McCormack dropped for missing training and fitness is poor. Jeez it's taken til now for the club to see he's not fit!
Not the first time he's missed training either!
£12m and that's what you get! It's obvious he wants out.
DISGRACE!

Faulty gates . really!

2.) 21 Jan 2017 23:13:08
It happens to me all the time. bloody gates!

I thought he was getting a raw deal but with that lot going on seems we need to get rid!

I won't be surprised if the Rhodes deal is still being worked on in the background and gets completed mid week. unsure if he is the answer but got to be better than what we currently have!

And fingers crossed his gates are serviced regularly!

3.) 21 Jan 2017 23:23:05
What a clown, and we thought gabbys attitude was bad

4.) 22 Jan 2017 00:23:29
Do you think he'd have been able to get over the obstacle of those pesky gates had he been told the bank wasn't working and he'd have to collect his wages from the training ground in cash?

5.) 22 Jan 2017 10:07:44
Tbf I can now see why he couldn't, the fence was 4 foot 6, but he has been caught smashed out his tree the night before a game recently so he probably couldn't risk it as he was trollied and may have fell off. Plus the fact his about 17 stone the fence would of crumbled under him, stay home Ross, stay safe.

6.) 22 Jan 2017 15:05:23
There could be more to this story about mcorkmack,
Fans can jump in to easlly and Slag off the players,
Wait and see before judging a human being,

7.) 22 Jan 2017 16:22:23
Main bob he is a professional footballer paid thousands a week to perform and score goals he is a over weight swamp donkey and you think as fans we don't have the right too say how we feel we pay his wages after all if he does have problems off the field then he shouldn't be chosen which what happened yesterday hope I've cleared it up for you

8.) 22 Jan 2017 16:31:02
This site is really going to work well if we wait and see
Either the story is true or Bruce is a liar. If someone lied about me publicly and I had the kind of access to the media that footballers have, I would be putting my side of the story out ASAP
Generally speaking I agree with your sentiment Bob. But in this case it all seems pretty straight forward, if a little bizarre.

9.) 23 Jan 2017 07:25:18
Really hate people that say "we pay their wages we can say what we want" I pay the wages of people at Tesco because I shop there doesn't mean I can go down and call the person that works behind the till fat and lazy.

10.) 23 Jan 2017 10:29:00
I agree ruggerz, no way should someone on 30k a week be expected to do their job and no way should the people who pay to watch said person be able to criticise him when he doesn't do his job. Everyone leave ROSS alone! The fat lazy gnome.

11 Sep 2016 14:41:06
That just about sums it up! Can you feel the pressure building RDM? Call it as I see it and this is no better than last season! 1st away goal for Forest this season! We really are a laughing stock.

Villafanatic

1.) 11 Sep 2016 15:16:53
We have no midfield end of, any one who can defend Westwood or Gardner knows nothing about football.

2.) 11 Sep 2016 15:26:11
26 shots, 8 on target and we hit the post twice. Laughing stock is a bit harsh.

3.) 11 Sep 2016 15:59:32
One toe poke from 30 yards that makes Bunn think he can't jump and the ball falling to someone luckily in the box and all of a sudden were a laughing stock. Behave yourself. Gardner made mistakes but 9/ 10 got the ball back straight away, he was starting attacks (actually passing forward) and getting up to support. Westwood was neat in possession and helped the back 4, they can't be that bad when their in a team that's created 26 shooting oppertunities, everyone's frustrated but don't look for a scape goat, we have to take our chances simple as that.

4.) 11 Sep 2016 18:26:37
Westwood is, and always has been a mediocre Division 1/ Championship player. Gardener, so far this season has been just as poor. He doesn't create or defend well. That is why he keeps getting substituted by RDM.
Tshibola looks a really good prospect but I feel it would be a bit unwise to place too much responsibility on his young shoulders at the moment. Jedinak we've not really seen yet.
IMO the only problem we have ATM is the quality of our centre midfield.
N÷'s to be sorted . Fast.

5.) 11 Sep 2016 22:20:25
I was at the game and agree about Westwood. Time and time again he passed sideways and backwards then for their equaliser he allowed the runner to burst thtough. i'm also a bit worried about our back two in particular Chester, because let's face it Forest had 3 attempts on goal and scored 2! However to say we are a laughing stock is a little silly, we had 26 shots on goal, hit the woodwork twice, scored twice and absolutely dominated the game! If we look at our mistakes and tighten up we will shoot up the table, but it needs to happen asap not in a few games time!

6.) 12 Sep 2016 00:54:58
Basically we was robbed by bit of luck and a stunning opener, De Laet IMO 1st half was nervous and showed it, 2nd half improved a bit, I agree we need to sort out midfield and steel it up but attacking wise we will start ripping teams apart, Kodjia was great Ayew best game this season could do with a birthday every game by the looks but RDM should of brought on Jedniak after we took lead and closed out the game, so a few moments of luck for forest but overall we dominated and was unlucky.

7.) 12 Sep 2016 09:45:30
Watched the highlights and sorry andyPF but watch it back, the only midfielder to make a forward pass into dangerous positions and then make them self an option was Gardner, made mistakes but get of the boys back and stop picking the easy option. He was subbed because we was 1-0 because the defence didn't close down their man and Bunn made a mistake, we was bringing on a striker and out of Westwood and Gardner we needed to keep the more defensive player on aka Westwood. We can't keep gifting teams points with mistakes but the way your talking the midfield will never be good enough we may aswell give up now, and there's still 120 points to play for!

8.) 12 Sep 2016 14:13:37
All we are doing is expressing our opinions.
What I said about Westwood and Gardener I fully stand by.
That is that Westwood has never been or ever will be quite good enough if we are to seriously challenge for promotion.
As far a Gardener is concerned I'm not picking on him. He's an easy option at the moment yes, because so far this season he's been nowhere near good enough. He's been substituted in every game that he's started I think. Certainly 2 or 3 times. Stand to be corrected.
I really hope he comes good. He's a Villa boy of 24 years as opposed to my 60! .

9.) 12 Sep 2016 17:29:35
Totally agree Andy.

10.) 12 Sep 2016 20:23:07
Fair point all opinions! I just appreciated his desire to atone for his errors and move the ball forward into attacking positions, much prefer him than Westwood yesterday.

11.) 13 Sep 2016 22:37:44
Neither of them are good enough for this team, i was sat in the Doug Ellis stand on the half way line quite high up and from there it was plain to see there was a gap in the middle! With stronger guys in there we would have ripped Forest to shreds, we dominated as it was. I predict we will beat someone 6- 0 soon.

For those who thought it couldn't get any worse.
1.30pm SKY Sports News: Gus Poyet is on the shortlist for vacant Villa manager's job.
He might not get the job but for Villa to be even considering him is beyond belief. Next it will be Advocaat!

Villafanatic

1.) 26 Oct 2015 14:33:51
Calm down everybody, nearly every manager out there is going to be mentioned for the Villa job.
It was the same with players, journalism and speculation will always take a hold in situations like this.

28 Aug 2015 18:03:31
Lescott deal seems to be done pending Jonny Evans move to Baggies.
Also according to BBC Rolling Transfer page Villa's net spend so far this window is £7.1m. 5th lowest. I guess Mr Lerner could have banked the money from CB and Snake sales though instead of passing it on to TS.

Villafanatic

1.) 28 Aug 2015 19:06:00
Hope lescot deal is done, need experience, command and a bit of quality, forget goal celebrations etc etc but baggies business is worse than letting us get lescot, regards net spend who cares apart from ayew looks struggling to adapt the rest of signings look very good, don't forget the out lay for Big Ben and a**hole snake is a nice word,I'm sure it was 9.5 Delph and 7/8 Ben so RL and let's think not just last 3 seasons the whole time since been owner that guy spent in 2yrs MON was in charge around 150 mil I think, plus messy divorce where his ex took half his earnings,he has done us proud this year :)

2.) 28 Aug 2015 19:38:21
Yes we have spent money and the team looks stronger; but what worries me is that the other teams predicted for relegation have not sold their best players and their net spends are a lot higher than ours. Hopefully more then just Lescott comes in this weekend.

3.) 28 Aug 2015 20:19:15
Why aren't we signing Evans and leaving lescott where he is???

4.) 28 Aug 2015 23:02:01
Because Evans is S**t!

5.) 28 Aug 2015 23:02:46
Because we need some experience at the back; Lescott is a better player than Evans and he is costing about 4-5 million quid less
Sounds like a good deal to me.

6.) 28 Aug 2015 23:24:24
8 million for Evans is a joke - I would be mortified if we had paid that for him.

7.) 28 Aug 2015 23:46:18
We sold best 2 players already, there's still few days to go window,Sunderland IMO is a cert for relegation,Baggies hope they get Evans and lose Barrahino, lescot to us they will be weaker by far,few days left to see which team become weaker losing there best, least we lost ours early had time scout etc etc,it's early days and some stupid decisions on pitch but 2 points dropped at palace and we was wrote off at Bournemouth,no doubt Man Utd home aswell!! So let's smash Sunderland weekend which we will as long as TS doesn't field 10 men inc Gabby, needs dropping then we win

11 Aug 2015 16:53:57
Don't get too excited just yet about Traore. According to latest reports Liverpool are set to gazump Villa's bid.

Villafanatic

1.) 11 Aug 2015 18:31:43
You don't "Gazump" buy out clauses

2.) 11 Aug 2015 23:13:12
No, you can "gazump" the offer made to the player though. Petty.

3.) 12 Aug 2015 08:30:21
I agree can't see this transfer happening, i think all the media talk about us being interested is a ploy by players agent to give liverpool a kick that if they don't sign him up quickly someone else will.

Well that was fun.
What worries me the most is the style of football.
Starting from the back. How many times did the Boro keeper kick the ball from hand or just clear the ball 50 or 60 yds to no one?
Twice? In the whole 90 minutes.
Boro played it out from the back time and time again maintaining possession and going forward.
Every time Steer had the ball every Villa player turned his back on him and 40 yards upfield. Ball duly hoofed up field where a grateful boro controlled it and then passed us to death.
Not blaming Steer. It must be what they're coached.
Bruce is to blame.
Do boro have better players than us? Of course not. It's coaching that is the key.
If by some miracle we did get promoted this season Bruce's style would have us in the bottom 3 or 4 again. Look at his record.
Time for a beer. oh no, I'm going dry for January. damn it!

Disappointed with the impact all of Bruces signings have made this season.
I know making 7 signings in January it takes time for players to settle in but none of them have shown anything like what we would have hoped. I fear another tough year next season too.
Can't see anything to be excited about for the near future.

Villafanatic

1.) 17 Apr 2017 17:21:09
See who we buy in the transfer window. Also who will be staying with us and who will be leaving.

17 Apr 2017 15:48:19
This performance today and the one on Saturday is no worse than any in games we've scraped a win in. We're not playing well and haven't for 90% of the season.
Don't want wholesale changes again in summer but I can't see adding 2 or 3 players really making that much difference to us.
Really disappointing again.

Villafanatic

1.) 17 Apr 2017 18:43:20
Hate to be blunt but you obviously don't watch villa a lot then, and you watched the reading game with your eyes closed.

14 Feb 2017 21:40:00
Enough is enough. We're now in a relegation fight (again) . What's the answer. I'm completely torn between wanting to change the manager (again) or sticking with him whatever happens. Confidence is at an all time low for fans and players alike. New players not making any contribution. In fact they're moving us in the wrong direction.
I think I want Bruce out. Sorry but that's how I feel.
Dr Xia you've put your money where your mouth is but it's failed this time round.

Villafanatic

1.) 14 Feb 2017 21:49:41
I think you sum us all up. Bring in Timmy boy again me thinks. Give him a fair crack.

2.) 14 Feb 2017 21:59:39
Have you not seen the mess at Swindon? No chance.

3.) 14 Feb 2017 23:23:05
Hahahaha give Sherwood a chance.

04 Feb 2017 20:22:56
Poor result. Half decent performance. Kodjia will get used to playing alongside someone and will pass in future.
When you're down luck don't go your way either. Kodjia's shot fumbled by their keeper but bounces harmlessly over Hogan's head. Johnstone does the same but this time it falls straight to their man. Goal!
Not blamimg luck on all our woes but things like this make the difference.
UTV.

Possible but not likely. With our record this season we're as likely to lose 4 on the bounce as win four on the bounce. We've had a bit of luck in last few games which balances some of the bad luck we've experienced. Derby and Sheff Wed results could have been different if penalties had been awarded. These things contribute to the results during the season. We mustn't start getting carried away now.
As others have said. Finish strongly this season and aim must be automatic promotion next year. Anyway quite enjoying life in the Championship although don't want a permanent spot here.

Said on this forum 2 weeks ago, Grealish is a liability on the pitch as well as off it.
This is not hindsight. Check out my post.
We played better than Tuesday night (not difficult) .
Can't blame Bruce for rank stupidity (Grealish) . We should have offloaded him when/ if we had the chance.

Peterborough were deserved winners. Had it not been for Steer making 3 outstanding saves in the 1st half and a couple in the 2nd it could (and should) have been 5 or 6!
The positives: De Laet and O’Hare were decent and Steer was outstanding. But that’s about it.
Too many negatives? Far too many to list, Davis was absolutely shocking. A truly horrendous performance from him. Onomah ineffectual. Taylor simply awful.
Bruce’s substitutions were too late in the game and replaced the wrong players. How the hell did Davis stay on ahead of O’Hare!?!?
Utterly embarrassing day.

When was the last time you saw Villa play well and win? When I say "play well" I mean like Fulham played today. Passed us to death, quick incisive with an end result. We have scraped results over the past 6 - 7 weeks and those performances were no better than today. Winning should give you confidence. There is none because we are playing poorly and have done nearly all season.

Could not agree more. Even games we've won have been scrappy to say the least. You'd have thought winning 6 games in 7 would give the team confidence but we look like we've lost 6 on the bounce!
