Any more long term injuries to key players eg Konsa, Onana, Dougie and even Barkley we haven't got the quality in the squad to cope. It's definitely significantly impacted on our champions league ambitions. To lose our three midfielders us such a significant blow, we looked like a very average premier league side yesterday and our injuries have crippled us.
Obviously nobodies fault and Emery is a master tactician, unfortunately I doubt even he can' work miracles with what he currently has. Hope I'm I am miles of the mark, however, there is definitely a problem.

Football is dead, VAR has killed the game. Would the same decision have happened to Man City or Utd I doubt it.
Everything has been stacked against us but we hung on in there and I now think squad depth is starting to hurt us and prevent us progressing into top 5.
PSR doesn't seem to affect the big boys no matter how much debt they are in yet we have no debt but can't spend.
PREMIER LEAGUE CORRUPT AS F@@@
02 Feb 2026 13:30:35
Hi Shew, don't know if you watched the Man Utd v Fulham game? Utd given a pen which never was, VAR ruled no penalty but then decided to re referee the game by giving a free kick outside the box. United scored of course.
The Villa game the same, the guy running the line gave nothing the ref gave nothing but then VAR decided they were the Ref and without 100% proof ruled it out.
Perhaps we don't need the old fashioned linesmen, they don't give offsides, they now can't make decisions on throw ins.
The authorities won't be happy until the top six are the top six again.
I don't suppose we will hear about the case against Man City any time soon.
Rant over.
02 Feb 2026 13:31:31
Corrupt, they certainly are, makes me laugh how they refuse to give us decisions, the apologise a couple of weeks later . Said before they just can’t accept Villa breaking into the top 4 . Results like Everton and yesterday are the only times we get mentioned on Sky, because obviously Villa are falling apart .
Mr Murphy on MotD got me mad last night, he hates Villa, but to accuse Cash of over reacting, was a joke .UTV

In fairness City didn’t get the decision on Spurs first goal when Solanke kicked through Gueye’s foot but the goal was allowed to stand if it had been the other way round VAR would have given a penalty all day long so I don’t think it’s just us but it’s the alarmingly lack of consistency that frustrates you, something which VAR was intended to address.

So the boss says our transfer window is done, opinions on the business we done?
I'll probably still check the sports app 20 times tomorrow to be sure 🤣

Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool seem to have the momentum, Man City and Arsenal appear to be pretty much certs. Five champions league places available, are we able to fend one of the three I start with. Not with our injuries, I genuinely think it's a tall order. Next four games could well determine the final outcome, fingers crossed we aren't the team to miss out🤞🤞🤞
02 Feb 2026 10:42:08
I said 2 weeks ago that we were about to enter a season defining period, 7 games in 23 days and with the injuries we've suffered it's obvious our momentum has slowed down.
Yesterday's game was as frustrating as the previous home league game and we bounced back. I think it's going to be a bumpy road for the next 4 weeks.

We've all seen the adverts, get involved in the corporate experience, with an Elite Premier league club HaHa . Once again, people running around the car park trying to get a signal for their tickets . For the third game running, struggling to get any hot water for a Coffee . Then for the second half, I had to sit with my hood up, because of rain pouring through the roof . Now I know the corporate is very important, but please give a mind to the poor riffraff who turn up every week .
END OF RANT FOR TODAY, THANK YOU HaHa UTV

The curse of 10 men, 27 shots, 17 from in the box . Dougie play better than I thought he would, actually looked like he'd never been away. Not one of Rogers better days, Sancho did a lot of nice footwork, but no end product . Tammy good first game, will only get better, took his goal really well .
That VAR was an utter joke, just how far are they allowed to take it back, brings up the conspiracy theme again, where they are desperate to stop us . With Dougie being so good at corners, ant the height we have, can't see so many where short . UTV
01 Feb 2026 21:28:43
That ball over the line can’t of been that certain, that was the longest decision by VAR ever .when it was described as factually out, it makes you wonder, my lads just shown me shots from a Dutch TV crew, two shots, one shows it out, one shows it in by not being all over the line . The whole things a rubbish show UTV
02 Feb 2026 11:33:59
It was a clear and obvious error, if it was against Arsenal, Utd, Chelski….

If you are not 100% certain you just guess, that appears to be what VAR does, totally corrupt. If not 100% sure you should go with the onfield decision, but I didn't think the job of VAR was to check throw ins.
01 Feb 2026 16:20:13
Well if we ever were in the title race we aren't now, injuries have killed us. Without Tielemans pulling the strings in the middle of the park we huffed and puffed but created very little in terms of clear cut chances and as Chelsea and Utd are on a run of form we couldn't be stuttering at a worse time. With 45 minutes against 10 men you should be able to break them down but although we moved them about it wasn't at pace and the defence were able to reset time and again. The only time we switched play really well was when Elliott played Bailey in in injury time and he fired over. I don't understand why we played so many short corners when we know Luiz delivery into the box is first class.
In terms of the performance I thought Luiz looked good, as did Bailey when he came on the rest were distinctly average. Abraham was ok first half but disappeared entirely in the second I almost forgot he was on the pitch.
Anyway what's done is done on we go to the next one. UTV.

Pretty good and fair assessment LOTM. personally I was worried with Bogard starting in the middle and I wasn’t wrong we had no control in midfield in the first half.
the lack of substitutes used is baffling me though, we had 100% control and no actual need for 2 center backs who looked lost for ideas with what to do when standing on the ball, we needed to win so get all your creative players on the pitch
01 Feb 2026 20:38:08
Whack, what's the saying of stupidity, doing the same thing over and over and getting the same result. Our attack down the left for the umpteen time failed miserably.Remember when teams needed a goal and the attacking plan wasn't working, high ball on the penalty spot and pick up the scraps. Onana Mings and Tammy all big tall guys why on earth didn't Emery change things and the short corners all also failed miserably.
Self inflicted defeat and not for the first time Torres failed to clear the ball leading to the goal. Two home league defeats against inferior teams and as teams now how to play against our predictable style unfortunately they won't be the last. Of course injuries have crippled us but against ten men with all that amount of possession it's extremely disappointing.
01 Feb 2026 15:21:16
I've said it before I'll say it again the sooner we f*** officials and VAR off, the better they will soon get to replaying the whole of the game before a goal is scored to find a reason to disallow a goal they are taking all the joy out of the game.
01 Feb 2026 16:04:49
I agree took way to long but the ball was out
01 Feb 2026 16:09:37
I will always say that VAR is only right if it can be used for any error, not just specific circumstances.
If they can chalk that goal off, why could we not get a corner when they wrongly gave a goal kick towards the end? That was a factual decision so why can VAR not touch that one when giving them more chance to time timewaste gives them an advantage?
01 Feb 2026 16:16:28
It wouldn’t bother me if there was pictures to show it over the line but there was zero proof to rule out a massive goal in the title race, it’s a joke.
title challenge is well and truly done at this point, hopefully we c as n pick ourselves up and hold onto champions league place.
It baffles me a bit why Onana and Digne didn’t get a chance for the last 20 mins when we needed height in the box and Digne deliveries 🤷♂️are they carrying knocks possibly?
If not I see it as poor decisions from the boss.
well and truly gutted after the last 2 home games, obviously we are missing players and it’s going to hurt us but we had no plan B today and it was just the s as me thing over and over and over, very disappointing
01 Feb 2026 16:42:57
Tom did you see a definitive picture of the ball out? I agree it looked out but VAR wasn’t introduced for opinions it was introduced for clear and obvious errors and if there isn’t a picture from above or in line with the sideline then it’s not clear and obvious.
the best one for me was “the closest Brentford player called it as out so it probably was” if we are relying on players to call decisions against their own team the sport is well and truly finished
01 Feb 2026 16:46:33
Agree about no plan B. Had more than enough possession but not enough guile to change our method of attack.
Extremely disappointing and frustrating in equal measures.
Oh well, we go again. UTV
01 Feb 2026 17:45:26
It was 19 seconds between when the ball went out and the ball hitting the back of the net. Are we still in the first phase of play? I don’t know but you do have to ask how far back can the officials go back it is really frustrating. I hope refereeing decisions dot cost us European qualification yet again
01 Feb 2026 15:19:24
Where's the pictures to prove the ball went out and was a clear and obvious error?
