to but they want him on the US tour so expect it to be announced by friday.

1.) 18 Jul 2018 13:18:52
Well it now looks odds on grealish will be gone over week-end,
Hope the dr is well satisfied on bringing in more dosh for his coffers to keep us going for a few more months,
This is a absolutely horrible feeling for us fans to see our best player going to spurs for a very low transfer fee,
Levy will wring us dry to get the best deal for them which is there right,
But where will we end now when the likes of Thor, Jedi, Chester, adomah, all leave?

Never have I felt so sick of my club and owner,
Will he sell?
Or will he just send us into administration and possibly into div 1?
Just a very pissed off villa fan with nothing to look forward too unless!

2.) 19 Jul 2018 10:37:56
No fee is up front on that scale.

Taking the figure of 15 million as an example, there would be a deposit of 10-20% and the rest will be paid over 2-5 years.

Transfer fees are almost never paid in one single lump sum.

3.) 19 Jul 2018 17:10:39
Agree don't fat Dave that they are never under normal circumstances paid upfront but take out situation into account and the true value of freakish and this can happen as spurs are not short of money and we need the money now not in 2-5 years.

Hugo rodallega by the looks of us on his way, liked him a few years back and thought we should of got him then.

Andros Townsend anyone? Him and AA swapping sides during the match, sell sure and get him in I say, if he is willing to drop down and potentially have to wait another year before returning to the Orem as it might be a big ask this year now.

1.) 30 Jan 2017 00:50:28
townsend usedt to be good now don't rate him

2.) 30 Jan 2017 09:48:02
Seems like Townsends hit a brick wall, couldn't perform for Newcastle last year and is failing in a team with Benteke in, how hard can it be just cross it an you'll get 10 assists a season minimum.

3.) 30 Jan 2017 13:00:49
Just reminds me of how milner was before he came to us, same sort of player who we could get playing again

I must admit I love the early signs of us having Carlisle as a regular place our younger players to head for first team experience. The latest player going out there on a 2 week test period to see if it works for them and the player shows the great relationship being built. Hopefully this will become a process all our best young players go through within their progress to our first team.

Priestley's son being on our books helps .
Onwards&Upwards Villaforever.

2.) 13 Jul 2019 09:10:20
This is only the second player to go out there isn’t it?

Knock down the north stand re build it this season and open the upper tier of the trinity to get the numbers in. Sponsor the stand calling it the (new owners company name) stand and the FFP should be gone and we do something the club moving forward need if we are to go compete at the top.

So the EFL have already accepted the financial transaction to the club from the two investors, now how much do they both own? Hypothetically if they invested the same as dr t between them or just over that making them majority share holders between them leaving room to buy the rest of the shares off dr t at a later date. My question is would this cover the FFP or would we need to generate money from somewhere else say naming rights to villa park? Would this balance the FFP of the investment doesn't?

Avfc_realist

1.) 20 Jul 2018 17:51:57
They will need to sponsor the stadium or something to sort ffp. They could have 100 billion and it still don't count to ffp.

It's not a nice thing to see us being 2-0 down, a positive in my eyes is the frustration snodgrass showed at being subbed! It just shows he cares and wants to be in the pitch to try and help, every cloud has a silver lining and all that.

Avfc_realist

1.) 04 Nov 2017 17:07:41
Well that burst the bubble, sucker punched in the first 20 seconds. snoddy not at all happy. The worrying thing is the injuries that we are picking up. Hopefully jt is not to badly spangled. pity we couln, t break through earlier the goal came far to late to pinch a draw. oh well on to the next one.

2.) 04 Nov 2017 17:33:40
Very disappointed with that display,
After the best display on Wednesday to back to hoof ball with no tempo at all,
Can not find any positives,
Losing Terry with a possible bad injury is another worry,
It we are now to rely on samba God help us,
Only plus point we are still in top 6 but there are loads of teams now bunched up behind us,

I think you re missing the point being made Ed002, we totally understand the interest from city. What we are saying is that the whole story is being hyped up by agents/ papers. Agents commission being their incentive and papers incentive being click bait/ paper sales. Effectively its both the interest and the media circus making it a big thing.

Avfc_realist

{Ed002's Note - it is not being hyped by agents or anyone else. It is no difference to any other transfer.}

Having a clear out is not going to help anyone, what we need is to build on the squad by buying players that will improve the squad and push out current fringe players like Jota. It's a case of buy better players to start and current starters become squad players, el ghazi and trez and samatta replaced for instance.

Players and managers are all still away on holiday so don't expect much to happen soon, another week or two is when I believe it will all start to happen, I expect mings and hause to be first then the new faces will be targeted.

From what I understand we tried to get a price for Mings before the loan but Bournemouth refused to settle on a price. we then came away with a matching option meaning we could have first choice if we wanted him. Effectively the best option available to us from Bournemouth.

I agree about kodjia I would be happy to sell him now if possible, not sure what we would get for him but reinvesting in a winger would be my choice.

No easy games in the championship and the premiership will be the same, we will get trounced a few times but it's how we bounce back that matters. As you say a few points early doors will help massively later on.

agree with you here DJC players on the fringe tend to want to drop to a lower team to get the game time to get that starting place. rose or chilwell at lb for England for instance rose could be open to a move to get the starting place he needs as chilwell is playing every week.

sending green out on loan to a mid table championship side next season could benefit us, crazy thought but how about throwing him in on loan for the season in any benrahma deal, instantly replacing a player they have lost would surely sweeten any deal.
