Absolutely dreadful half of football from Villa.
I am getting that Deja vu feeling again.
All the promise, and here we go again.
Just not good enough when it matters.

Different opposition, different competition but these are not encouraging signs that I'm seeing.

It appears to me that players are not wanting to risk injury before Thursday. The exact opposite of Forest last night.
So far, so meh.

Forrest really finding some form and scoring for fun. Hopefully we can put a stop to them.

Indeed, not a comfortable watch at all.
Very nervous about the Semi-Final.

Well it looks like Chelsea gonna sack their manager. It shows that having sum1 that controls the club like Unai does is a good model. I know i have doubted him but i know hes a wclass manager. No other manager could do wot hes done at Villa, not even Pep or Klopp. I just hope we win Europa League. We are lucky we have him.

Fair play, VJ. Welcome to the enlightened. Glad you are seeing how lucky we are to have him.

Hallelujah.
Now perhaps VJ, you might just keep the faith and see the bigger picture.

Any self-respecting manager should think twice about taking the Chelsea job. It takes a long time for a manager to build a reputation, and 5 minutes to lose it. Unai Emery, amongst many others, knows that.

Watch out for Brighton, it's in our own hands. Let's not let it slip.
22 Apr 2026 14:24:09
5 games left, 2 wins and it's in the bag, preferably the next 2 games and we can concentrate on the Europa, fingers crossed. UTV.

Looking at the Chelsea line up they appear to have given up on the Premier League. They are saving it for the FA Cup with tonight's team selection. Who is going to slow Brighton down?
21 Apr 2026 21:49:59
Watched the game, and Chelsea were shocking. They should have been at least 3 down at half time. In terms of Brighton, they go to Newcastle next, and still have Utd to play, neither are easy games. Anyway, should we beat Spurs and Burnley, then we are home and hosed, and that shouldn't be beyond us.
21 Apr 2026 18:42:41
It's ironic, we have all being hoping Chelsea lose every game, look at the table and if the in form Brighton win they get closer to us and a real worry, if they win tonight and go above Chelsea, the only result that suits up is a draw. Can't believe we actually don't want Chelsea to lose tonight.
21 Apr 2026 22:21:41
Are you guys worried about Brighton? We're 8 points ahead with a game in hand and we're not exactly in a bad run of form. Personally, I hope Chelsea keep losing and don't get any kind of European football next season.
22 Apr 2026 00:59:47
In short, no... but I hope that doesn't come back to bite me haha. We could be having the same conversation about Brentford or Bournemouth in theory - they'd be a point closer to us than Brighton if they both win their game in hand... but, looking at the fixtures, I can't see any of them winning all their games, so 4 points will probably be enough to confirm Champions League next year.
I can see Spurs getting a few points soon, but with them, Fulham and Burnley to play, we should hopefully get over the line before we play Liverpool and City, which would be a great position to be in, especially if we're fortunate enough to have a final to prepare for too....
22 Apr 2026 14:26:42
To be fair to Brighton, they deserve some kind of European football after what they have done over the last 5 or 6 years. Bournemouth, too, in fairness, and Brentford to a lesser degree.

The North Stand is going to be closed for the entire season next year.
After previously changing plans because it meant a drop in revenue during a CL season, it looks like the club has bitten the bullet.
Capacity c37,000.
21 Apr 2026 13:26:34
If we're going to qualify for Europe every year, we may as well take the hit now and then benefit from the increased capacity and revenue sooner.
21 Apr 2026 22:23:19
Better to lose revenue next season with Champions League money than possibly the season with no European football guaranteed imo, good news in my book.
