Which squad did you guys prefer
Martin o neills or the current squad,
I loved the o neill squad with how quick we were on the break Ashley Youn out wide Gabby and carew, Milner and downing,
I like the current squad but we do lack pace at times

Its interesting you pose this question Irishvillain Andy Townsend has just published his dream Villa XI which is a 4-3-3 formation: Bosnich, Gidman, McGrath, Evans, Staunton at the back Barry, Cowans, and Grealish in the middle and Gray, Yorke, and Morley as the front three.

A good team, but for me though I’d go 4-4-2 with Martinez instead of Bozzy maybe a little controversially I’d have Mortimer in for Barry and Young for Morley but so many permutations to pick from and some really good players who don’t make the cut but at the end of the day it’s all about opinions and what you like🤷🏻‍♂️

Troy Deeney in the Mail, comparing the noses manager to Arteta, now I know he comes with a biased opinion, but they make you laugh don't they UTV

Quote from a knowledgeable BBC sport journalist."While PSR may be limiting the club's ability to spend, tying down the core of the squad is arguably more important than signing the next £100m player".

Couldn't agree more. We obviously would benefit from upgrades in certain positions but keeping the core of this squad together is invaluable.as is keeping our manager, regardless of the inevitable panic next time we hit a bit of poor form.

My lad was saying about an article he was reading, by a renowned sports analyst. He's been doing a study of Pep, he says about how Pep has this season, changed his style and way of playing .

He says this season his team are now playing out from the back and very much copying, Emerys style of playing . He has stated before how he respects Emery, so what's your thoughts on that one? UTV

I don't see what the big issue is with the Liverpool disallowed goal yesterday? Robertson was in an offside position, no matter what people say the fact that he's there is a distraction for the keeper, slot says he ducked out of the way, so therefore admiting he was in the way in the first place otherwise why would he have to duck out of the way, every team in the league has had goals disallowed for the exact same reason, a memorable one that maginn had against arsenal a few seasons ago sticks in my mind, I think every Liverpool fan has to admit that they have benefitted more than most teams from var decisions since its introduction, if Robertson was switched on properly he would of had himself onside like all the other players.

I'm not looking to get a dig in at Liverpool I would rather see them win the league over arsenal city or Chelsea. I didn't see the game just the highlights, I did see clips of VVD sarcastically clapping the ref, was he booked for that or was he let away with it?

{Ed001's Note - it's because the exact same referee allowed an almost carbon copy goal for Man City against Wolves. That is why it has upset people. One rule for City.....}

I seen that being mentioned but wasn’t it the linesman that flagged offside and VAR agreed? Was the ref sent to the monitor?

International break again, wish it came after our next couple of games, everyone's mojo is back, sadly most of our squad don't get a rest, hopefully they all come back fit and raring to go again. Confidence is an amazing thing and it's sky high at the moment let's hope we are up and competing at the European levels again.

Hopefully Ollie benefits from not going with England and if he does have a niggle it clears up
